Northstar Fireplace Services

When I booked the appointment I stressed that I needed a repair of my gas fireplace. The very personable office person assured me that it would be fixed by Peter. On 12÷8÷15 two very nice young men showed up for the appointment. I didn’t know that they were only going to clean and inspect, not fix it. During the process they were on the phone giving a report to their boss (Peter) regarding what they think they saw. The” inspection and cleaning” cost me $ 185.00. I spoke to their boss, Peter and he told me that he would get some quotes and get back to me. That was 12÷8÷15. To date my fireplace is not repaired and I paid $ 185 for an” inspection and «sweep» of a pretty clean gas fireplace insert. I am very disappointed in this outcome. Perhaps I had the wrong expectations but I don’t think so.

We hired North Star twice in the past. Once to clean the air ducts and chimney and once to clean the gutters. Both times the crew was very courteous and professional. They arrived on time and finished the work within the estimated timeframe. We will definitely use North Star again in the future. Great service!

I cannot emphasize what a poor experience it has been dealing with Peter. Two of his employees came out to clean my gutters. Unfortunately they damaged the gutters in three places one of them causing a severe leak. When I tried to contact Peter to come out and repair the damage he agreed. He didnt show up the first time or the second time. He called me to schedule a third time and when I said that was unacceptable Peter became profane and said that he is a police detective and would report me for harassment. Interesting on a call that he initiated. The pictures attached are of the damage you can expect to your house if you use Northstar Services.

We hired Northstar to clean the gutters of our house. They were great and cleaned the leaves etc. off the roof as well as all the gutters. Great to work with — we will definitely be calling them to do more work in the future. Nice company.

I found the company through HomeAdvisors and received a call from Peter the next day. We scheduled an appointment and he was punctual and professional. The chimneys were in bad shape and Peter and his crew got to work cleaning, pointing the mortar, replacing the broken damper, and ordering and installing chimney caps and a sweep out door. He even refinished the inside. The chimneys look brand-​new and will no longer be the source of leaks. I definitely recommend his services.

on a Saturday afternoon. Literally 2 minutes after submitting an online request, I received a call from Peter. He was available to come to the building that Saturday afternoon to clean my chimney and my neighbor’s chimney in our 100-​year-​old San Francisco Edwardian. We had lived here for 3 years (never used the chimneys) and the previous owners had lived in the building for 50 years, so we had no idea what to expect. The guys from Northstar did an incredible job. It turns out that the previous owners had stuffed a cow hide and several bags up each of our chimneys.(to keep the draft out??? who knows???). Northstar was here for 3 hours removing debris and bags and inspecting our chimneys and fire boxes from the roof down and the fireplace up. They were courteous, professional, and even provided us with an inspection report. And they were punctual to boot! I cannot say enough nice things about our experience with them.
