While at a convention in Orlando, I felt like getting some sushi at a restaurant other than the ones at my hotel. So I did some hunting on Unilocal and RA was the only sushi place that was within decent walking distance from my hotel(a little less than a mile from the Rosen Center). It was around 5pm on a Saturday, and there were about five tables taken in the whole place. So the hostess seated me outside, then I waited. And waited. And waited. Apparently service isn’t in their business model. Finally, after over 10 minutes of no interaction, some server who felt sorry for me, came over to see if I’d been helped. I then was able to get a water and some overpriced, small portion food! I ordered the mango lobster roll and the tuna nigiri. Both had amazing, fresh flavors. Loved them both. But the portion size and the price were a bit of a struggle for me. Their ginger was pretty tangy too. Overall, great sushi, mediocre service, small portions and medium to high prices. If I wanted a snack(not a meal) and had some extra cash, I’d pay them another visit.

I give this place a weak 3. The appetizers are decent. We tried the garlic edamame which was excellent. We had a lobster feature roll which was decent. Miso soup was tasty. The sushi was very low grade and the sashimi seemed /tasted previously frozen for sure. The toro is not good. The price appears to correlate to quality. The Sake sashimi had no flavour. They had a decent Japanese beer selection which I like to see at a Japanese restaurant. The patio, and interior are very nice. Overall I would par the sushi side of the food with grocery store quality. Everything else as far as cooked foods and options was good. If you have had really good sushi before it is not the greatest.

They offer a Sunday brunch but they don’t have the menu items ready to make the dishes. Keep in mind the brunch ends at 3:00p and I was ordering at 2:20p. Why offer a brunch if you can’t order from the menu. So don’t go for the Sunday brunch it will be a waste of time

RA is a good choice for decent sushi, a nightlife environment and a fair price. Group of four did a ton of sushi, beers and sake and our bill was still under 200. The service was friendly and attentive. We were seated right away. The meal was good and we were on our way. I’ve been to a few RAs in the past and they’ve stayed fairly consistent. If you’re in the mood for sushi and you’re looking for something near the convention center, I’d go with this place.

Awesome place for happy hour on I-Drive. Can’t beat $ 3 sake and more than 15 menu items under $ 10! Highly recommended for a break from the I-Drive tourist crowd.

I’m not a huge fan of Ra Sushi as I think their sushi is overpriced and uninventive. My opinion hasn’t changed since visiting this location, but I wanted sushi and this was the only place nearby my hotel. I hit their late night happy hour and basically paid normal sushi restaurant prices. Bar staff was friendly but somewhat unattentive.

Had dinner here recently and for some reason the fun and excitement that this restaurant exuded when they first opened seems to have fizzled. I think the location doesn’t help. For a Saturday night, they were DEAD. The server attributed it to the rainy weather. And I think their business depends solely on tourists and any big conventions in town. So I’m sure they are doing ok but we were just puzzled that we were the only ones there around 9p on a Saturday night. Our server was good, took our orders promptly and food was brought out quickly(no excuses since it was slow). We had many of the same items from my initial visit and I learned I need to pace myself with ordering. The menu is rather large and it’s easy to get carried away. The only item that wasn’t to our liking was a shrimp tempura sushi roll my sister ordered. It had a weird seasoning that someone went crazy with and you really couldn’t escape the taste unless you peeled away the rice and seaweed wrapper. Most of the rolls are heavier and if you’re looking for more of a simple, minimalist menu I don’t know if this is the place for you. I would recommend going online to check out the menu before making the drive and dealing with the parking garage situation. Also, just a sidenote… I noticed that several of the pretty decorative red circular light fixtures were out so that might be something they could do to liven up the restaurant. It just makes me think their attention to detail isn’t there. I’m sure those several lights out make a difference in the lighting, in general. Just keen observation…

Very good happy hour menu! We came here on a Sunday for happy hour which is 8 to close. Great drink and food choices. Skimming the menu, I would recommend coming here for happy hour vs other times since the happy hour has a decent selection of apps, rolls and cooked food.

Seated. Order taken. Black hole opened over Orlando and took all the service people from this place. 40 minute wait for a simple lunch in a near empty restaurant. Despite waiting 12 more minutes after told our items were nearly ready, we walked out. The most unresponsive and inattentive restaurant experience. Don’t remember how many years since I left a restaurant before served, but I’ll remember this one. RA Bistro, I shun thee.

Amazing food and superb staff. My visit to RA was great! During this visit we were sat quickly and attended by Crystal. From the fresh fish, to delicious drinks, I would highly recommend coming to this venue. And if you are there ask for Crystal, she was awesome!

The heaviest and hardest sushi roll(in name) only. It was without a doubt the worst sushi thing I’m ever eaten. Also it took 20 minutes to come it ahead of two that rolls a ½ later we are still waiting on to come out. Couldn’t be worse if they tried Run…

Although there happens to be a Ra Sushi right by my house, I wound up having dinner here my last night in Orlando since everybody wanted sushi and sushi isn’t always easy to get(I guess I’m spoiled being from CA lol). It was a Monday night so the restaurant was pretty empty minus a few tables, probably conference-goers like ourselves. When we arrived, there was no hostess and there were 3 parties, including ours, waiting to be seated. We ended up waiting a good 10 minutes or so before being acknowledged. Even people who came after us thought there was a wait since we were all crowded by the door! Anyways, everything was good until it came to the food. I don’t mean the food was bad, but it was pretty much non-existent for 45+ minutes from the time I ordered! I only ordered a sashimi salad($ 13.95) so I have no idea why it took so long, but another person in our group ordered the tuna salad, and his came even later than mine! Also, the girl next to me ordered some sashimi and the crispy spicy tuna as an appetizer, but her appetizer came wayyy after her sashimi(even after my salad). It was just so disappointing because people would be finished while others were just beginning to eat. I know there was a larger group before us, but I think 45+ minutes for a salad is unreasonable. I will say the salad was decent though. There was a good amount of sashimi and I like how they used more cucumbers than lettuce, but there was too much soy sauce for my taste. Our servers were very pleasant and didn’t complain about split checks or anything. However, the wait for food was very off-putting. I wasn’t planning to eat dinner at 9pm, but unfortunately that’s what I ended up doing because it took so long. The restaurant was barely half-full and it was a Monday night so I wonder how they would handle a crowded weekend. Located in the Pointe Orlando shopping plaza.

A fusion of sports bar, disco floor, and sushi bar, but somehow they make it work. I prefer afternoon lunches as it’s less crowded and quieter. The sushi portions were moderate(neither generous nor skimpy), the house sake a bit sweet — good for lunch — and the service prompt without becoming overbearing. A great meet up location after work or a conference, with several semi-private seating areas for those vendor — sponsored meals. Not a 5-star sushi place, not a 5-star sports bar, but definitely a great«new» location!

I cannot remember how I learned about this place, whether it was on Unilocal or a Facebook post, but schlepped my happy behind to the other side of town in a monsoon to check it out. When you walk in, the atmosphere is really cool. It’s sleek, modern, trendy and you think, «Oh yeah, this is gonna be good!» My friend and I got there just before happy hour ended(which is 7pm, BTW) so we were able to still order off that menu. They have great HH selections for both food and drinks and we ordered WAY too much! Vivi Las Vegas Roll — This was good, but only 5 pieces in the roll. Tootsy Maki Roll — so so Crunchy Calamari Roll — It tasked like a shrimp tempura roll. It was ok, nothing spectacular. RA Llipop — This one was really good! Philadelphia Roll — Good, basic roll. Garlic Edamame — AMAZING! Edamame Wontons — Amazing! They reminded me of split pea soup inside of a fried wonton. All in all, it was okay. Not over-the-top amazing-I-Can’t-Wait-To-Go-Back, but not bad!

Yeah, here I am and I don’t know why! You first walk in and I have to say that they décor is very pretty, I love the way the restaurant looks. The hosts, however, a lot of the times is not really paying attention to guests as they should be, so that could be improved. Then you move on to the menu and as expected there isn’t a lot of vegan options here. However, they do have a couple of basic rolls, like avocado, some salads, and if I’m not mistaken a soup. I tried a couple of the rolls but they were meh. Their specialty roll though was the vegetable tempura roll and that was really good. It’s pretty much the reason why it’s getting the 2 stars. The roll was really, really good. Overall, the look of the restaurant was great, but the atmosphere created here wasn’t very welcoming, so it was just eh…

My friend and I was craving sushi so we came to RA. Okay the food and our server was on point. The restaurant was a bit busy last night and there were tables that were empty. We walked up to the hostess and said hello a table for 2 please. No hello back from her, she just said we have a 15 minutes wait. Which we didn’t have a problem with, they will text us when our table is ready. I get it people get overwhelmed sometimes but in a customer service industry you have to say hello. I mean our server was awesome and the food was up to the RA standards but any experience starts out with when you enter the door of any business.

Great happy hour specials if you’re in the mood for some good sushi. My drink? Just ok. My server suggested I try the white sangria, and it was good, but… tasted a little like chemicals. My fiancé’s margarita? Not even drinkable. Which was a bummer, because most people go to happy hour for some dranks. I’d definitely go back for some sushi, but I’d skip the drinks next time. And I’d only go back during happy hour. The sushi seems a bit overpriced at dinnertime.

When you couple all the wild food offerings with a pretty cool happy hour and cocktails that are just as creative as the sushi, you start getting the picture of the vibe at RA. The happy hour is from 4:00 to 7:00 and can be enjoyed anywhere in the restaurant. The Screaming Ninja, Grape Escape and Tokyo Tower, a concoction of plum wine, peach schnapps, vodka and 7-Up are just a sampling of the drinks available along with a wide variety of Sake. Edamame is always a good starter at a Japanese fusion place, and the Garlic Edamame with butter & Asian seasoning at RA was really good. Our next starter was the RA’llipop, Its RA’s take on a sushi lollipop filled with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, cucumber, lettuce and wrapped in lobok served on skewers with a garlic ponzu sauce. The signature Viva Las Vegas Roll with kanikama crab, cream cheese, rice, seaweed, tempura battered & topped with spicy tuna, kanikama crab mix & sliced lotus root and finished with a sweet eel sauce & spinach tempura bits… was delicious. The Yellow Monkey Roll was all vegetarian with mango, roasted red pepper, artichoke, cream cheese, and topped with more mango and cashews and a kiwi wasabi drizzle. The Crazy Monkey Roll is is made with smoked salmon, mango, cream cheese, topped with avocado, beet tempura bits and and cashews, drizzled with mango and sweet eel sauce. Our final roll to sample was the Lobster Shrimp Roll with lobster, cucumber, avocado, topped with shrimp and served with Asian pesto sauce. All of the rolls we had were unique and very flavorful. I found the Tuna Salad interesting. It included seared ahi tuna and albacore tuna with mixed greens, jalapeño, avocado, cilantro, cashews, wontons, and an onion soy vinaigrette. For something different without raw fish, but still Japanese, the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Udon was a real treat, especially with the spicy teriyaki sauce. If you have people who just refuse any type of sushi, or have children dining with you at RA, the Chicken Katsu is a great choice. Wonderfully breaded in Panko crumbs and a tasty Asian BBQ sauce for dipping. If you want all the flavors of a sushi roll, but would rather have it in fork sized pieces, the Bara Chirashi Bowl is a good idea with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and green veggies served over rice with a poki sauce. What could be a better ending than a Banana Split Maki? It’s sushi for desert with fried banana maki topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit then drizzled with raspberry and chocolate sauces
