I visited this store yesterday, 2/​12, in order to trade in my son’s 3DS XL for the new one and I was told that I needed the charger which I had at home. The special was that I would get a $ 100.00 credit towards the purchase of a new 3DS. Previously I had been told at the same store, I had until ²⁄₁₃ or day of release to get the promotion.
I went in today, 2/​13, and they denied to honor the promotion saying it was meant only for pre-​orders and since the 3DS was released today, they would only give me a $ 70.00 store credit. The man that told me this was the same one I saw yesterday and he never mentioned I needed to do this by ²⁄₁₂. I decided not to trade the system in because I felt deceived, and frankly for $ 70 I rather keep the one I have. The fine print on the coupon is also very deceitful because it states the promotion ends on 2÷15÷15 and it mentions pre-​orders which is contradicting considering it’s been released as of today.
This for me is an example of poor customer service. The people that work here have seen me in this store at least once a week so they know I am a loyal customer. If he had told me that ²⁄₁₂ was the last day, I would’ve driven home, gotten the charger and came back. I will keep shopping at Gamestop, just not this location!
