My sister and I shopped here for the first time on Sat Oct 18. While there were some beautiful items, it was all very expensive($ 475 for a scarf). We didn’t purchase anything and left the store after about 10 min. As we crossed Brattle St, we heard Tess calling to us. She was accusing my sister of stealing a bracelet that she had tried on. She shouted this across a crowded street. When my sister made clear that she didn’t take the bracelet, Tess made a face implying that my sister was lying. Being from New York, with all of the attitude that implies, we went back to the store to prove our innocence to this lunatic. Lo and behold, the bracelet was exactly where it belonged and where my sister left it. There was no apology whatsoever from Tess. In fact, she remained indignant about the whole thing. In what universe does a store owner treat customers this way? We can only imagine that either Tess was off her meds or she never got the memo about how to treat customers to ensure they keep coming back.

Was drawn in here because of some pretty python flats in the window. Upon entry, I received no greeting or acknowledgement. There was one other customer in the store so it’s not like it was busy. I picked up the flats and walked around with them in my hand because 1. I wanted to try them on in my size and 2. I wanted to ask how much they cost. After walking around for 5 minutes with the shoes in my hand, somebody finally asked me «Are you looking for something in particular?» and I responded with«Nothing in particular. These flats caught my eye in the window, do you know how much they cost and if you have a size 7 or 7 ½?» Their response was«Oh, all the sizes are out. And there’s no price? Hmm. They’re on sale. Ask Tess the owner, she’s over there with the dark hair.» So all the shoes are spread in small areas of the store to add to its visual displays. As a customer, I don’t think that I should have to run around YOUR store picking up every shoe looking for the size, especially if you approach me offering some sort of assistance. Also, when I was told Tess had dark hair, she wasn’t anywhere in sight. So then I waited around looking around until I walked over to a woman with dark hair wearing a pencil skirt and top and asked her how much the flats were and she said«Oh, I’m sorry, I can’t help you, I don’t work here. Ask Tess, she can help you.» So I never found Tess and didn’t get an answer for my shoes. The woman I thought was Tess was just a customer and her outfit were pieces from the boutique. It looked like a high end Banana Republic outfit. The shirt she had on was over $ 800 and it was just black cotton. I don’t know what the rest of the outfit cost but I wanted to tell her that she was getting completely ripped off. Milf or not, do not waste your money here. Terrible service and obnoxious prices. The associate who worked there seemed too busy to help me out and I felt like I was a burden, not a customer. The only pleasant part about that experience was the other nice customer who spoke to me.

Im neither a MILF nor a size 4, but I love this store! Tess, the owner and her staff are super knowledgeable and very friendly. The great thing about shopping at Tess is that you dont have a million logos blazed across every item, rather, its clean, simple and understated. I have found amazing suits, jackets and incredible tee shirts in this store, and I highly recommend it!

Are you MILF? Are you rich? Do you tolerate bitchy sales people? Then have I got a store for you! Do not pass go, do not collect $ 200 — take your credit cards, your sugar daddy, and your latest issue of French Vogue and get yourself to Tess tout suite! And if you are hungry after all that shopping, pop into their new eatery to really indulge yourself. Don’t worry, if you eat too much, there’s a nearby bathroom to meet all your purging needs. After all, if you can’t fit into your size 4 dress, you might as well start shopping in Chico’s.

The clothes are definitely beautiful here and yes I too think of really hot mommy… BUT the staff has never ever been friendly prompting me never to buy a thing. It is pricey but each season when I get my super shop on, I tend to splurge and drop some cash on key wardrobe items… but not here… I prefer splurging in stores with a more attentive staff… Barney’s, Saks, Intermix, Riccardi, Queen Bee etc…
