A solid 4 out of 5 stars. Love the way they serve their dine in… on small cookie sheets with a layer of paper. A large variety of BBQ sauces. My Favs: #47, coffee bbq & Carolina Mustard. «Texas Hot»…is not & the white bbq, not so much. The brisket was good and had some nice flavor, the turkey moist without the heavy saltiness of some. The beans excellent and the au gratin red potatoes with creamed spinach were good. The guy behind the counter was efficient and friendly enough but not a stand out encounter. The gal at the register was very friendly. It was clean and inviting. Tables are community style with 6 – 7 large bottles of sauce and paper towel rolls. You can eat in or out… temps were in the 90s so the AC felt great. It was a good lunch. I wouldn’t hesitate to return but wouldn’t rush back either. It does look like the best option in the area.

The Portobello sandwich is really amazing. Loved it. Perhaps the only vegetarian sandwich you can find in this barbecue restaurant.

My friend and I walked into Sugarfire Winghaven at 8:55 pm on Friday night and they close at 9. We were completely unaware of what time it was or that they were about to close. The two young women at the cash register gave us mean glares and pronounced that they close in 5 minutes. I said can we just get dessert? They said yes but it needs to be to go. My friend somehow caught the attention of either the chef or manager behind the counter and he was much more friendly and accommodating. He agreed to make my friend the salmon sandwich on the menu and he could choose from any of the remaining side dishes(no fries). That was acceptable to him and I ordered a slice of the key lime pie. The woman at the cash register reluctantly rang us out and said they would not charge for the key lime pie which was very nice. We walked out the door at 9:01 with salmon sandwich, side dish of cauliflower salad, and slice of key lime pie. They had 11 people working there and not a customer in the store. They key lime pie was very good and my friend enjoyed his salmon sandwich but was not too fond of the cauliflower. All in all this was a satisfactory experience other than the attitude of the two women. Having spent most of my adult life in a retail situation I do understand being there all day and having people walk in at the very last minute BUT they can still be friendly and offer to accomodate any customer at any time in some way.

YUMMYYUMMYYUMMY! That’s what you’ll be saying when you try this place. One of the best BBQ restaurants in town! Everything was delicious including the desserts… we got ours to go because we were SoOo full from the big portions of food they serve. Will be going back!

EXCELLENT place to stop for BBQ! We are on our way home from Savannah to Colorado and have already had BBQ all through GA&SC and figured St Louis would be a hot spot too. The Sugar Fire is worth getting off 70-W onto 170, because 170 loops around the airport in the same direction we were headed anyway. We had baby back ribs, burnt tips, green beans and brisket soup. As a grazer, it is rare I eat to the point of discomfort. This is one of the exceptions. The food is that good and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend a stop here.

Wow! The absolute best bbq in the neighborhood, hands down! I always get the pulled pork, with various sides. The pork is always juicy and delicious. Various sides are usually available, which are always interesting and delicious.

The service was really good, the food on the other hand was very disappointing! We heard how wonderful this place was and decided to go there on a Monday night… the brisket and ribs were so dry and the potatoes were cold:(unfortunately we will not be back since my husband got sick from his ribs!

So this is by far hands down the best BBQ I have ever encountered! The intense smokey flavor in all the meats is perfect but then the top of off with their fabulous BBQ sauce… like the coffee BBQ is to die for but everyone is in love with the the white BBQ sauce. When ever we have people come from out of town sugar fire is the first place we take them.

Portions were on the small side compared to the original on Olive. Fewer varieties of BBQ sauce and no complimentary bread. The meat was just as good as the original. Apparently this location is a franchise and the owner also owns the Imos next door, which rubs me the wrong way for some reason. $ 15 for a plate with two meats and and two sides was expensive for lunch given the amount of food. I am not going be in a hurry to go back.

Best BBQ bar none I have ever eaten. The staff is awesome and the service is top notch. Especially Considering how crowded it gets. The smoked wings on Saturday are yummy. The Mac and Rac side is a must when it is available. My go to is the brisket with the white BBQ sauce. But the daily specials are usually fantastic.

Amazing! You need to eat here! Excellent service. The folks had a great sense of humor– we were in town for the first time and asked what we needed to try if this was the only time we would be there and the chef told me «I’m not sure I want to talk to you if you’re only going to be here once!» I had the chicken artichoke sandwich and it was amazing! You need to go here!

This place is within minutes of my house. I’m a frequent visitor. Brisket and turkey are probably the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of bbq. Pulled pork is right up there too. Ribs were good, but i wasn’t blown away. The Big Muddy is a gigantic sandwich and worth the hype. The reason they only get 4 stars is because the sides are pretty hit or miss, most of the time because they are kind of bland for me; however, if they have Mac N Rack, drop everything you are doing and go now! If none of their daily sides look good, the fries are always a solid fall back. Overall, well worth your time, even if there is a line.

It’s legit BBQ as St. Louis goes, but not the greatest. I perfer a more TN hickory smoked taste, but Sugarfire does has above average brisket and good pulled pork. The sides are usually fantastic and super creative pairings. They do list their daily specials on FB each morning and would recommend checking that before going to see the daily offerings. The sauces offering is expansive but most are too over powering and much to sweet. The atmosphere is always fun and when someone orders a Big Muddy you better prepare for a ringing of the Gong… pretty funny.

Sugarfire is only a short drive from my house and I’ve always heard really positive things about this BBQ joint. The thing is I’m not a huge fan of «traditional BBQ» and entrees like ribs, brisket, etc. don’t excite me generally but they had plenty of nontraditional options to appease somebody like me, a few of the plates that caught my eye were the Big Muddy, the Chicken Biscuit and what I inevitable settled on, the Brisket Cheesesteak sandwich. Like I said I settled for the Brisket Cheesesteak, with that I ordered a drink and fries. The cheesesteak sandwich was excellent and came loaded with molten cheese already melted into the brisket and onions/peppers. Really well done! I also really liked the fact that they had a big variety of house-made sauces to choose from to dip my fries in(although they are generally meant for the sandwiches), I tried probably 6 of them, my favorites were the white BBQ sauce and the Carolina mustard. I also liked the fact that they had unique soda choices and didn’t rely on your standard Coke/Pepsi products. The staff was super friendly when I was asking about recommendations and talking to them about the place in general. They all seemed extremely satisfied and committed to Sugarfire. Cool vibe. I’ll definitely be back.

It’s weird that I’m just now making my way to Sugarfire for a couple of reasons. For one, it’s like a 3 minute drive from my parent’s house, and secondly, my parents… who NEVER try anything new have been here multiple times before me. So anyways, they’re the ones who brought me. Sugarfire was pretty good. I really liked my brisket sandwich. It was super tender, juicy, and flavorful. I didn’t even use any sauce with it. Just savored the brisket for all it’s glorious taste. I had the loaded potato salad. It was alright. I just love the sides at other bbq places more, so it makes it hard to make it my number 1 bbq spot. I will for sure be back though, I want to try the pulled pork and more sides. And those pies look amazing!

This was my first time trying burnt ends, and I wasn’t disappointed. We enjoyed sampling each of the different BBQ sauces. Everything was delicious, though the portions are fairly small for the price. Edit: Thank you to Matt for responding to my review and teaching me more about burnt ends! I suppose I should have clarified better — the portion of burnt ends I had was just right and I was excited just to see them on the menu! My husband had the two meat combo with brisket and pulled pork and he, on the other hand, could have gone for a bit larger portions. Thank you again, and please keep those coffee bbq and Don Juan sauces around!

If it is not Bogarts… it has to be Sugarfire. Sugarfire is different, and different is good. If it was not for current calorie restrictions I would have a photos of even more amazing sides offered on my trip. Last night the side of the day was Mac and Rack– Mac and Cheese with Rib Meat!!! Hello world! The burger special(Waino Burger) was a burger topped with pulled pork, bacon, cheese, and sauces… total awesomeness. However– trying to be somewhat healthy… I stuck to fruit and veggies for my sides. They were great, full of flavor, and filling. I adore fresh green beans. The pulled pork is second in the entire STL area. I enjoyed the hot sauce and coffee based sauce. This location has indoor seating for about 40, and outdoor seating for 20 – 30. All of the indoor tables are high boys. Looks like the big push is for carry out. Read the menu before you go… once you spot the man slicing the meat your head may begin to spin! The brisket looked so good I was getting woozy. Check Facebook and Twitter for daily additions to the menu.
