If I lived here, I’d be a regular. We had the Thai peanut & spicy bourbon buffalo wings. Both delicious, but the Thai needed some sauce or something to give it some punch. The fries were so ridiculous. I’m giving space to talk about the fries. That’s how GOOD they were. Crispy, pef ct salt, soft in the center, not greasy or oily, just straight delicious. We left none. Beef sliders, with a toasted bun and crispy bacon that wasn’t a bit oily, were amazing. The beer was soooo good(coooold) and we got a stout brewed especially for this place with brittle, YESPLEASE. Service was excellent. If I am back in Oside, you’ll find me at Mission Bar & Grill!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday around 1130 and it wasn’t that busy. Since it is located right off of mission the parking can be a little full so you may have to park around the block. They have bike racks out front so you can ride your bike there and lock it up while you go in for a drink or food. We were greeted right away when we sat down with menus. We ended up ordering a Bloody Mary and a beer, which came out rather quickly! The Bloody Marry was pretty tasty and had a nice little spice kick to it. We ended up ordering the biscuits and gravy along with the stuffed meat balls. The food didn’t take that long to come out so the wait was minimal. The biscuits and gravy came with to eggs on top of the biscuits, 3 pieces of bacon, and hash browns. The biscuits were rather small, but good as they were sitting in the gravy. It was nice to have the eggs on top so you could get a nice bite of eggs, biscuits and gravy. The biscuits weren’t the most flavorful, but with the eggs and gravy it was very tasty! The hash browns appeared to be burnt, but were actually nice and crispy. The bacon was cooked perfectly so it was a very nice meal! The stuffed meat balls seemed to be a little dry so you had to dip them in the sauce that came with roasted garlic marinara and fettuccine. The sauce was pretty good and the fettuccine was nicely cooked. For dessert we decided to get the adult float with peanut butter stout. The cocoa whipped cream wasn’t my favorite and could have just been ok with all vanilla, but that is just my personal preference. Overall a good experience and i would totally come back here again to eat!

This is a nice little local bar with decent food and decent selection of local brews. It is also know as a whiskey bar with a broad selection to choose from. Nothing«Special» but very solid choice. Not room for big groups but a great place to stop in. I had the Bison Burger and it was good but not great. It came with shoe string fries that were plentiful but average. In the future I would stop in for an Old Fashioned but not for dinner.

Even though its a bit pricey here, the quality of food and drinks is definitely on point! There happy hour is 3−6pm and I ordered there crab cakes and calamari. To wash it down I ordered the ginger vodka martini(SOOOOOGOOD!) The crab cakes came in a slider form(2 crab cake sliders) which was mehhh. There calamari on the other hand was much different that any fried calamari that I normally get, instead of the small chewy rings, it looked more like fish sticks lol but it was definitely not chewy which is good! It came with a dipping sauce which seemed to pair ok, I highly recommend squeezing the lemon juice over the entire calamari batch before munching on these bad boys :) that alone is much tastier than dipping it in there sauce. for two drinks and two shareable appetizers it cost me $ 40. Not too bad for a a nice clean bar and attentive service. Overall, its a great place to take a date, friends or even fly solo. I probably wouldnt expect to spend money on food here since its pretty pricey, but the drink are top notch!(two thumbs up)

Amazing service and the most delicious food! Ahhhhhhh The lamb burger was amazing! I can’t wait to have it again. The fries were also delicious with a side of ketchup that I barely needed. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They were open to all our questions and comments. We were lucky to talk to the chef who was very passionate about the menu he created. What a great experience I can’t wait to go back!

Holy crap… First of all, they support locals. From their beer to the garnish they put on their plates, they try to support their community in their business which gets kudos from us. But none of that means squat if you can’t choke down the food. I did in fact choke, but it was from trying to shove the food in my mouth faster than my boyfriend so I could get my equal share. Foods we have had: Ahi sandwich — so good. Juicy and the fish wasn’t fishy. The wasabi aioli wasn’t too strong and the bun had as much flavor as the meat. Bison burger — yum! Juicy, big and full of flavor. You could tell it wasn’t a regular old cow burger. Wings — oh. em. gee. Yeah, get the Caribbean Jerk and the mango jalapeño and be prepared to battle over who gets the last one. Braised short ribs — I have no words. Just eat it. Stuffed chicken — Yep. Get in my belly… NOW! Stuffed mushrooms — needed a tiny amount of salt but they were fantastic too. And to top it all off, they carry Breakwater Brewery’s Rasbiscus Mead(along with a bunch of other local breweries) which makes me a happy girl. Just go and enjoy. Your welcome. Update 12⁄2015: We have now eaten almost everything on their menu. And tried all the beers. Or we try to keep up on them. It’s a lot of work, but some one has to do it. ;-) The bruschetta is so awesome. The crab sliders are to die for and they are bringing back their alligator gumbo this weekend which is so good my mouth is watering right now. We didn’t care for the stuffed meatballs but that’s really the only thing we haven’t revisited on the menu. Can you tell this is our new favorite place?

I walked by this place a dozen times before I made a point to go. The business has a lot of curb appeal. Big wooden beam, garage doors, comfortable chairs for lounging, booths and high tables. A little bit of something for everyone. What I love the most is the casual staff. They enjoy their job and it shows. They are passionate about all the local beers that they serve, and I had a blast sampling and drinking while I enjoyed a football game. Only downside is the food portions aren’t great for what you pay. Tastes delicious, but a bit pricy. If you’ve driven or walked by considering going, make a point to go. This is a hidden gem in downtown Oceanside.

It’s been about a week since mine and my husband’s first(and last) visit to Mission Avenue Bar and Grill, and I’m still trying to figure out whether we were being punked. We arrived on a Saturday night and it appeared to be eerily uncrowded. There were a good handful of people sitting at the bar, but more than half of the tables were empty, which we initially took as a stroke of great luck thinking we must have just missed the dinner rush and had gotten there prior to the more boozy crowd. No one greeted us and the bouncer looking dude out front didn’t even acknowledge our existence as we walked into the patio — not sure why he was even there? Things were definitely NOT getting wild in there. So, after awkwardly standing on the patio for a minute or so waiting to be given some sort of seating instruction, we picked one of the several empty tables and took a seat. 5+ minutes passed and we were still not greeted, nor were we offered a menu. Finally, a guy whom appeared to be employed solely to hand out menus dropped a couple off at our table. After another 5 minutes or so, our server arrived to take drink orders. We each asked for a water, and my husband ordered a beer. 15 minutes later(I swear, I’m not exaggerating), my husband’s beer still had yet to arrive. What do you call a bar that doesn’t serve alcohol to its patrons? Mission Avenue Bar and Grill, apparently. After watching our server visit her other two tables, she stopped by and asked us if we’d like to order some food, to which my husband responded, «Sure, but how ’bout that beer?» Server: «Oh, I’m really sorry! I’ll go get that for you.» We brushed it off, said it was fine, and ordered our food. Here’s the kicker — we haven’t seen the beer we ordered for 20+ minutes now… shouldn’t that be your first stop after you finish taking our order?! Apparently not. Our server stopped off at her other tables before finally sending someone to drop off our beer. Super lame. Food arrived, it was underwhelming. I had the quinoa burger(dry patty garnished with soggy, old tomatoes), and my husband got the roasted Portobello and polenta which was pretty good, but the red pepper sauce everything was swimming in was majorly overpowering. When the bill arrived, our server didn’t even offer to comp the beer we waited over 20 minutes for. Major fail of a dining experience. Definitely would not recommend.

Adam, yes that’s his name. This is the gentleman you want to be around when you’re here. He’s so friendly and he remembered my husbands drink during a busy shift. Both times that Adam has recommended food to us, it’s been spot on. Eat everything here. Feel relaxed, watch the cool stuff on the tv’s that are everywhere, DRINKTHEBEER and have a good effin time! Cheers!

We’ve been here several times now since it first opened. The location is great, the look and feel of the place is also perfect for the location. Open garage door style windows on the front, large patio. Large bar. The patio is sometimes alright to sit on. Sometimes it’s filled with smokers. Sometimes it is not. The service is CONSISTENTLYINCONSISTENT. Every time we have been there, we have an issue trying to chase down a server for drink refills, to place an order, the bill, etc. Not every time we need something, if it was that bad we would not still go there. But each time we’ve been there, that«missing server» situation presents itself at some point. We like the Bourbon Buffalo Wings, the burgers are good and interesting(Bison)…more than your average burger. The Calamari is decent. The menu is not that large, I think it could use a little more in the variety, but everything is pretty good for the most part. The service is not bad — as in the servers are not rude or anything like that — but just kinda slack.

Not the best place I’ve ever eaten at for happy hour food, but the company was superb :) Arrived here around 4:00pm and they had 94.9 in the building giving away free concert tickets every hour. The food was pricey and the food was mediocre. The wings just had sauce piled on them, the watermelon salad was overdressed and they actually messed up our order. The location is nice, and sitting outside in this weather was amazing, but $ 35 later I felt robbed. *I might just go back to have a beer and watch the sunset with some friends soon
