A la Mode is a great little homemade ice cream parlor situated in a beautiful spot in Ocean City. I had cookie dough ice cream, with peanut butter cup ice cream, and it was delicious! My husband had the«brown derby» and my daughter had the«San Francisco,» and both loved what they had. Although the line is usually out the door, and very long, they have a very efficient system, and by the time we got to the register it was time to pay and our order was there waiting for us. Pretty cool!!!

There were an army of employees waiting to help customers so my order was taken quickly without any delay. Everyone was friendly especially the older man at cash register. Ice cream was average for what you’d expect. Paid $ 11 for 2 child servings and 1 small adult serving. Can’t speak to the eat-in experience as we did take out. Would go back again.

Ice cream is good. Customer service, at least the woman at the door sorting out patrons for take-out vs. parlor was not so pleasant. Seems like they need to reshuffle roles for employees. Counter staff scrambling, while wait staff standing around.

We got the FBI sundae with caramel and an extra scoop of ice cream. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The ice cream and brownie is made from scratch. Everything was absolutely delicious. It is pricey, but delicious.

Poor customer service and pedestrian ice cream but above all else, lack of allergy preparedness. Allergies are so prominent in today’s society and to be so disconnected was troubling.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They make their own ice cream! I had the Dusty Road Sundae which is basically malt powder on top of your choice of ice cream. I had the chocolate. Delicious! Husband had Vanilla. He loved it. Will visit again!

The best ice cream in Ocean City, NJ. There’s no equal in Ocean City. Fall is near and the pumpkin ice cream will be simply amazing! Fresh made waffles for sundays. A wide variety of cones, sugar, cake, pretzel, chocolate chip and waffle cones. Small batch variety of Ice cream keeps it fresh. If I lived closer I’d be a lot heavier!

Great spot, family has been coming here since I was three and the wait staff has always been friendly and the ice cream is delicious. Best to get to there before 8PM with large crowds, plenty of parking!

A la mode ice cream is yum! A great little place. Depending on where you live in Ocean City, you can walk right there. They make their own ice cream and it’s very creamy. They also have a nice amount of flavors for a company that makes their own ice cream! It’s not the best homemade Ice cream I’ve ever had. But it’s the best I’ve had in OC. The ice cream shoppe itself is very simple by design. They have seating which is nice. It can packed during busy season and the evening. And they have a lot of employees always on hand to help combat those long lines. As for price, i think they’re fair. You have to remember this is a vacation town. do everything’s gonna be a bit more expensive than if it wasn’t. It’s a great place worth a visit. Come hungry!

Pros: — Friendly service. — Good ice cream /a nice size variety of flavors.(All made by the store). — Creative menu of ice cream options.(Juan Valdez and Cookie Heaven are my go-tos) — Adorable parlor atmosphere. Cons: — SUPER crowded as the night wears on(for take out and seating). Lines around the building are not uncommon after dinner, especially in August. — Minimal parking. If you live nearby, just walk. — Not enough seating for the crowds it tends to draw. Tips: — To beat the crowds, you typically want to get there before 6pm. Afternoons before dinner are typically a good time as well. — If you are going to wait in the long line at night, you are going to be outdoors and WILL want to wear bug spray. The mosquitoes and green heads love that side of the island. — Soft Served is not scooped here, but you can find it across the street at another shop if that’s your deal.

My favorite ice cream place on earth. I have sent so many people here who also now love it. My favorite is black raspberry ice cream or the cookie heaven. The peach Melba is also a great choice.

A la Mode is my favorite ice cream place in the country! We have tons of good ice cream places in KS, but nothing compares. Favorite– St. Peter’s Gate– choose your ice cream flavor, add home baked chocolate chip cookie, hot fudge, and whipped cream! Yes, it’s pricey, but so are the other fancy ones by us. Yes, it’s crowded and rushed. The ice cream and clever sundaes make up for the lack of atmosphere!

Great little place that tries to get you in & out as quick as possible. Might want to have an idea of what you want before you go! Kids loved it!

Order the cookie heaven! It’s cookie dough ice cream with chocolate chips, a chocolate chip cookie broken in half, hot fudge topped with whip cream and a cherry. It’s definitely an indulgence but your on vacation at the beach. I can’t speak for many of the other items because I usually always order the same thing.

MOOOOOOOOO! Yup, I feel like a total cow when I indulge in A La Mode’s scrumptious offerings. But I don’t care! It’s way too good to pass up, especially when you’re staring at a Cookie Heaven sundae: chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a fresh chocolate chip cookie on top. Seriously? Seriously. I haven’t dined in in years, so I can’t speak to the table service, but the kids who run the take-out line are normally very friendly and quick. If they’re slow, it’s typically due to the sheer volume of people, not the employees’ efforts. I love that the store supports local high school and college kids. I *hate* that it’s no longer the best-kept secret of the shore, because take-out lines often snake out the door and around the corner, especially later at night. If you try to get in on the weekends, don’t come *too* hungry, and be prepared to wait. But once you get your ice cream, particularly if it’s one of their specialty sundaes or a waffle, you’ll be thrilled that you came.

A La Mode. Ahh…creamy, fresh ice cream with real pieces of fruit. Pleasant staff with prompt, courteous service. At $ 3.15 for a dish of ice cream, A La Mode isn’t cheap, but there is a lot of ice cream in a dish, and well, you are on vacation. A 3-flavor dish was $ 6.00. I can personally vouch for the Strawberry(large strawberry chunks), Butter Pecan and Rum Raisin flavors. Delicious. The Gold Rush and FBI sundae’s were excellent as well, with very fresh pound cake and brownies respectively. My only(very small) complaint was that the Peach Melba sundae didn’t have many pieces of peach. Sundae’s cost $ 4.75. Milkshakes ranged from $ 4.39-$ 8.00. Banana split prices range from $ 5.75 to $ 7.85. The $ 5.75 banana split(vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry) was excellent. And huge. Overall, a really nice stop for ice cream. One of the many places that makes Ocean City so special.

Stop by this place on a whim… We were«following the gull» and stopped in for a treat, Had a pretzel cone of chocolate marsh and the wife had a chocolate cookie sundae. Ice cream was fantabulous… I never seen a place weigh out ice cream… oh well. it was great none-the-less.
