After getting past the fact that this place serves both Chinese and American food at the same time, the restaurant is clean and servers are friendly. My friend and I had breakfast; I had an egg scramble with hash browns & bacon on the side, my friend had the pancake special. Food was good although I would have preferred it to be hotter, temperature wise. My friend was happy with her food. Overall, a decent place for breakfast. Price point is not bad as well. I’m not sure how the Chinese food is but I’ll make it a point to find out on my next visit.

Best Chinese food in coos county. I make it a point to come in whenever I’m in town. I love it because u can get the combo plates which I love because I like to mix and match what I want to get. I have never had bad food or even really had bad service. Sometimes the wait is a bit long but that’s just a sign of good food.

Who would think? A friend if mine said stop for breakfast???, in a Chinese restaurant? It’s great. Well I did. Eggs, sausage, sliced tomato, and cottage cheese. It was as good as any I’ve had and the place was pretty full. Nice!

Had breakfast there this morning. They have served the American style breakfast since they took over the previous diner 10 years ago. Had the bacon and eggs special that included coffee and pancakes for $ 6.75. The food there is simple and consistent, which is what you want to expect from a restaurant like this.

We were on another of our road trips and Tai’s Dynasty happened to be across the street from our motel. The rating wasn’t too horrible, the comments from other Unilocalers weren’t too scary and the location, location, location was perfect. Quite often, I read in reviews that a restaurant isn’t serving authentic«insert nationality here» food but an Americanized version. I understand what the reviewer is saying but please keep in mind that we should be rating the quality of the food and service and necessarily the authenticity. For instance, if you go to Taco Bell, you’re probably going to rate the Taco Bell based on your experience with other Taco Bells as opposed to the type of food that you might find in Mexico. Anyway, Tai’s Dynasty food and service were actually pretty decent. We had four dishes: Wor Won Ton Noodle Soup — 3 — I don’t remember seeing the noodles listed. I really just wanted won ton but once it arrived, it wasn’t worth causing a ruckus. The won tons were fine but only had pork in them, no shrimp. That in itself isn’t uncommon but cost them a star. Pot Stickers — 4 — Wow! They were FAT! Skins were not overly thick and the bottoms had a bit of char to give them texture. I prefer more veg in my pot stickers but I would have no problem ordering these again. Chicken & Vegetables in Yellow Curry — 4 — Curry could be thicker but flavor was good. Mar Far Chicken — 5 — This is a dish that I’ve only found in Oregon. Essentially, it is battered and deep fried boneless chicken served with a sauce. I’ve only had it once before and the sauce was premade and served on the side. Here, at Tai’s, it was served in two squeeze bottles. You mix the two to your tastes. One tasted of yellow mustard, the other, more like a cocktail sauce, ketchup and horse radish. There might have been more to it but I’m writing this review a couple of months late so I don’t remember. One thing I do remember was that the chicken was like crack. With sauce or plain, it was simply delicious! Tender, yet not greasy, I would definitely order this again. All in all, a pretty good restaurant that we would go to again.

My favorite Chinese Restaurant in Coos Bay/North Bend… Great food at a reasonable price, especially the lunch menu… Wonderful, friendly staff… I have been going here for years and have never had a bad meal and have always been treated good. Sweet and Sour Shrimp or General Tso’s Chicken are my favorite. The Spouse likes Kung Pao Chicken… Worth checking-out, if you haven’t already… I don’t give many 5 stars, this restaurant deserves it.

This place is not spectacular but it’s not bad either. It’s more Americanized Chinese food, than true Chinese food. It’s not bad, just not authentic. Their breakfast foods are hearty and good. My favorite is the eggs Benedict when it’s on the daily specials. Good stuff!

The menu set up is funky, I wasn’t expecting to see any non-Asian food. The lady who helped me kept trying to offer me stuff that was America style Chinese food but I didn’t care for any of that. She was nice & helpful but when my husband & I want Chinese food, we want real Chinese food. So I told her, what would she order if she was picking something. She pointed out a stir-fry type of this with all types of veg/meats in it & told me it was spicy… but she would get extra spice. I told I will take it… it was good but not spicy enough for us, also there was some kind of meat in the mixture that my husband kept saying was very mushy & felt like a sponge in his mouth(maybe pork?). Either way we really liked it but next time more spice & no pork!

Is this great Chinese food? Well, No. But no matter what we’ve had here the portions have been enormous, the prices are fair, and the service is fine. The ambience is also much better than most places in the Bay Area. Very clean and shiny. I can see us coming back here on a pretty regular basis as long as they can maintain this workmanlike performance.

The food is not to bad and the price and portions are good. The service is beyond horrible. They are unfriendly and never come to check back on you or refill waters. They do have one good waitress so she makes it worth while if she is there. The new owner does not have a clue what she is doing.

Had take out there Sunday Mother’s Day big big mistake. Worst food I have eaten in a very long time. Had what was supposed to be curry chicken with noodles. The chicken had no spice at all not even salt or pepper and the noodles were store bought spaghetti noodles. This is the last time I will give this place a try especially when we have exciting excellent new restaurants like Chan“s Wok that’s in there old location and serves some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Sorry you had it once but you’ve lost it and lost it bad for obviously no one cares about the quality of food at Tai’s.

I have given this place several shots because the food really isn’t bad at all. But lunch there today was the last straw. Where do I even begin? Let me start with EXTREMELYRUDESERVERS. I have never in my life not left at least some sort of tip at a restaurant until today. Every time we have been there, my son and I, we have rude servers, and it doesn’t matter which one we get. They all seem to have some sort of issue with me, I have no clue what it is. Maybe I look like the woman her husband wanted to leave her for. Today I was so blessed to have this unsightly waitress that we got stuck with absolutely tell me off at the register because I questioned why I was being charged so much extra for a very inadequate portion of shrimp I ordered. She absolutely came unglued and started yelling at me in front of the whole restaurant. I was very tempted to empty my bag of leftovers on her head. She should consider herself VERY lucky that I didn’t. I have no idea exactly what her childhood trauma is, but this heifer has no business whatsoever in anything remotely related to customer service let alone hospitality. If I am going to spend my money at your eating establishment, you better believe I expect to be treated in a reasonably pleasant manner! I’m not saying I expect servers to be ridiculously fake with a plastic smile, just you know, at least be reasonably friendly. We all have bad days, I understand that. But this was just ridiculous. I complained to management about her outburst and said there was no way I was leaving a tip. The manager didn’t even have the decency to apologize to me or comp me in any way, she just said, «Yes, I understand.» Wow! I won’t even bother mentioning the time that two long curly blonde hairs were in my food. I would never advise people to visit this restaurant, and my son and I wouldn’t go back if our lives depended on it! I am utterly outraged! I hope with every fiber of my being that this place gets shut down.

I used to make a point of eating here whenever I came to visit my mother. But now, I should probably just enjoy a fast food burger, since it will have fewer ingredients I’m allergic to. Not to mention be less likely to be instant crap you can make in a microwave. The worst part is that even if you state an MSG(or any) allergy, the«chef» puts extra in, just to be rude. Speaking with the owner has done no good; she knows what the«chef» does and how he treats customers, but refuses to do anything about it. Sorry, TD, you’ve lost a customer forever.

This isn’t the greatest Chinese food ever, but it’s still tasty and the price is pretty affordable. Their menu features a lot of different items, including American and breakfast options. The service was decent, and we left satisfied and full. We’ll definitely come here again.

We have been searching for good Chinese food since moving to the area, but this place completely missed the mark. The General Tsos chicken tasted like hot wings and the fried rice was white rice with some veggies mixed in. I’m not sure how this place got so many good reviews, because we didn’t enjoy any of the take out food we got.

Walking into this Chinese restaurant on the side of the road, as we were on our way to the cabin, I immediately suffered from identity confusion. Was this a Chinese restaurant, or American restaurant? They serve anything from omelet, fried chicken, to egg foo-young and broccoli beef. What? The menu is extremely extensive and the prices are reasonable. They even have healthy options where they don’t add oil or MSG to the food, awesome! I was craving Chinese food, and our destination was about an hour south on Highway 101, but it seemed like this was the biggest town we’d encounter before we got to Cape Blanco, so we decided to grab a quick dinner here and head to Cape Blanco. We ordered Mandarin beef and vegetable deluxe. Though we were surprised about how hefty the bag was when they handed it to us, we didn’t think too much about it as we had to get to the cabin before sun down. So imagine the look on our faces when we opened the bag in our cabin to find the gigantic box of Mandarin beef and a gigantic box of vegetable deluxe! For the money we paid, it was two meals for two people at a very good price! They gave us plenty of vegetables in both dishes because we requested for them. The beef was very tender and flavorful, and really really good with rice because it was saucy! Matt didn’t think the sauce was spicy enough, so he added a lot of the chili paste to it, making it even more spectacular! The vegetable deluxe was cooked in a gooey white sauce, which really hit the spot for me because I don’t like my food too greasy or too salty, so the light sauce was just perfect. And the next morning, it was still yummy even though the food was cold!

As a Chef with a global background, I expect nothing more than authentic cuisine. I had the hot and sour soup, egg rolls and beef kung pao here and was not impressed. The kung pao was not spicy(no chilies) watery and had copious amounts of ground dried ginger in the dish. REALLY! Egg rolls were different but, tasty and the soup was OK. Im going to give it a try again during dinner service instead of lunch.
