So good we came here for lunch twice during the brief visit to Charleston. So refreshing to find Doe’s. The middle eastern dishes, in particular, were delicious. The price is down right inexpensive and the staff is very friendly. An oasis… among a sea of pork rinds… Go there!

I have been going to Doe’s(this one and the now closed downtown location) for twenty years. One of my child’s first foods was hummus from Doe’s. The onsite baked pita is a treat and I always enjoy the freshly made soups– especially the lentil. I usually get the kibbe or chicken and raisin pita if I am very hungry. A great local place that makes fresh and tasty food. Love Doe’s!

I went to Doe’s for the first time today and what a Great Experience! The ‘packed to go’ options are perfect for those snacking moments when you want food of substance… plus it’s convenient and reasonably priced! We tried the Lebanese Potato Salad, Bow Tie Pasta Salad, Coher’s Bean Salad, Olive Tampenade, the homemade Pita chips, and the Greek Salad Pita… all truly delicious! The staff was very helpful in explaining what ingredients were in each item as I have many food allergies. We will be back!

I don’t know why I don’t come here more often! It’s literally around the corner from my job. I could walk if I wasn’t lazy! My friend and I were hoping to find a healthy lunch option and hadn’t been to Doe’s in a while so we went today for lunch. We decided this last night so I perused the online menu to pre-select my healthy option. I like how the website has a heart next to the pita pockets that are low or no fat options. I’ve never tried tabouleh before but I love hummus and several Unilocal reviews mentioned tabouleh was good so I decided to give it a shot. I did Google tabouleh to make sure the components were all things I was open to trying. I’m so glad I went with this option! It was SUPER filling, VERY good, and the hummus was delicious too. The pita pocket took up just about the entire Styrofoam plate! My friend always gets the chicken salad, which I might try next time. Not sure though because the tabouleh pocket was so good! I really want to get some stuff to enjoy at home. I was horrifyingly tempted to try their pimiento cheese, which I think their in store wall menu mentioned was new but I resisted. Next time! I plan to return more often and if everything I try is as good as today’s pocket, this review will be bumped up to 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this little place. Everyone is so sweet and it made me feel at home. My husband was raving about this place! Will Definitely Be Back!

Do not be alarmed by the exterior or the interior ambiance of Doe’s! Despite what it looks like, the food coming out of their kitchen is fresh and incredibly flavorful! The menu is lengthy without any descriptions other than the name so it’s a bit of a guessing game. But I had it on good authority from a friend that the tabbouleh and hummus pocket was good and so I gave it a shot. It was so delicious and more than worth the mere $ 7.50 I paid for it! So do yourself a favor and give the little house on the corner a try!

I love the pita bread and Tabouleh. Turkey and cranberry with sprouts is good too. Wish it was still available downtown.

Good selection of items, friendly workers, quick service. Like other’s have said, the location is easy to miss. My husband didn’t like his meat burrito pita. My falafel pita had decent flavor but the falafel itself was the worst I’ve had. No crunch at all, just mush. Lastly, the stuffed olive leaves description on the menu lists no meat and… there was meat in it. I don’t eat meat and I’m glad one was falling apart and I noticed it before eating it. I won’t be back but again, certainly not the worst food.

I cannot believe we have taken this long to eat here. The food was incredibly fresh and filling but not heavy at all. We had the veggie/hummus pita, falafel pita, and tabouleh. The menu was pretty expansive with pitas, salads, cold soups, and some other items. Like some others have mentioned it is a converted house and they do have one outdoor table and several inside. We will definitely be coming back here in the near future. Things we have tried so far: Chicken/Turkey bacon pita, Veggie/hummus pita, falafel pita, tabouleh, Lebanese potato salad(wow!). I am on a mission to try everything from this place.

Once you get inside, this place is awesome! They only serve lunch(middle eastern) and it’s super fresh and authentic. It pretty much a house– small and old fashioned. There were two very friendly ladies working(I saw one of them cutting herbs which is a great sign. I ate the falafel pocket and it was delicious! It was so quiet and peaceful in there. Just great vibes. FINALLY a place to get a yummy, light lunch :)

I used to frequent this place way back in the day when I was in college and it was located on East Bay Street. Actually the photo for the store is from their old East Bay location. I had no idea they moved to North Rhett until I started working up around that way and preferred rolling up Spruill and Rhett Ave rather than I-26(another great reason to avoid highways — see what’s around you, people!). I was happy to see this place has stayed true to what I always remembered. I’ll put it this way, if you love Mediterranean/Lebanese cuisine, get in here now! If you want food that’s not going to drag you down, get in here now! This is a great place for cold meals, cold soups, hommous, baba, etc. They also make a killer chicken salad pita. My all time fav, however, has got to be their avocado salad pita. I’ve never had anything like it. Super refreshing. Very happy to have rediscovered Doe’s!

Freshest food in Charleston! Went there for lunch, I felt like my grandmother was in the kitchen making sure I ate healthy and it was amazing! Great flavor, everything is homemade!

First time there. I just loved the fresh pita’s and even bought two packs to take home. Will go back and try different pita’s. The two ladies working were just the sweetest ever. The place is really REALLY small so I wouldn’t suggest large parties. It had 5 tables with two seats each, so it’s small and relaxed.

I have not eaten here since they shut down the downtown store. What a treat. It brings back memories of how good a simple sandwich can be. I had the classic cranberry and Turkey Pita. The Turkish lentil soup was good. If you are in the park circle area you should stop by for lunch. Very friendly counter person.

Just to lay all my cards on the table, I feel like I should preface my review with a warning that this one is likely to be more enthusiastic than others for three reasons: a) I took a brief hiatus from writing reviews and I’ve missed it, b) I had a lot of coffee, and c) I just effing love this place. Doe’s is a gosh darn treasure in North Charleston and I want to yell it from a mountain!!! …but because there are no mountains in Charleston, Unilocal will be my surrogate mountain. First off, I am not afraid to admit that I would do strange things for a falafel pita pocket from Doe’s if it came down to it. I have been so happy with just about everything I’ve had on the menu; the falafel pita pocket, the Greek salad, the taboulli pita pocket, the hummus, pasta salad, and whatever other silly thing I have ordered. All are winners. The lovely ladies that work there are so sweet, too — always personable, never letting a customer go without interacting with them in some way. I docked ‘em one measly star because their prices are higher than I really WANT to spend on lunch and the inside is boring. I always get my food to go, and both are forgivable offenses because their entire menu rocks my face. Fresh and made to order, really, you can’t go wrong here.

This is one of those fun little quirky spots carved out of a house and generally keeping up that innate homey feel. The food ranges between«meh» and fantastic, so just be a bit careful when ordering. The pies are not particularly good, as they’re microwaved when you order and the dough gets kind of spongey. On the flip side, I had the chicken broccoli sandwich and it was great. Having only been once I can’t adequately rate the menu as a whole, and the fact that there was one person working when I ate(yes, register and food prep), I can’t criticize my friends’ fandom toward the restaurant. Try it out. You may like it, you may not, but you won’t regret trying.

In a town that is inundated with fried food and BBQ, sometimes you just crave a healthy meal. And this is one of the few places with lots of options that are healthy, easy-on-the-wallet and vegetarian/vegan friendly! Keep Charleston healthy, Doe! I lived in Charleston about 10 years ago when Doe’s Pita used to be on East Bay downtown and was a regular. To this day, I still crave the avocado salad pita sandwich — savory hummus, crunchy celery and sprouts, creamy avocados with a little bite from the scallions and radishes!

Great lunch place! Big pita sandwich that is fresh and delicious. It’s inside a house that has been somewhat converted… love it! My favorite has been the chicken salad and I add tabbouleh to it

I really love the pita here! It has to be just as good or better than my favorite pita from NYC! I had babagannuj in the pita and it tasted very fresh. I prefer a smokier baba but the eggplant was fresh and tasty. My dad really loved the curry chicken in pita. I love middle eastern food, will be back to try their falafels, grape leaves and tabbouleh!
