Kush Hookah Lounge

Cannot believe that they closed this place. Absolutely one of my favorite chill spots in OKC. Their flavors are smooth and lingering strong. Prices are what you would expect relative to any hookah place. Hope that this place reopens someday.

Saturday, April 26, 2014 I attended Kush lounge with 4 of my sorority sisters. They came in from out of town and I wanted to show then a nice time. I have been to Kush about 10 time and the service was great but this day was totally different.
We arrived at the Kush Lounge around 12:30am, there was a $ 5.00 cover charge (we paid with no problem). The seats were in disarray so we arranged the tables in the corner of the venue with no help from the staff. We sat at our table about 10 minutes before we had to flag down a waitress for a menu. (Keep in mind there were 5 people behind the bar smoking hookah and looking around including the manager).We ordered a Pirates Cove and Blue Mist hookah. (Pirates Cove is my favorite flavor so I order it every time).
It took about 5 – 10 minutes for the hookahs to arrive to the table. By this time it was about 1:00am. We tried smoking the Pirates Cove hookah but the smoke was not coming out of the tubes properly. It was a struggle trying to smoke the hookah. When we smoked the Blue Mist hookah it worked properly. After waving my hand for about 3 minutes we finally caught the attention of one of the 5 waitresses smoking behind the bar. We informed her that the Hookah was not working properly and we would like to exchange the type of hookah being used due to the fact it was malfunctioning. She took the holes and inhaled. We asked her how was she able to get the smoke out of the tubes properly, she stated that we have to suck harder.
We asked if we can get different hoses or a stronger flavor. She took the hookah and stated that she will have to ask her manager. She came back to the table and stated that her manager said we will have to pay for a refill if we get a different flavor. So we asked for the manager to come to the table. She states that we would have to pay $ 15 for a different flavor. (Keep in mind we only smoked it one time). I asked her if she could change out the hoses and bring us back the hookah she just removed from the table. She stated she will do that. The waitress returned to the table with the same hookah same holes. We kept the hookah and just sucked harder (10 times as harder then what we have to do for the Blue Mist) per the advice of the waitress.
Now it’s about 1:10 am, we finally started to have fun by smoking and dancing for about 15 minutes. We noticed both hookahs were not smoking anymore and the coals had burned out. We waved over to a Kush employee for a refill on the coals. He went to get the coals from the back and was told by another employee to turn around. At this time it is around 1:30 am and per their hours of service Kush Lounge does not close until 2 am. Not saying anything to us. The waitress return to the table with the bill.
We asked the waitress about refilling our coals again after receiving our bill. She stated they stop service at 1:30am and made us pay full price for half the service.

Poorly ran. «Manager» has no managerial skills, people skills, nor customer service skills. Quite comical. A bar is the only reason this ghetto mess is still open. One star only because its required on Unilocal

Absolutely horrible. I don’t suggest going there to anyone. They are not very knowledgeable at all and they are very overpriced, as well as bad customer service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I absolutely love Kush!
First, the food’s amazing. It’s not to spicy (unless you ask for it that way), nor is it bland by any means. Super flavorful, and the meat is always cooked perfectly. I’ve had most items on the menu and if you get a chance to stop by, you absolutely must have the hummus!
Then, of course, is the hookah. It is the BEST. I’m not a big fan of using all-​caps, but it’s definitely necessary here. I’ve had several mixes, suggested by the owner. Grape-​lemon is another must-​try. Also, their house special, the «Kush Mix» is fantastic. It is a bit more than the other flavors, but worth it every time. It’s always the first flavor my friends and I get, and then try other ones on our next bowl.
Overall, the staff is great and very knowledgeable about hookah and drinks — their alcohol selection isn’t bad at all either. I don’t drink, but my friends are always satisfied with their choices. The scene is extremely chill. Nice enough to take someone on a date, but chill enough to go with friends. On Thursday and Friday nights they have a live DJ, who’s always great. I’m not sure how it is on Saturdays (haven’t had a chance to try it on Saturday night yet), but I’m sure it won’t disappoint.
One more thing. Not to knock on the other hookah places in Oklahoma, but Kush is by far my favorite!
