I haven’t been to Fish tales since 1990 and I can definitely say this is not how I remembered this local bar! Wow! This place has changed so much from a little 25 seat bar to mega bar! This place holds do many memories from when I worked at Phillips Crab house from 1998 – 1990,

Really interesting place. A mix of kid friendly and«adult» friendly with children playing second fiddle. The tortilla soup had NO tortillas and was bland. The mozzarella sticks were sub par for even a tavern. The mango salsa was more of a sweet chutney. The chicken nachos had a disintegrated chicken breast sprinkled on top of it. It really was the damnedest thing… The hot dogs were awesome. The crab-cake sandwich was light and moist. The service was well staffed and did a great job. The restaurant was clean as could be expected with a sand patio.

I love Fish Tales! It’s a more relaxed version of Seacrets overlooking the bay. My favorite drink here is the Rum Runner which comes with a huge rum floater and is definitely worth the price. I had the crab chowder for dinner and it hit the spot with lots of crab in it. I love the tables that you can sit at and put your feet in the sand. Its a good place to go at night with your friends.

Came around lunch time with a group of friends. We ordered tropical fruity drinks; coconut margarita was pretty good and piña coladas were sweet but had very little alcohol. For the entrée we all ordered fish tacos and crab cakes. In the tacos, we suspected the fish was tilapia… Not so crazy about that. However, the overall ambiance is playful and relaxed. There’s a portion of the dining area that’s in the sand and on a deck. Also, there’s a pirate ship playground for little ones. Wouldn’t mind returning for some drinks with some friends.

One of my favorite spots in Ocean City. This is the only place I’ll leave my man-card at the door and order some girly, frozen drinks cause they are amazing. The dreamsicle and mudslides are phenomenal. I could drink them all day. I’ve ordered several items off the menu but my favorite is the Thai Shrimp. I won’t elaborate really on the other menu items but I’m confident you’ll be satisfied with your choice. Security can be a bit standoff’ish but I chalk that up to most of them being tourists with a summer job. Overall, the staff is very kind from the marina help to the servers and bartenders. Wish they stayed opened throughout the winter. Kind of surprised they don’t because they certainly have the status and credibility to be more than a tourist-only restaurant. I read on Facebook that the owners relocate to Florida in the offseason and this is the reason why. Don’t know if that’s true, though. Also, they charge cover on the weekends in the summer months which is silly. Fishtales is an awesome place to eat and have some drinks, gaze out on the water and stare at the boats that you wish you could have. They even clear the high-top tables by the bar to make room for a small dance floor on the weekend evenings but let’s not fool ourselves, it should not be charging any cover just to hang out at a marina. It’s not Seacrets or a nightclub. It’s a marina with a restaurant and bar, with cool swinging seats and sand. As long as they’re not charging cover, you should definitely swing by for some drinks and food. It’s delicious.

This place is always very crowded. Get here early. Tonight we arrived at 5:40 and had to wait a half an hour. It is in a marina, so waiting isn’t a problem. there is a pirate ship jungle gym and an arcade for the kids to play in. You can watch the sunset with your feet in the sand from the outdoor tables. Is it just me, or is food always better when you are barefoot? Order a side of chimichurri for your fish. I ordered the mixed grill that had a crabcake, piece of fish, a couple of shrimp, mashed potatoes and broccoli and a salad. The fish was a little dry and shrimp was also. The crabcake was moist, and good and lumpy. It was the best part of the dish. Luckily I was able to eat while barefoot so all dry seafood was forgiven. Also the side of chimichurri helped a great deal. So yeah, your going to need to order a side of the chimichurri. I guess I should have started my review with that.

Great bar. Can’t comment on the food but it looked good. Wish we had gone to this place before our last night in OCMD. Drinks were reasonable at $ 6.50 a piece. We had about 5 drinks each while we sat overlooking the harbor reminiscing and another 5 sitting in the swings. My kind of place!

This place was really good. After they checked out I. Ds to enter, we got seated. Service was quick and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The view was amazing. we sat at a table right next to Water. It’s a family friendly place and also good To hang out with a group of friends for drinks. They have a really good happy hour. We ordered long islands which were the right amount of alcohol. Some places make it too strong. We ordered mini hot dogs and cheese fries which were good. Over all I liked this place, I recommend for some good ol junk food/seafood and drinks.

Good family friendly place with kids sand play area while you wait for a table. Waited 40 minutes for table of 5 around sunset time. Great views for sunset. After being seated, our waitress was friendly and checked up on us occasionally. The fried oysters was so good. Same with steamed clams. I wish restaurants here serve fish tacos with fried fish. Tastes so much better imo. Their fried fish sandwich was good. Kids meals of Mac n cheese and hamburger was good too. My brother and his wife enjoyed their meals too. crab salad was quite large. A good place to try in OC.

This place is really fun. The atmosphere is what makes it. Great drinks, good service and a nice place to hang out! However, the food was just meh and very average. I think it’s definitely a good spot if you want to just grab some food for lunch and a few drinks. If you are looking for a dinner that is going to wow you though, then this is probably not the place for you.

Great drinks, fun and family-friendly atmosphere, uneven food, bad service. My family and I went here for dinner last night and we had vastly different experiences. All the kids had a blast at the play area, and it was nice that the adults could sip our cocktails while we regulated the rugrats. But service was bad and my and my daughter’s meals were pretty much inedible. How can you screw up a kid’s grilled cheese sandwich? YAY: Mango Mai Tai, Bahia Blaster, Pina Colada, Blue Lagoon drinks. Kids’ pirate-y play area, and sandy floors so we could walk around barefoot. Swing chairs looked awesome, even though we didn’t get to try them. My sister and hubby had the garlic mussels, which were super yummy. I should’ve just ordered a full meal of those. BOO: We waited 30 – 45 minutes for our meals to arrive, and our waitress left us high and dry for most of our dinner. It was hard to get her or anyone’s attention to let them know an order had come out wrong, and it took about 15 minutes to get a replacement. The worst part was when it started to rain and we couldn’t find her so we could pay and go. UGH: The ahi«poke» salad tasted like a rotten plum and a wasabi root had a wild night on a bed of seaweed salad and I got to eat the wet spot. I thought American«cheese» was the worst cheese out there, but they found a more disgusting one and put it in my kid’s grilled cheese sandwich.

My last visit was amazing. This place is VERYFUN, good for large groups who like to drink and eat good food. Our waitress was by far the best I have ever had in OCMD. Highly recommend for families or large groups. Lucky for us this place is located very close to the condo!

This was a pretty cool bar. We came in the off-season, and it was still pretty busy. Food was good, drinks were cheap. The environment was really cool and on the water. I bet this place gets packed in the summer.

Drinks are really good but food is very mediocre. Favorite cocktail: skinny grapefruit Bad entrée: chicken sandwich — chicken was bad quality and only took up half the bread. Ciabatta bread was nothing special. I didn’t eat any of my entrée and the waitress didn’t even mention it. Fries are really good. There is a playground that kids may enjoy and you can dock your boat right there. Ambiance ++.

Fish Tales was PACKED and we had an almost hour wait, but I’m so glad we waited! The play area for the kids helped pass the time and the view is beautiful! Once we got a table, we ordered fish bites for the kids, hubby got the grilled flounder(Doormat Dinner) and I went with steamed shrimp and corn on the cob. Food came out quickly and it didn’t disappoint! Our server was great too! Great family dinner!

My husband and I recently stayed overnight in OC, and we decided to go to Fish Tales after a round of mini golf(which I lost, hohum). We weren’t interested in eating; the husband wanted drinks, and I wanted to check out the swinging chairs. The adults-only areas are very nice, complete with swinging chairs, sand, rockers, large chairs, etc. It was soothing to look out at the water. We even saw some fish and baby crabs swimming by the underwater lights when we left. We’ll have to try to go back and have some food to give a more thorough review.

Went to Fish Tales for lunch on Tuesday with a group. The bartender was super friendly and was willing to customize a drink based on your preferences. The atmosphere is great with outdoor seating with a great view of the bay. While the menu was extensive, the dish I got(the Ahi Poke), was underwhelming. The seared tuna was great, but there was an overwhelming gloppy mess of seaweed salad under it. I paid $ 3 extra for the fresh mango and pineapple to be added… what I got was 3 tablespoons of crushed pineapple from a can — definitely NOT worth the $ 3 upcharge. Atmosphere = 4 | Food = 2 | Drinks = 4 | Overall = 3

Enjoyed Happy hour here on Memorial Day Monday. Most of the crowd had left already so we had no problem with crowds or getting a table. Our waitress was funny and kept the drinks coming. ½ lb of shrimp with onions were on Happy Hour special for $ 7 and came out hot and delicious. The chips and salsa was fine but nothing special. Happy hour drinks(bloody mary’s, margaritas, crushes) were $ 5 each. Shots were expensive! I think we got 8 cinnamon toast crunch shots for $ 60. The swings in the adult section were enjoyable to hang out in and the sunset was beautiful. If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy the outside, I’d check this place out.

I came here with a group of friends since a local recommended this restaurant for some good seafood. Since we were a large party we had to wait about 20 minutes which wasn’t horrible. The service here wasn’t the best but not bad either they all just seemed to be in a rush, I guess because it was a busy Sunday. We sat outside with beautiful views of the water and got a tan since it was so hot. I got to try the frog legs, corn & crab chowder, steamed shrimp, Thai shrimp, artichoke crab dip and the fish tacos. Everything was really good but my favorites were the Thai shrimp, artichoke crab dip and fish tacos. As far as drinks I got the skinny coconut mojito and it was super tasty.

My review is just for the late-night atmosphere. We came twice during Memorial Day Weekend and there were very short lines. This was great especially after trying to go to some of the other bars that were a zoo during the holiday weekend. There was a $ 5 cover — not sure if that was just during MDW though, so be sure to bring cash. There’s also signs posted everywhere that say«cash takes priority over cards,» otherwise there is a $ 10 minimum on cards. The bouncers were rude both nights to us when we showed our IDs. I know we were a group who still looks young, but wait until you see a fake ID before you treat us like a bunch of underage kids. The bouncer stared at me long and hard and asked me to smile before letting me in. I tried to brush it off and just say thanks, have a good night to which I got no response. The atmosphere of the bar is pretty cool. There’s views of the water and tables and a few swings in the sand. There were two large bars that I saw and a few smaller cash-only bars that I think just served beer. I had a key lime cooler that was on special for $ 3 one night and it tasted like pure sugar. Definitely one of those drinks that will give you a mean hangover if you drink too many. I’d probably stick with beers here. There was plenty of people dancing throughout the night. The DJ played a variety of music — maybe too much of a variety. It was funny to see people twerking to one song, only to stop short when the DJ played a rock song next. Overall, we had fun so I’ll be back next time I’m in OC.
