Sad to say, they lost their lease at this location. I look forward to when they are coming back to OLY area. In the mean time, check them out in Yelm.

Sigh… I’m sorry I just didn’t enjoy this. I originally went down to the food trucks to get a burger at Arepa, and for that and fries it’s $ 7. This was $ 14. Now, the Arepa burger is very basic. I don’t even add cheese. And I like the small portion size. But, I’ve been to the Simply Organic Café in Yelm and their food is delicious(also expensive) and thought I’d give it a try. First off, I didn’t ask, but from looking at their menu, it’s $ 14 for a burger and fries. What if I just want a burger? Or a salad? They have a lot of creative flavors, but what if I just want meat and cheese on a plain bun? Do they have a kids menu with that, and if so, can I have one instead? Like I said, I didn’t ask, so that’s totally my bad. With a soda the total was over $ 18, plus tip. This one meal is now literally the cost of what I budget for FIVE meals for myself. This isn’t like, oh it’s organic so you pay a bit more. I shop at Whole Foods and still only spend $ 4 per meal on myself. The organic burger at Ramblin’ Jacks with fries is $ 10($ 11.50 with cheese and bacon) and that’s with table service. The pricing is the opposite of the product: unsustainable. The burger itself was a bit overcooked for my taste — again, I didn’t specify how I wanted it cooked, so I take the fall on that, but they also didn’t ask. The bun was delicious, but smothered in so much sauce I ended up taking off one side halfway through and throwing it away. There was A LOT of stuff on the burger. It’s not really my thing. The garlic fries, I appreciated seeing real fresh garlic, but unfortunately it didn’t translate to any actual garlic flavor on the fries. Like, the ballpark garlic fries are COVERED. That’s what I was envisioning. The best part was the house-made pickles, which were obviously fresh hand-sliced cucumbers. But, the best part of your burger shouldn’t be the pickles. Ultimately, I just can’t justify spending that much money there unless they offer smaller options at lower prices. I would really like to support them, but with Arepa an extra twenty steps away, they have some steep competition for the quick small meal crowd.

Had the vegetarian burger(by accident, thought it was a burger with tons of veggies, my family did have a good chuckle) and sweet potatoes fries. It was crazy good. I almost didn’t notice the lack of a burger, almost. The fries where perfection, plus they have homemade ketchup. I’m excited to go back and get a real burger. Great add to the food truck scene. Definitely worth the money.

The owners also own Simply Organic Café in Yelm, WA. They won awards for these local grass fed all organic produce burger creations. They come with sweet potato or fresh cut russet potato fries made in Rice Bran/Coconut oil. Ask for the fresh garlic on fries for no charge. They also make their own ketchup w/local honey as sweetener. Bring your appetite, don’t let the price fool you. This a ½lb burger. Napkins are a must
