Charming little ‘around the corner’ wine shop! I came by for a(free!) wine tasting and was pleasantly surprised at how knowledgeable the staff wine educator was! Whether talking regions, barrels, toasting or climate, he knew his vino. I tried five pours and went home with a lovely Australian Pinot Noir. They stock a nice selection of wine including many in the $ 15 to $ 20 range(my sweet spot!). If you go to their website and sign up for their emails, you’ll receive updates including info on their upcoming tastings.

Rave is a fantastic resource for Oak Park. I am no wine connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination. I was a little intimidated to go in so stuck with the grocery store wine. After attending a private event I have bought all my wine from them. The stor is very approachable and prices are reasonable. No more grocery store wine for me! Doug has always been very helpful in suggesting the perfect wine. There are great wines to be had here, most of them at very reasonable prices too. The 6 and 12 bottle discounts are an added bonus. Always easy to park in front and grab what you need.

Last week my friends and I fell in love with a Bordeaux we had at French restaurant. When I googled the name of the wine it gave me this wine store where the Bordeaux was listed as one of the favorite picks. I drove out there ready to buy a case only to find out it was sold out. Clearly not the owner’s fault, I should have called first. However the guy was so completely unapologetic about it that it bothered me. Then he informed me that they had been sold out for months. The fact that it was still on their website even though they were sold out for a while made me decide to not buy anything there. And his attitude did not help. As I left I said he might want to update their website. He said it was up to date and asked where I saw the Bordeaux listed. I told him under their favorite picks section to which he snottily replied«Maybe back in December». I told him no it was actually three days ago. He rolled his eyes and shook his head clearly suggesting I was lying. When that Bordeaux was how I found their store in the first place! I don’t appreciate being called a liar. I’m a big wine fan, as are my friends. He just lost a whole new customer base.
