Dolle’s Candyland

Pricey but Dolle’s has it all over candy kitchen. Best fudge I have had other then my mom’s. An O.C. must.

Dolle’s is still my #1 choice for chocolate candies, salt water taffy and other goodies. Although I’m now unfortunately a diabetic, I still come here and just indulge once in a while — and it’s so worth the carbs. :D They often have a good sale or two running during the season, and this time was no exception. We ended up with a few boxes of taffy, chocolates and other small goodies for not only us, but several family members and friends as well.
We met the same sweet elderly lady behind the counter as last year. Turns out she’s 75 years old and she absolutely LOVES what she does. I can’t wait to see her next year — she is seriously an angel. A lot of people seem to know her and stop in frequently, as several called her by name. She’s very passionate about Dolle’s as both a company and as a representative of their products. I learned some facts about how they make their candies — and Candy Kitchen just doesn’t compare, it never has.
Dolle’s for life! :D
Tip for Diabetics:
Now you all know better, right? :D If you’re going to indulge, however, be aware that it’s 34 carbs for 7 small sized taffy pieces, or 5 extra long ones. Now that I’ve told you, don’t put yourself in the hospital. Or try not to, anyway!

I like that I don’t have to go all the way to the boardwalk to get the candy however, it is missing some favorites like the candy apples. It is hidden away and I was surprised to find it when I was getting my old time photos done.
The milk choc non pariels are addicting and the coconut clusters are the same.
The lady working there was very enthusiastic.

Happy 100^th Birthday Dolle’s… just think, visitors to Ocean City have been enjoying these treats for a century! The caramel popcorn is great! The candies is where it’s at though… all handmade, and delicious!!! Cheers for another 100 years!!!

Yum. Love the chocolate covered taffy. It’s awesome.
