Supercuts

This place absolutely sucks. Terrible customer service. I made an appointment on the Supercuts app for 4pm, about 4 hours ahead of time. I get there at 3:52 and I’m told that the wait is 45 minutes. I said that I used the app to book an appointment, and they rudely told me that a reservation is not the same as an appointment and that’s why there was such an exorbitant wait. Umm, I’m pretty sure «appointment» and «reservation» are synonymsand mean the exact same thing in this context. Perhaps they need to use a thesaurus. Regardless, what the hell kind of excuse is that? What the hell is the point of making an appointment. if they aren’t going to honor it at all. I’m never going back to these dillweeds.

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. When I arrived I was told there was a 20 – 30 minute wait to have my kids’ hair cut. I said ok and their names were placed on the list. 45 minutes later after several people arriving after us were taken before us I asked how much longer it would be. I was told unapologetically that others had «called in» after we arrived and she hadn’t counted them into the time factor and so we were continually being bumped down the list. Really??? Who runs a business this way, wasting customers valuable time and not informing them of changes? Why would people who call in AFTER you arrive and have your name on a list be taken first? I have been a semi frequent customer of this chain for years for convenience but will find every way possible to avoid giving them my business, time and money in the future.

Terrible service. Had to wait over 50 minutes for a simple eyebrow wax while other walk in hair cuts were taken before me. I was visibly upset and nothing was done. I didn’t have time to wait an hour as one should be expected to and the staff were not friendly nor accommodating

I’m usually terrified of salons like this — I had gotten a terrible haircut at a Supercuts in 2002 and never fully recovered. But then a few months ago I wanted a shampoo/​blow dry/​flat iron for a wedding and I didn’t want to pay prices for a blow dry salon. I decided to try Supercuts because I figured even if it didn’t come out great, all I had to do was wash my hair.
The woman who styled my hair, Barbie, was AWESOME. I had never seen my hair so straight and sleek. It looked great for days. I decided to try Barbie for an actual haircut and she did a nice job with that as well. She really took the time to make sure it came out nice. It wasn’t a rush job like I’ve experienced at more expensive salons.
I am lucky to be able to get a haircut on weekday mornings, so I haven’t experienced the wait times. I will definitely come back here for another haircut, but I’ll probably stick to Barbie.

Maybe they just don’t know how to cut asian hair. Or they don’t know how to listen to instructions. Or maybe they just don’t care if things look good as they’re cutting. I’m pretty sure that they train newbies by just throwing them at actual customers too. I mean. who turns you away from the mirror for the entire cut so you can’t see what they’re doing?
I’ve been here many times. Once in a while you get an ok cut. But more often than not, I come away super disappointed. It’s too bad that this place is so close and convenient. Come here if you want to leave your cut up to chance.

Terrible waits. The are always understaffed and never work to improve it. I don’t get it. And I was told to use their mobile app and often it is wrong. A low class operation.

I would give this place 0 stars if possible.
Although others had a different experience, the hairdresser I had was extremely unfriendly, short-​fused, and ultimately gave me a mediocre haircut. Waste of money and time.

I agree, Jade is great. She’s been cutting my hair for the past couple years. She is so sweet and always does a good, thorough and professional job. I am extremely picky and from the first time I went I feel she gives me a fifty dollar hair cut for less than half the price. She is a good cutter.

Avoid this place if possible. I live very close and am a busy dad, so the late hours are appealing… but every time I get a different cut with the same precise directions. I have called ahead hours before coming in and a few times and walk-​ins are taken before me. Unless you get here mid day on a weekday, you’ll wait for way too long for the quality you get. Annoying.

Okay work. But they should rename the place Super Slow. Been waiting 10 minutes for host to get off the phone to take my name.

Usually a great place to get a cut. You can’t beat the price, and I usually call 30 minutes before to get me and my kids on the list so it is pretty quick when I show up. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is that occasionally we get a bad cut, the quality can be inconsistent.

Great haircut for toddlers! I took my 14 month old daughter and got her first haircut done by Theresa. She was really good and very gentle and slow which is good for babies! She made my child feel comfortable and didnt try to rush the cut! Although in my opinion I mostly went for a trim and the final charge was $ 13.95, I am a happy ‘mom’ client! I am glad I took the right step and won’t regret going to this one!

They advertise «wash+cut+blow dry» for $ 23 dollars and up, you would think «up» is +$ 5 or +$ 10 or even +$ 15 for longer hair, to Supercuts «up» means +$ 20 even more for medium length hair!
They also ask $ 10 for trimming bangs.
I went there today and asked for just my bangs to be trimmed + a blow dry. My hair is 2 inches below shoulder length and I don’t have a very thick hair, guess how much they asked for bang trimming + blow dry? $ 46! This is much more than real and expensive salons’ prices!
I ended up getting only my bangs trimmed! and I am not at all happy with what I got!
I will NEVER go back to Supercuts ever again!

The worst haircut and service that I have ever received. It’s far overpriced for the lack of talent and experience.

Totaly dissatisfied. The guy with the funny hair has no hair dressing clue. I paid $ 16 to end up wearing a hat for a month.

I was starting to resemble Cousin It, and I just couldn’t take it anymore. It was a situation. It was so bad, that after I went to Shaw’s I dropped my groceries off at the car and high tailed it over to Supercuts across the parking lot.
There was no wait, which was nice, but I was told a wash, cut, and blow dry for long hair was going to be $ 47. What the what? This is Supercuts. That seems really expensive, for Supercuts. The same services are half that at Great Cuts. Not sure when getting your hair blow dried in the middle of the winter became a luxury, but I digress. Plus, I was desperate, so I agreed.
A surly girl named Fatima was assigned to cut my hair. The only reason I know her name is because one of the other stylists called her «Fatty» and she said, in kind of an exorcist voice without meaning to «don’t call me that». So we were off to a great start.
When my hair was being washed I kind of felt like a dog at the groomers. Uncomfortable, wet, and squirmy.
The haircut itself was uneventful enough. It took absolutely forever, which is strange because I have plain, straight hair with a slight angle in the front. Nothing too complex. The stylist did not say more than two words during the entire haircut, which was extremely awkward for someone so entrenched in my personal space.
The haircut itself came out average. Like I said, I have easy hair to cut so it’s hard for me to get a bad haircut. But it was so unpleasant and expensive, I won’t be going back.

Good haircuts, good price, but the wait times can get out of control. Make sure you call ahead.

The worst haircut I’ve ever gotten.
First off: They don’t take reservations, and they wouldn’t tell me over the phone how long of a wait there was. I expect a barber to take a reservation, because that’s how barbers work and that’s just good business. I’ve been down there before and had to wait an hour for them to take me, at which point I walked out and stopped wasting my time.
When I sat down recently, I wasn’t asked how I wanted my hair. I told her how I wanted it, but she just started cutting it without asking. That’s weird. The hairstylists down there also don’t understand the basic concept of cutting hair with scissors and they use a buzzer for everything possible
They also apparantly employ blind people. I’m REALLY not a stickler on how my hair looks and I’ve proven that many times, but my hair now looks ridiculous thanks to them. I also asked for my sideburns to be taken up. One was, the other was left 1.5 inches below the other. When I asked to correct the mistake she took the other one up .5 inches, leaving me with sideburns that were still almost an inch off. Believe me, I was actually so pissed off I measured.
My last complaint about Supercuts is the service. Not only is their service inferior to any barber or hairstylist in the area, but they don’t take the time to have a conversation with you, even if you try to start one. Maybe I’m old-​fashioned, but if I’m getting my hair cut I expect to be able to talk a bit with the person cutting my hair and feel at ease. That didn’t happen here, and I’m disappointed.
In summary, I’m pretty sure that I could get an honorary degree from Jose’s Five Dollar Beauty School and be able to cut hair better than this. If you want a decent haircut in Auburndale/​Newton, go someplace else like Kevin Max or Larry’s.

I just left here feeling like a sheep that got sheared. I asked for a trim, short on the sides, and a little off the top. Simple enough. She buzzed my head in less then 3 minutes then said «there you go honey». I was horrified. I would have complained but she was really annoying me by calling me honey and smiling like she did something great. I paid and ran. I confirmed how bad my under 5 minute shearing was when I got home and had to trim all the hairs she missed. Unless you’re looking for a whiffle stay away! Lastly, I tipped the barber out of pity not for her hair cut.

I’ve always left happy here, although it’s usually just a trim. But the hair wash and service is tops. Friendly staff, not overly chatty either. Great for when you don’t feel like doing the whole «salon» thing and just need to get a trim, etc.
