I’m sorry to read some negative experiences people have had at the Learning Nest. They have been and continue to be in transition and looking for more teachers and staff so they can take in more children. It was great to read the positive reviews! I have been chosen to be the New Director at the Learning Nest starting April 1, 2016. So please call me and let me know your needs, joys or concerns and I will be happy to help you any way that I can. With staff and parents help, I hope to make the Learning Nest a five star experience for everyone! Karen Patton

My son went here for a little over 2 months. I also have an infant that we planned on having attend. I loved the school for my son, he had happy days and enjoyed playing and learning with his friends. However one month before my infant was supposed to start we were told there was no room for him? They did switch directors while we were there so I imagine this is where our place for our baby was lost but I am so upset. I have no idea what I am going to do. I thought we had a place for him to go and I have been searching with no luck to find somewhere else. I have never been so devastated. There was no remorse when they told us it was more of an «oh well, we don’t have room.» They really left me in a terrible situation.

I’m really unimpressed with the customer service. I have heard wonderful things about them and have had them as my #1 pick since I had children in 2013 but due to work hours my husband and I have not until recently needed to seek a childcare provider. I called 5 days in a row to enquire, left messages on both the learning nest numbers listed on their website. WHEREITCLEARLYSTATES«Now enrolling infants — preschool» Finally by Friday I tried one more time. And Kelsey — Director was not helpful what so ever. She did not offer to place my children on a waitlist or to contact me when they did have openings. I do understand that places that are great fill up quickly but I do believe it is good business to offer their services in time. I have nothing nice to say about this facility and my children never even went there. That really does say a lot about their business model and ethics.

After having my son, I had to return to work. With no parents or relatives in the area to care for my son, I was in search of a good place to leave him where I trusted that he would be safe and treated with respect and compassion, stimulated through games and play, and taught the important developmental steps that babies need. I’m so glad I found The Learning Nest. I toured a few different day care centers and they were all fine. I then went to The Learning Nest and there was just something about the atmosphere that made me feel at ease. The infant teacher, Roxie, is a patient, compassionate, wonderful soul who treats my son like her own. My son first had problems taking a bottle, but she didn’t let his tears bring her down — she just carried him around and made him smile, and her patience with his eating eventually won him over. He takes the bottle like a pro. He also has issues sleeping in a crib(because we bedshare at home). We found ways to make him comfortable enough to take naps at daycare — he often sleeps in the swing or in someone’s arms or elsewhere. Roxie, and the other women who work at The Learning Nest, truly care for the kids and seek to allow each of them to grow as individuals. My family is now moving out of Olympia and I am certain that finding another daycare that I can trust to treat my son so well will be impossible to find. I’m so glad we’ve gotten to know what good quality childcare is. Also good to know: every once in a while, the center runs a «Parents Night Out» where they take the kids in on a Saturday night for a few hours and let the parents enjoy a few hours out to have some adult time. We haven’t utilized this, but I think it’s an awesome service.
