I stopped in to try their egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich(3.95). The sandwich was made fresh right before my very eyes! My guess is that there are 2 eggs to compliment the deli cut ham. The sandwich is smaller than from Tia Maria but the ingredients are fresh(unlike Tia Maria). All in all, it satisfied my tummy and will be back to try some other menu items. There was an older Korean couple behind the counter. Both were rather pleasant, especially for the morning(Ugh mornings). Conveniently located in Oakland’s city center and not surrounded by hood rats. Credit/debit over $ 10 only.

If it wasn’t for my rumbling stomach, I would have asked for my money back! My advice– do not eat here, or at least don’t order the chicken burger. For a whopping $ 10, I got a very bland and flimsy chicken fillet with a small side of fries and a drink(bottle of water) — the«combo meal». The chicken was very rubbery and hard to chew. I found myself having to use my fingers to part, piece, and eat the chicken with the rest of my burger. NOT cool! One thing I must admit though– the traffic in this shop is pretty decent, so I am going to assume that there are other food options on the menu that are appetizing. Still, I will not be returning back to City Center Grill. I am very displeased.

Two stars because I can’t give them three or five. I ordered the chicken basket which I shouldn’t had because I can’t eat fast food for a better lifestyle but I only live once so here I go. Ordered it for $ 8 bucks. Got my order and my first bite was raw chicken, completely. Tried to ignore it and put it aside and ate another one in hopes that maybe that little guy was not for me but everything was the same. Spoke to the cook and he offered me a shrimp basket instead and well I guess I’ll eat shrimp. Hard as a rock! Bite was not soft whatsoever and well moral of the story is, I should stick to my veggies. Plus my shrimp basket had a hair lash which just made my stomach swirl. So if you plan to eat here, please be aware. Two stars cause at least they tried to better accommodate me with my food.

Took them 25 minutes to make a grilled cheese. Read that twice, and never go here.

I ordered the teriyaki chicken steak hoagy combo. For $ 13, this place isn’t even close to being worth it. The food just isn’t that great. If you want an awesome teriyaki chicken steak hoagy, go to Hoagy Steak near downtown San Leandro on E. 14th. That place has amazing food at much more affordable prices. Back to my order. The chicken quality isn’t great. Overall the flavor of the sandwich is just okay. The fries are hard and not in the way you’d expect crispy fries to be, plus you get a very small order of fries for the price you pay for the combo($ 3 for a small order of fries and a drink). This meal has been completely disappointing. Maybe I should have gotten a burger since you can’t ruin, though, but this meal was so bad that I don’t see myself ever wanting to come back since this visit has been a complete waste of my time and money. This has been terrible and I regret I just wanted my lunch break here. I’m giving this place two stars rather than one because maybe the rest of their food isn’t terrible. I have had and enjoyed their breakfast burritos in the past. For lunch, though, I would not recommend this place and would instead suggest you look for some place else in the area.

Great little lunch place. Lots of options — including breakfast(even a «lunch omelette.») Everything has been well made, tasty, and served up quickly. All cooked to order and they are friendly to changes.

I went to lunch here and had their grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a side order of fries and a soda. It was decent lunch. The fries were good and the grill ham was tasty enough. The prices our fairly reasonable. My lunch combo was under $ 8.00. You have a short wait to get your meal. They have limited indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating is usually in the shade, so it always it bit cold to sit outside. Nevertheless, It is a decent place to stop at lunch. However, it is definitely not a place you go out for dinner.

I’m not gonna lie – I have control issues, especially when it comes to food, and I really do tend like condiments more than the real food at American-style places. That said, they have a condiment bar, so I can be the one controlling the accoutrements, and many(maybe a dozen-could be less) different sauces and dips including salad dressings. The veggie burger and fries are just that – nothing exceptional or special. Service has always been prompt.

Not that special. Pretty long line depending on what time you go in. Everything is prove reasonable for where it is located. I got a bubulgi burger from them before. I think it taste better with bubulgi by itself

-* Very Very Very disappointed I ordered something simple a Cheese Burger!!! The Meat was Dry and crispy it was overcooked the Bun was over toasted and the fries was cooked twice and was dry and dark brown. I will never return to this place please avoid this place and walk on, You would get a better meal at Burger King across the street then ordering from here.

I like their french toast and the egg, potatoes and meat combo(not together, lol that would be waaay too much.) Will continue to get my favorite breakfast items here when I feel like treating myself… even if they are a little pricey.

I’m a little disappointed that I paid $ 10 for a «bulgogi burger» but just got a hamburger patty covered in sauce. However I do like the variety of dipping sauces(watered down or not) and the hamburger topping bar.

It is surprisingly hard to find a good omelet brunch in the Oakland City Center area. Most of the restaurants are geared toward business lunches and stop serving breakfast at something like 10am. Finally I found City Center Grill. They make great omelet breakfasts and great chicken sandwiches and fries. Food-wise, this is a classic«dive». The only problem is that they don’t have high counter seating instead of tables. This is very hard to manage for disabled people. They do sometimes pull one outdoors metal table inside, and if it’s free I grab at. This is always my first place to go for lunch when I’m in Oakland.

I only come here now for their breakfast burritos. For just under $ 5, you can get a burrito with egg, bacon or sausage or turkey sausage, potatoes, and salsa all wrapped in a flour tortilla weighing the same as a baby! When you’re starving, you can hold this burrito like a baby, rock it back and forth and say«GETINMYBELLY!!!» The breakfast burritos here are VERY filling so if you’re not a huge breakfast person, find a coworker/friend to split it with.

It’s really 2.5 stars because I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and they forgot the Bacon… what? I know. It wasn’t until my second bite I realized I’m missing the crunch. Since bacon is a vital ingredient of a well constructed hamburger, of course I went back and told them to give me my bacon! City Center Grill is just another«get the job done» place. I think people settle for CCG because the alternatives within the complex isn’t much better. We’re talking about Panda Express, Coffee Bagels, Salad, Popeye’s Fried Chicken, etc. So by default, CCG«Gets The Job Done». I’ve also had their breakfast burrito — just marginal. I’d rather spend an extra dollar or two and get it from Tia Maria’s Next time you’re in City Center in Oakland, either take 20 more steps and go to Top Dog instead or just skip the entire damn building!
