Backus Hospital

My Doctor had requested an ultrasound in «the next week or 2». 3 weeks later I receive a written appointment in the mail fort this procedure for approximately 5 weeks after the Doctor visit. A few days before my scheduled appointment I receive a phone call confirming my appointment with a new earlier time. They had rescheduled my ultrasound appointment time without checking with me and this was very inconsiderate and inconvenient for me. Very disappointed with this whole ultrasound process last Backus.

I had to go to the ER here during a trip to Foxwoods. The nurses, doctor and staff were all great and I felt supported and well cared for.

Urgent care in Plainfield sucks! Fell down stairs and saw practitioner after 3 hours of being here. Won’t come to this facility again

Worst hospital experience ever. My son had a serious accident where he hit his face. He lost a lot of blood and was in shock when I brought him in. The doc refused to listen to me, refused to call a plastic surgeon for a consult and didn’t even take an X-​ray. I was told they could give him a few stitches for the cut on the outside, or «take my chances somewhere else». They were extremely rude and condescending, inferring I had no idea what I was talking about. I was forced to accept their substandard care, and a few days later the swelling had gone over the stitches. Got him into an ENT, and he needed a full reconstruction on his nose as the bones were shattered and the cartilage was torn to pieces. Now he’s permanently scarred. So I guess I was not hysterical, you idiots.
Don’t trust these guys to do due diligence or provide proper care at all. If things don’t seem right, they probably aren’t.

After having surgery at Backus hospital I was pleasantly suprised by the caring nurses and staff. I had Tony and Rebecca on night shift who saw to my every need without my asking. I was terribly dry from being intubated in surgery and I never was without a drink. The staff at Backus was one of the most caring I have seen in a long time. It was nice to see people taking pride in their job and working together to make an unpleasant situation more bearable Thank You for making my stay memorable and less scary

Definitely not fun to have to go the emergency room, especially when not in your own town. A friend drove me to Backus on the recommendation of an EMT at Foxwoods Casino, and as promised by her, the staff was amazing. I am totally terrified of hospitals, doctors, needles, even the blood pressure machine. Everyone I encountered at Backus was really kind and patient with my anxieties, and tried really hard to make due under the circumstances. Also, all of the nurses there were super hot. Kind of makes me wish I went to the emergency room more often! NOT!
