It’s an Asian owned business, with a Mexican name, selling Italian food. doughy«New York style» pizzas. Cheap large«by the slice pizza.» It’s «meh» at best but a cheap slice.

This place is 11 minutes away from us… We ordered from them because they have pretty good reviews on Unilocal.I would like to review the pizza but it’s been over two and a half hours and nobody has shown up yet with our pizza… I called the pizza place an hour ago and they said my order was on its way without me even giving them my address or any information about my order… The lady on the phone is very hard to understand and my wife who ordered the pizza had to talk to two different people to take her order be said the first person did not understand her well enough… After I called back to complain that it has been an hour and a half since I originally ordered the pizza we again had to speak with two different people because the first person didn’t understand what we were asking then they told us that the delivery guy brought the pizza back with him because he could figure out our address, like I said before we live 11 minutes away on Camp Pendleton. For our inconveniences they offered us five dollars off our next order, ridiculous…

Absolutely worst pizza I’ve ever had. People can’t speak fluent English. When the the gentleman showed up with my order he got all bent because we didn’t tip him. He could not speak more than a few words of English.

Ok so first off this isn’t new York style pizza. And wasn’t even that great tasting. A large from here is smaller than dominoes large. I got the large wings and that thing came with about 10 or less wings really that’s cool and there was barely any hot sauce on it oh but don’t worry they packed the hot sauce in a little container for you to toss the wings yourself for the god Damn price I want it all done by someone else and those weren’t that great either this place just flat out was horrible. Oh and to have someone with a heavy heavy Asian accent monitor the phone calls is just plain stupid it’s hard to understand what’s being said not racist it’s just bad business and gives the customer a bad time and very frustrating time as I did.

Seems pricey for a veggie slice at 4 bucks each but they made them fresh loaded with fresh veggies! Large slices and crust is thick so not actually new york style. They also have fried rice too!

I’d give this place 0 stars if I could. My 5 year old daughter wouldn’t even eat the cheese pizza and she loves pizza. Threw the chicken Parmesan, which was awful and had little to no chicken on it. Worst pizza place I’ve eaten at! Will never go here or recommend to anyone. Excuse me while I throw up from even thinking about this place.

Great pizza. Their cheese is beyond delicious. If your around downtown Oceanside and are in the mood for fresh pizza, this is definitely the right place

First time in Oceanside and this was my first meal here. I bought the 2 slices and a soda for $ 6 and I was happy! They weren’t stingy on the cheese or other toppings. It seemed like it was made fresh. Not too greasy and it left my boyfriend, my sister and I feeling good. You know that greasy heavy feeling you get sometimes after eating junk food? We didn’t get that feeling at all. If this place was closer to where I lived, I would be here almost everyday.

The pizza isn’t bad just needs to improve on the cheese which is a little too greasy and the crust should be a little more crispy.

The place has been remodeled several times since my last few visits. I usually just got a few slices but decided to go for a large two topping pizza to take home. The pizza was great, well prepared, very tasty and the crust was thin and soft, nice! The ingredients were pepperoni and sausage and they added plenty of both. Not bad at all, pretty good in fact. The owners are a Vietnamese family and before they had Oriental food in their menu but I think that’s gone now. It’s next to a bar, that would be the one odd thing I notice since I have seen drunks walking around. If they ever do relocate hopefully it won’t be too far.

We first tried La Casa Pizza in Oceanside last month when we were staying at the Wyndham hotel and wanted some good local pizza. We wanted something specific that they didn’t have on the menu, but they made it for us anyway and it was great! I have been back in Oceanside a few times since then for business, and I have stopped in to order some slices. The owners are really friendly and even though it’s not your typical trendy pizza restaurant, I really like it for it’s no-frills casual atmosphere and tasty pizza. Definitely recommend.

My family LOVES La Casa. We’ve been going for the last 5 years and still haven’t tired of it. It’s got that mmmm sweet tangyness I love. Great service AND they deliver to a few places on base as long as it’s over $ 20 so they’re great for duty days. I’ve had them deliver out as far as the Edson Range area.

I’ve been out here on business over the last 5 weeks and have stopped here three times. The pizza & meatball subs here are excellent. Does it rival the best I’ve had in NY? No, but it’s in Oceanside, CA in the middle of tourist central & they are still doing it right … that’s what gets them 5 stars from me.

Amazing food, decent priced drinks in bottles, sealed for cleanliness. I love their service because it is always made to order. They deliver only to camp Pendleton and they always make the pizza fresh!

I agree with the previous review about the confusion of the name and style of food combined with its owner — hahaha. My fiancé and I ordered a large pepperoni/Canadian Bacon. The pizza was pretty good with the only exception it needed just a bit more sauce. The crust was soft while the toppings tasted fresh, and it had plenty of cheese, it was a bit greasy but that didn’t bother me. Overall I would recommend this pizza place, I wouldn’t drive across town for it but if in the area or exiting the local cinema this would be a good place to drop by for a good slice of pizza.

Italians vs. Mexicans the epic struggle for control of the latenight food game. The pizza by the slice vs the burrito. Both handheld and both complete in having carbs, meats, sauces and cheese. Before we delve too deep into that lets look at the landscape and location which play roles in this. Typically in the downtown areas pizza is king, by the slice and that dough sops so well and yes the downtown Oceanside area seems typical, but it’s nog Mexican food all around, most open late kind of kills their game here. The reason pizza is so easy is anyone can do it, but you don’t see pimply HS kids working the grills of an «ertos» ever, probably because it aint easy making it. Most people think pizzas and compare them to NY or Chicago and tend to forget California is slowly developing it’s own culture, but La Casa is not part of that. It’s not craft, it’s not cultured and hip or cool. It just doesn’t have that draw besides being next door to many bars, no micro brews, no artys décor or indie music. Mexican food rules the Oceanside coastal latenight food game, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like a slice or a pie at anytime. It’s simple, almost plain in looks and even taste. The service is lacking identity and the catering aspect, it’s more of the«hey, you’re here, I’m here, what can I get you» versus«hi my name is blahblahblah, I’ll be your server, can I start you off with some drinks?» sort of vibe. It has nothing to do with who owns it or the name because as we all know there are gems that surprise and doesn’t the whole«don’t judge a book by its cover» ring a bell. That being said the thin crust by the slice thing can’t compete with places like Privateer or Red Brick. Pizza Port or KPFM because quality beats convenience when all things else are equal and this certainly doesn’t help overthrow the king of latenight. I personally wasn’t bothered by not having the glass case of revolving and rotating pizza’s that most slice places use. I found the crust a little doughy and uneven, but not in the coal or brick oven way. I thought the sauce was a little bitter(too much paste), the cheese could have been fresher, but they do have quite a few ingredients and different pies throughout the day. It’s got the location to succeed, the menu to compete, but the game has changed everywhere except true urban metropolis’. We want craft beer, we want brick or stone oven pizza’s and if your going to have it by the slice, you better be moving through dough like sports players. I’m not a fan of artisanal things, but the regentrification of Tremont starts with beer and late-night starts with quality then convenience, unless your drunk then it’s all fair game. Pizza is fair.

This pizzeria does not do enough with their interpretation of NY-style pizza to convince me that they are genuine. Because Oceanside gets a lot of foot traffic on the weekends and during the summer, the ability to generate cash flow by just claiming to be something is enough it seems. However, upon thorough inspection, I have no qualms in reporting that I’ve had better NY-style pizza at Pizza Hut. But the whole thing is so crazy. Let’s break it down shall we? 1. The name of the restaurant is Spanish. 2. The owners are Vietnamese 3. The pizza barely qualifies as such. The only reason I don’t give this place a 1-star rating is because they provided all the necessary pizza condiments for my disposal: garlic powder parmesan cheese red pepper flakes oregano And it’s kinda crazy that spices are their saving grace. Not even their 2 slices and a soda for $ 6 combo could save them! Get it together…
