OMG terrible racist place with bad food. Went there and received lumpy yucky luke warm chowder. They got my order wrong and I had to watch my fellow diners eat. Food took forever and the waitstaff is racist and rude. Do not go here.

Went for Sunday brunch. Was one of the best we’ve had. Vannah was extremely attentive and very friendly. We’ll definitely be back!

My friend and I got food poisoning eating here. When we brought it to the head person’s attention, he said they needed a doctor’s note to refund us for the snack we had! Does this happen often here, we wondered? It has a lovely atmosphere but maybe stick to just drinks …

Ordered a couple of omelettes for breakfast this morning at this«tavern» located in the upscale but aging Hotel. We were disappointed to receive plates featuring some kind of unknown egg like product with a strange non egg like consistency and no natural browning… basically some kind of artificial powdered scrambled egg like concoction we have all had before at tired breakfast buffets. The bacon was also disappointing. Our server was friendly and apologetic and offered to send the plates back and ask for real eggs. And the chef sent a message that if we had requested real eggs, he would have been happy to provide them. I simply suggest that they advertise omelettes made with egg like substitutes. A $ 29 treat in all.

Fun atmosphere, good drinks and good food. The bartender was very attentive and he makes a great Manhattan as well as a perfect martini. The chicken Francaise was delicious with lots of capers.

I’ve only been here for drinks, but the ambiance is so romantic with the huge fire place, dark wood paneling and low ceilings. Plus, the interior retains what feels like the most«authentic» colonial and historical vibe in town. It’s definitely not«average» looking or like«Cracker Barrel in any way, LOL. The menu looked great too.

This place is super cool and authentic looking! You wouldn’t know it from the outside, but it’s pretty spacious too and is great for groups. I’ve been in real taverns still running from the 1700’s, and this was really quite similar and cozy-like. The food was good with great portions and delicious dessert too. The hotel itself is quaint and cute with helpful staff and pretty décor and really comfy chairs by the fireplace. If I was ever in the area again, I’d definitely be back for more.

My girlfriend and I visited Wiggins Tavern for the first time last night for a late night birthday dinner. When we walked in we immediately fell in love with the ambiance of the place. Very dimly lit, candles burning on the tables, the walls adorned with antiquities and old photos. It had the rustic charm we were looking for and the atmosphere for the perfect romantic evening. Michael was our server/host. This man was absolutely fantastic. He was everything you could ask for and more. Charming, witty, outgoing and extremely knowledgeable. He kept us entertained with stories of the history of the hotel and tavern and was more than accomodating. He truly helped to make our night extra special. The food was outstanding. My girlfriend and I are both executive chefs so we always go into a place looking to pick it apart. There was nothing to criticize. The PEI Mussels were tender and succulent, the French Onion Soup was bold and flavorful, I had the Lavender Honey Glazed Salmon, cooked medium rare, and it was without a doubt the best piece of salmon Ive eaten in a decade. My girlfriend got the NY Strip with gorgonzola and onions and mushrooms with a Shallot Demi. Amazing! This place was just simply remarkable. I am forever a customer now. Thank you so much for the food and hospitality. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Just got a couple drinks. Had a great conversation with the bartender Abbas. Nice people! I definitely would recommend it. The vibe is that of old New England 18th century. You can feel the history all around you! As a history teacher, I def dig it.

This place is awesome! The food was delicious, I had the sea scallops and crème brûlée for desert. Also had a glass of Malbec with my dinner. The staff is very friendly and told us about some of the history of the building which was interesting. One of the facts was the tavern was disassembled Connecticut and then reassembled here in Massachusetts. We walked around and looked at some of the antiques which are about 300 years old. I would highly recommend giving this place a try :)

Came for Sunday Brunch per recommendation of a friend. I called the Tavern ahead of time to inquire about handicapped accessibility and was told there would be no problem. My mother is in a wheel chair and would need ramps, elevators, etc. We arrived at the hotel and saw a sign for the elevator in the parking lot. We rode the elevator, which brought us to the hotel lobby. We were then told we would need to take another elevator to get to the restaurant and yet another elevator to get down to the tavern. The first elevator(it is more like a lift) worked. However, the second lift was clearly broken and appeared to have been broken for some time. We waited while staff scrambled to try and figure it out. No luck. The staff offered for us to eat in the café and I could go down to the buffet to get food for my mother and I at the buffet. When I was finally able to get to the buffet I was unimpressed by the offerings(or perhaps I was just too frustrated at this point to enjoy my experience). There was a carving station with turkey and prime rib, omelette station, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, salmon, ravioli, smoked Salmon, two beef dishes, fruit, Spinach salad, breakfast pastries, and assorted desserts. The staff was friendly but the food was lackluster. I didn’t leave there feeling anything was extraordinary. I couldn’t even really decipher the filling in the ravioli. The best part was probably the carving station. I wouldn’t come back for the buffet and definitely would not come back with mother. Maybe lunch/dinner would be better?

Only came in for drinks as we dined elsewhere but the ambiance and service were both good. The bartender was pleasant and was able to make something my wife requested and the malt list was very good with a 30 year Balvenie being the highlight.

Been there a few times for Sunday brunch. In the past the food was ok for an all you can eat buffet, but lately the food has gotten worse. I even had a discussion with the chef about a dish that I thought was undercooked. Definitely not a vibrant atmosphere. In my opinion, there are much better brunch options around unless you really want an all you can eat place.

We stumbled upon this place during our travels. We sat in the patio and it was wonderful. The portions were very large and everything was brought out very hot. The service was excellent and they were extremely accommodating with our group of nine. The prices were very reasonable(for lunch) for the quality of the food. The smoked turkey panini was delicious as well as the garden chicken wrap! Would highly recommend!

Have been coming here for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner for years, and I think tonight will be our last. One can only put up with so much paying nearly $ 30 per plate for dinner. Our waitress, although friendly, knew nothing about proper, respectful, and courteous service. She must have bumped into me about ten times while reaching across the table to serve. She even tossed a bag of oyster crackers at our guest who she couldn’t reach. On two occasions I cleared our own plates that were left in front of us for some time, putting them on the cart next to us. My portion of salmon was enough for a child. Two ginger ales were sent back for being flat and watery, but it took the waitress 4 times coming to the table to remember we asked for replacements. The garlic mashed had no garlic. The highlight of the night was the dinner rolls and the wine. The food was barely warm and was obviously prepared ahead of time. Is good food and service too much to ask for a $ 245 bill? We will be seeking another dining establishment for Christmas Eve next year. What a shame Wiggins Tavern!

Fantastic spot for Brunch, or late night cocktails. Warm, inviting bar area right when you walk down the steps into Wiggins. Comfortable chairs arranged around the(fake but somewhat realistic) fireplace. Perfect setting to relax and unwind. When you leave, don’t forget to check out some of the old menu’s on the wall. They are hanging on the wall, just before the exit of the hotel. Interesting house developed cocktails. Beer, in such a huge beer city, comes up short. Food is slightly better than your fearful standard hotel food, but in a city with so many fantastic choices, dine first then relax here. Great spot pre-show at the Calvin.

Service was haphazard. Clearly the young college student who was waiting on us was ending her shift and couldn’t wait to get out. The atmosphere is incredibly cute but they could have done so much more. Food was okay but nothing memorable. Awfully pricey for what is otherwise an inexpensive college town. Not impressed, sorry. We stayed at the hotel itself. That was also okay but not great. I found the hotel and the Wiggins pub to be a bit tired, long in the tooth. There’s a helluva lot better coffee shop down the way that serves vegetarian delights that is actually excellent. If it wasn’t for the fact that I wanted a drink, I would probably have not gone to the Wiggins.

BRUNCH! This review is simply based on the award winning brunch… definitely one of the best that I’ve ever been to. The tavern has an old feel to it — it’s a historic site and they’ve kept the charm of the lower ceiling and old wood while brightening up the room with recessed lighting. The brunch has an outstanding selection of breakfast and lunch choices(which I could only have some of the following): Omelette station, waffle station, ham and roast beef carving station, variety of breads, bagels croissants, pastry, jams, jellies, butter, cream cheese, nova lox, eggs benedict, french toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, jambalaya, couscous, grilled chicken, roasted spare ribs, apple cobbler, cheesecake variety, chocolate covered cream puffs, brownies… and more. I’m sure there are other items that I missed, but everything that I tried was fresh and delicious. Great brunch if you’re splurging… but make sure that you go there hungry!

Arrived at this wonderful eatery ravenously hungry on the way from New Hampshire’s Lake Region back home to Philadelphia, and as we were accompanied by our awesome furry son, Tango, we needed an al fresco place to eat. A quick check of Unilocal revealed good reviews, so we and Tango went into their expansive patio overlooking the Northampton City Hall Green and with a superb look at the passers-by in their quaint and busy downtown. Service was superb, with the staff welcoming our awesome Black Lab effusively and Tango repaying the compliment by rolling on his back for a belly rub. We had one of the best al fresco tables on the patio. My partner ordered their cheeseburger and I ordered the featured Vegetarian Risotto. Yum. Really, really yum. The side salad was fresh and ample, and accompanied by freshly baked bread. Tango got a water bowl and several dog cookies. We did go inside separately to use the facilities and admired the grandeur of the Northampton Hotel and much of their grand old lobby which is now taken up by Wiggins. We left totally satiated, happy, and pleased to have visited Northampton.

We had our rehearsal dinner here on Thursday night. Service was spectacular, food was fairly good for a large buffet and everything occurred on time and as it was supposed to. I also thought it was reasonably priced for a three hour rental plus buffet and private bar in the room. I would definitely recommend for any private event. Also, the bar is really nice and the bartenders are friendly. It was a good place to hang out after the big event(albeit completely dead besides our party).
