I found what I needed(vegemite) and was very good however the price didn’t sit well with me, however I did see a good assortment of British goods and knick-knacks

So I just visited London and my wife was in desperate need of a Balti. The search began early this day and I scouted out several British and internatiomal food shops for either a Balti sauce or paste. Yes they carried British food but no Balti. Indian food is especially good in England but the Balti is this Indian fusion dish that every friend of mine in the England loves. When I came into this shop I was greated by the nice man behind the counter and there it was. I collected the sauce as well as some other essentials. I will definately be back.

Yawn. My visit to this store was possibly the dullest experience I’ve had in my Orlando trip. Walked in during the afternoon and we were only the customers in the shop. The worker stayed in the back doing his own thing without even greeting us. There was a few interesting items; some of which I can purchase on amazon in a cheaper price. Went in for a 4-pack of butterbeer, got my butterbeer. But there was nothing else that excited me in this place. Pass.

These people are a bunch of tossers and a disgrace to the Union Jack. A total ripoff. Everything is overpriced and the proprietors are a bunch of snobs. Make sure you check the dates on what you purchase and per previous review, weevils are something to be considered and not a British staple.

I just received a package from you which is in terrible condition. The outer-box was too small and bulged on the top and bottom. As a result, the inner Easter egg box was squashed as was a small chocolate egg, packed separately. Also, the contents of the Easter egg, are now a solid hardened mass at the bottom of the box, as it had completely melted at some point during the journey. I can understand discoloration and some deformity from melting, but completely melted is not acceptable.

What a cute little shop! I smiled the entire time looking at all the food – some familiar, like Marmite, which brings back memories of a Canadian roommate of mine who layered it over her burnt toast every morning(after unsuccessfully scraping off the«burnt» on her toast). I’m sorry, but why have burnt toast EVERY morning and complain about it – why not just change the setting to lightly toasted and not burn it? At any rate, I hate Marmite, but it was good to see in the shop none the less. My beloved Wheetabix, frozen steak and kidney pies, Heinz baked beans, and oh, yes, tons and tons of tea. The novelty items like the Union Jack G string, and other undies were just too rich. I mean, you gotta love it! I thought the bulletin board and information for British nationals is such a great idea and hope that this can be a point of connection for British expats that live in the central Florida area. I will definitely be back for more!

If you’ve ever traveled to the British Isles, you can understand me when I say that they are not necessarily known for amazing cuisine; at least in my experience as a visitor there. So when I heard about this shop on Mills Ave. I was excited to see what they had to offer Orlando. A nice gentlemen, who was British himself, offered to help me in anyway should I need it which set the tone for my brief time in his store – pleasant. It’s small in size but organized well for what they have to work with. Black, industrial shelves are neatly filled with goods you might find if you were in London. Most of what they offer are dry goods: relishes, jellies, cookies, cereals, candies, and teas. They do have a freezer case filled with perishable items that didn’t sound too appetizing to this American girl. Steak and kidney pie, sausages, pork pies, and a note to ask about«clotted creams.» The candy they offer was cool to see since it was mostly name brands we know and love just packaged differently as if it was being sold in Britain. They also had other candy items that I had never seen but was intrigued by. They had a table of special items that were 50% and included Spice Mango Relish, Muesli(in a variety of flavors) and some special teas. A nice gentlemen, who was British himself, offered very nicely to help me in anyway should I need it. Overall, it is certainly a clever place for anyone wishing to experience what it is like to have their cool accent and/or to make drinking tea an event. They sum it up well with the tagline, «this side of the Pond.»

Piece of advice, or request if it is not in your master plan: Put an open sign out front so when I drive by, I know to park and come in. At best advertise with a bigger sign. Advocate for your success. Dafe
