J’s Cleaners

It stinks that I have to give such a low review… But I was forced to send my dry cleaning here due to the fact that I work so close and it’s very convenient.
I have had a couple of mishaps since working with J’s cleaners.
I would like to say that they do promise a quick turnaround time.
However, I have gotten my clothes back and I feel like they have shrunk. I haven’t gained a pound, but yet, my clothes come back much tighter. Also, there has been more than one instance where certain garments are forgotten and not included in my pickup. While I understand this may be a mistake, this is completely unacceptable. When picking up 15 – 20 items, I want to trust that I am receiving all of my goods.
Another unfortunate mishap that I have encountered– I sent in a knit tee for dry cleaning. Yes, it came back clean, however there was a huge hole in my $ 200 knit.
Lastly– make sure you check your bill as I have been over charged for items they considered to be «cashmere» or a dress– neither was the case. And they do charge extra for these items. However, they were happy to adjust the charges.

I needed a place to do alteration to my pants as I am short. It was easy and quick. I dropped them off on Saturday and pick up on Thursday with no issues and it was a reasonable price.

In short — Highly Recommended!
I started using J’s Cleaners when I lived in Westmont starting in 2008. Now, I’m in Elmhurst and although there are many other cleaners where I live, some even walking distance, I still take my dry cleaning to J’s, which is about a 15 min drive for me.
Why? Jimmy, the owner is a real personable guy, good to talk to, and very knowledgeable. He told me which articles should definitely be dry cleaned and which can be simply laundered and pressed. Thanks to him, I’m wearing a dark blue Bugatchi shirt right now that is FOUR years old but looks as good as when I first purchased it. That’s why. ;)

Excelent quality and service. Prices are also reasonable. Strongly recommend them.
