This is my third time coming to The Thai Kitchen, and I’m ashamed that I haven’t reviewed this place sooner. I’m gonna start with the people: simply put, these are the some of the nicest people I’ve ever interacted with! From the front counter to the busboys to the cooks… everyone is so friendly! Now… the food. THEFOOD. The food is MAGNIFICENT. My mouth salivates when I think about the lunch buffet. The dinner menu is nothing to sneeze at. Thai food, If you don’t know, is SPICY. But it’s a GOOD spicy. It’s the kind of food that, once you try it, it’ll have you HOOKED! I love coming here and the feel of the restaurant is diner-divey. It’s a very unassuming place that you may miss when driving in downtown Oklahoma, but when you’re close to Dean A. McGee and 3rd street, look for the sign at the top and have $ 1.50 ready for parking. You’re gonna need all the time you can give to enjoy every bite of this food!

It’s located downtown, so parking can be a hassle. The lunch dish I ordered was fairly priced but just OK. I enjoyed more bites from my boyfriends plate than my own. Now I know to order Phat Spicy next time… If there’s a next time. I understand that it’s a hole in the wall, but its lacking major points in cleanliness!

I don’t know what to say about Thai Kitchen. I love their food and could eat the phat spicy every day but the problem I have with Thai Kitchen is consistency. The place just varies to much for me on their food. When cooked right, damn it’s good but can be dry sometimes, over spiced another, under spiced another. I know it seems picky but truly I eat it every time because that being said it is still good but needs to be consistent because if not then the star ranking for spice becomes arbitrary. Every time I order 3 star and some days barely spiced and others could be a 5. Anyways all that being said it is still very good and worth going. I debated between 3 and 4 but I order there too frequently to give 3.

We had a wonderful time at Thai kitchen. They stayed open late for us. The food was absolutely fabulous.

My wife and I were looking for place to eat, we are from California and don’t know the area so weren’t sure where to go. We saw this place and walked in, it doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is GREAT! It’s an older building but it’s CLEAN and the waiter taking our order was prompt, considerate and came to our table regularly to ask if we needed anything which was cool as we didn’t have to «wave» him down! When you Walk in it may not be fancy but the food, price and staff make it such a great place to eat at.

Ordered some Pad Thai and fresh rolls to go. Took about 20 minutes, and the server kept promising it would be ready«any minute». Fresh rolls were very loosely wrapped but very tasty. Peanut sauce was more like thin creamy peanut butter. Not the best, but ok. Pad Thai portion was huge and flavor was good. The green onions were a bit too large and the pork was chewy but flavor was good. Reasonable prices, acceptable food and a kitchy little restaurant.

The year was 2003. The place was downtown OKC. At the young age of 13, I was introduced to Thai Kitchen. Walking in to the smell of spices, I fondly remember the buffet. In those years, one would select two entrée options with Pad Thai or rice. The restaurant has changed a lot over the years, but I’m still nostalgic about it. Really, that’s why I keep coming back. The memories. It takes me back to a time when you wouldn’t want to be in downtown OKC past sun down. What’s changed? Well a few years ago, they shut down the buffet and opted for dine-in. They’ve since resurrected the buffet, but now it’s a free-for-all. You better get there at 11:30 at the latest if you want to try all the options. The lunch buffet lasts until 3, but they don’t keep the buffet stocked throughout the lunch hour. You’ll have to fight for your food if you arrive late. Even worse, they haven’t updated the hardware since I visited in my tender years. I’m concerned about the cleanliness and the food handling. I saw dishes piled up in the hand washing sink when I was there last week. So if it’s full of dishes, when was the last time the cook washed his hands? I guess I’ll keep coming back, with my nostalgia, to eat some spicy chicken. That is, until they make me sick from unsafe food handling.

Someone needs to update this page. I walked a mile from my hotel to this restaurant only to find out it was closed on a Saturday.

Restaurant looks awful, the carpet is old and stained. I was not happy when I stepped in. But the appetizer cleared it all. We ordered fried cheese and chicken wonton. They both tasted delicious. The fried cheese mixed with bell peppers and all melted inside. I ordered phat Thai with level 1 spicy. It’s very good, but wish I could have asked for more spicy.

This place has some great Thai food! Don’t let the looks of the restaurant fool you. It’s very clean on the inside. The service was very fast and my waiter was very friendly. The food came out in a timely manner. Its a very good place to eat! Num num num

Lunch buffet was awesome — fresh dishes coming out continually, seems like they cook things in small batches, which is great. The buffet area is super crowded and a bit difficult to get your drink refilled, but overall a solid Thai option in downtown OKC. I will definitely be a regular.

We hit the lunch buffet. Good selection and it wasn’t too crowded. Enough people were there to reassure us it was legit. Pad Thai was mediocre at best but the curries and egg rolls and chicken/veg were pretty good.

If I’m being honest with myself I should not have eaten Thai food in Oklahoma City. The restaurant is a hole in the wall and easy to miss. I should have walked out when I was greeted by a white chef but hey given the reviews I decided to stay. I started by ordering the Tom Kha Kai soup. It was much thicker than I was used to and had an interesting flavor but was just ok. For dinner I got Phat Nam Prick Pao. It’s hard to say how it tasted because it looks like a bottle of chili pepper flakes exploded on my plate. There was literally a pile on the side. I could only eat half of it before my sinuses and stomach had enough. They ran out of the beer I wanted by 5p. All was saved when I saw mango sticky rice on the menu but I was informed the menu was not up to date and that was an item no longer being sold. To top it all off we had an awful server. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was brand new. We never got waters, any time we had a request or ordered something it took us repeating ourselves 3 times before he remembered. He only had 2 tables. We asked him to split the check 3x and he even repeated our request back to us but we got a single check. If you are visiting do the smart thing and eat local American food.

Very authentic and love the location. I got the tofu pad Thai. It was good but not awesome, lacking a little flavor. Also for reference, I asked for medium spice and it was pretty mild.

Best Thai In Town! We eat here so much for lunch we’ve become regulars and they know what we’re going to order even before we do! Buffet gives you the opp to try all their yummy creations for under $ 10 but we always choose to order off their menu. Pad Thai and Panang Curry are my two favs on the menu. This is not a fancy place but that means their food is even more scrumptious. Great place to get in and out for a quick work bite! Plus they have Thai beers you can’t find in most other OKC locations like Singha and Chang. Love this place and the people who run the business!

I am such a big fan of Thai Kitchen! I came across it when I worked in the area and I’m so glad I did. My first few trips I ordered off the menu but I recently had the lunch buffet. Somehow I thought the buffet couldn’t be that good because I feel like Thai needs to be consumed soon after it is cooked. Thankfully it’s all fresh because they have to replenish everything so quickly! It was great to get a variety and try some things I haven’t had before. There are these fried triangles with some kind of filling, not even sure what, that were amazing. Also, I have a serious dilemma every time I have to decide between a noodle dish like pad Thai or pad see ew and a curry dish. I love being able to have both! Don’t come here expecting anything fancy, but you will get some damn good Thai food.

This is a great hole in the wall Thai buffet for lunch in the Okc downtown business district. Don’t expect a fancy atmosphere or any frills as it is a bit of a dive but it has a yummy and satisfying lunch buffet… and I’m not even big into buffets. It’s a must try for anyone working downtown. You won’t go away hungry.

Soooo yummy! Their lunch menu is only $ 6.99. You get a great selection plus eggroll or soup. The ladies there are so nice. We came around late, after 2pm so they ran out of some things, but offered us substitutes. The food is excellent! The Panang curry was delicious and the spicy noodles(can’t remember the exact name) was so flavorful! The buffet was closed by the time we got there, but we will definitely come back to try it. In fact, I’m salivating just thinking about the food, now!

It kind of blows my mind how anyone could give Thai Kitchen less than five stars. It is so good. So. Good. My mom told me about this place a few years ago, and I have only been a few times but it is a hidden gem downtown. Yes, warn your guests that it’s a bit grungy, but once they taste the food, it won’t even matter. The holes in the wall are sometimes the best restaurants! The weekday lunch buffet is phenomenal. You can pretty much sample the entire menu for less than $ 10. My favorites from the buffet were the jalapeño chicken, which was sauteed with bell peppers, onions and jalapenos, and the spicy chicken, which was just lightly breaded and cooked in some goodness. Pad Thai is my favorite Thai dish, and it was great as well with some of the chicken dishes mixed in. Green beans were good, spring rolls were good, and I tried the red and yellow curry — both delicious. Surprisingly, the desserts were really good too. They just looked like store-bought cookies and cakes, and maybe they were, but the chocolate cake was so soft and delicious. I think the environment is just part of this place, and I kind of love it. It doesn’t look like much, but is always packed at lunch with people in suits — obviously it’s not too grungy for them!

Stopped into Thai Kitchen for lunch today and it did not disappoint. For a hole-in-the-wall the food is excellent, and the staff is always really friendly. I went with an especially picky coworker of mine and even she loved it. The green curry is one of my faves, and today they had a dish on the buffet that was chickpeas, diced potatoes, and ground chicken — it was amazing — one of the best Thai dished I’ve ever had. #nomnomnom I usually skip the deep-fried food because the stir-fry’s and curry’s are so much more worth the calories. It does scare me a little that a Thai buffet this good is right around the corner from where I work. Hear that sound? That’s the sound of me getting fatter from eating Thai Kitchen once a week.
