Went there last week and was very disappointed with the service and food. After getting seated it was about 10 min for the server to surface from the kitchen, empty handed, then watched them clear another table while we waited. When we did order the food was Luke warm. And the serve never did return for drink refills(went back in the kitchen only to be seen at the end of the meal). I had to get up to get additional napkins. All in all substandard all around.

I am typically the kind of person that appreciates quiet environments where I can engage with the company around me. The Whiskey might be the only exception to the rule because I’m busy devouring my meal. Walking in was a little intimidating because it’s a Friday night and people are everywhere. There’s no clear direction on how to proceed so I flagged down a hostess that explained the open seating policy. My friend and I snuggled up towards the end of the bar and watched the cooks do their magic. I ordered the motley cue-cucumber to drink which resembled a mojito and was refreshing. My friend ordered the blueberry collins which went down all to smoothly. For starters we caprese which was delicious, but pretty average. To eat I had the garden veggie with smoked gouda instead of the creamy brie and added a fried green tomato. Honestly, it was truly fantastic. I’m a sucker for a good veggie burger made in house and The Whiskey delivered. Also the sweet potato fries are truly some of the best I’ve had in very long time. Our bartender/waiter was extremely kind and very engaging. Even though they were busy, he was great at checking in and making sure we were doing alright. If you’re in to checking out a new burger place, The Whiskey is for sure worth the drive!

Just had lunch here. 10⁄10 for the cocktails alone. Got to chat with the bartender and he tweaked some of the menu items, an old fashioned, and a Manhattan, switched up the whiskey a little, awesome experience and very acceptable pricing. The food was teriffic as well, fried pickles sliced impossibly thin and very lightly battered, pork belly sliders with a really awesome pimento cheese– messy but delicious, and the Salty Pear burger medium rare– also messy but damned tasty, the bacon was a little too smokey for my liking but it certainly didn’t ruin the experience for me. Will definitely be back in here. Heck I would go back for cocktails and fried pickles alone. Salads sounded teriffic but we didn’t order any, will have to try those when we fo back.

This is one of those times in which I wish we could give ½ stars because while 3 stars may be a bit lower than I’d like, 4 stars seems way too high. My fiancé and I started off our meals with an order of their Bangin’ Shrimp; clearly their take on Bonefish Grill’s Bang Bang Shrimp, but nowhere near as great. It’s not that they were bad, but at $ 13 I just felt as if they were overpriced. We read that this place has some of the best burgers in Orlando so my fiancé ordered their ‘Salty Pear’($ 16-poached bourbon pear, bourbon bacon, creamy brie, whiskey onions and garlic aioli) while I ordered the ‘Southerner’($ 15-pimento cheese, bourbon bacon, whiskey onions, fried green tomato and aged balsamic glaze) Don’t they sound amazing?!? They looked amazing! They tasted… not amazing. I can’t stress enough how pretty they looked, the pictures just didn’t do them justice. They looked as pretty as they sound, but the flavors just didn’t shine through. The meat itself was cooked perfectly-medium and had a nice flavor, but the toppings failed to impress. Now if the burgers were $ 11 – 12 I’m sure I’d be less critical, but at $ 16 I fail to see any value at all. Our server was friendly and very personable which was great, but not enough to make the food taste better. I’d also like to mention the overall vibe; great music playing overhead and very chill at the time we went. Would I return? Most likely for some drinks on a night in which they have live music, but not necessarily for their food.

The food, atmosphere, and service is stellar! The Salty Pear is a must. Cooked perfectly(a true medium rare) and the Parmesan fries… yum! My friend had the newly remastered shrimp and grits. It’s a perfect combination of texture and flavors. The drink selection is varied and created with a delightful mix of fresh and classic ingredients. Be sure to ask the serves for their favorite dishes. They are spot on. An unexpected delight.

Went to The Whiskey based on a local’s recommendation as «the best burger he ever had,» so expectations were high. We started with the wings, asked for them medium, but they were mild if anything. It came with ranch and when I asked for blue cheese, I was told they did not have blue cheese but a Gorgonzola cream that was similar. The cream was very runny or watery and did not have much flavor to it. I also asked for a drink, asked for something with tequila and spicy, and the drink that was sent out was basically a lime margarita, nothing spicy to it. I would have thought they would have at least put a jalapeño into the drink. Now for the main event, the burger. I didn’t care if everything else was not great with the place as long as the burger was good. We asked the server and she immediately recommended the Salty Pear and the description on the menu looked great. First impression, the presentation is sloppy. The burger is placed on a white plate with the truffle fries next to it, just looked sloppy(see picture). The bourbon bacon was disappointing, difficult to bite through for some reason. The garlic aioli and creamy brie did not work for me, perhaps the brie was not ripe enough? Overall, the burger was nothing to brag about, Rok Brgr in South Florida offers better ones or even Morton’s burger is better.

Simply the Best Burger in Orlando, The Royale was freaking Travoltas version of how one should be. The brioche bun, the fucking fries! A Must!

Where do I start? Do I mention that all their fixing are procured daily from local farms? or do I rave about the Royal burger with pork belly? maybe just mention the unbelievable barstaff… these guys can mix like no other. phenomenal Manhattan’s may not be their specialty… but they’ll bring me back all weekend while I’m here!

I really like the concept they did with this place. It’s a long and narrow bar, which reminds me of the bars in my College town at Ohio University. This place is setup like a Waffle-house, mind you, it’s nothing like a Waffle-house, but just how the space is arranged like one. Which I think looks cooler in a bar, than a breakfast place. They have a nice little stage area setup in the back of the place. If you’re looking for some live music, this place has it. If you like Whiskey and Bourbon this place has that too, maybe a little too much, ha ha. The menu is great, with such a interesting selection I wanted an order of everything, however, I had a burger which was good, up there with the good ones, a 4 star, but not quite a 5 star burger in my book. Drinks are pricey, but well worth a visit to check this place out.

This was an unexpected surprise! Sunday afternoon and I was trying to decide which of the many restaurants off of Sand Lake would get my money and my rear end to warm a seat. I’m sure The Whiskey has quite a night life, but I’m more after the exact experience I had today. Sitting at the bar, I had an excellent conversation with Kevin working behind the nar, who wasn’t yet too terribly busy. The burger I had was the Whiskey and it was incredible. Seriously, get this burger. Shoot, get two! The patty was perfectly prepared, the bacon not too crispy or wobbly, the lettuce was not the cheap iceberg stuff: it was dark, tasty and leafy. The sauce on the Whiskey, I believe had dill in it and was a perfect match to the burger. Swayed by Unilocal recommendations, I ordered the Parmesan fries. Thank you fellow Unilocalers! They were not too salty, not soggy, not dry. My lunch was perfect. I had to meet someone otherwise I would have spent much longer and more money! (Initially, I looked at the prices and thought I’d rather not pay that much for a burger. Then I took my first bite and that thought immediately dissappeared.)

The food is great! The Bison BBQ burger was delicious. Okay I’m over Pizzn&Moanin’ about $ 18.00 burgers. These are pretty special conglomerations and I’ve resigned to the fact that gourmet burgers will be $ 30 in another five years . Five stars for the Bison burger; as were the Parmesan fries and fried mushrooms. The 4 stars only reflects the cramped dining area and conditions. Every table has more chairs at it that would be «comfortable» dining; almost to the point that if all seats were filled, you would almost have to link arms to eat! Yes this place is LOUD. Somewhat intentional as the help at times elevate the decibels with a playful banter. Their outdoors dining is really a non option for most since the sidewalk is narrow and only 24″ Diameter(?) high top type tables are out there. The bar was under staffed at the 6:00 hour for the customer demand so drinks were slow. I was assured the $ 1.50 for adding ice to my Maker’s Mark was due to the heavier pour that is included. The old Fashioned that later followed was simply not my choice of «Old Fashion» additives, but the sugar stirrer stick helped get it down. The Loo had me at a pause(or was it the Makers?) figgurn’ out which door would keep me outa trouble. Our server Tera was super efficient, friendly and accurate. Recommended!

Yay! Finally made it in. We went on a Cougar-filled Saturday night. The place was packed. While they have a lot of tables, the walking path through them is complicated to get to many of them. As I mentioned, it was cougar-riffic that night. A huge group of maybe twenty. Plus a couple smaller groups. I got the Old Fashioned, one of my go-to drinks right now. They served it with a Rock Candy stirrer. Nice touch. I also got the scallops. While $ 18 was a lot for 3 scallops, they were really good. The prices are a little high, but hey, it’s in Dr. Phillips so that is somewhat to be expected. Our server was good. I loved her headband.

I really love this place as far as traditional style bars with live music go. The staff is always very cool and very friendly, especially at the bar. Every time I’ve gone and sat alone at the bar the staff is always so very attentive and very easy to strike up a conversation with if needed. The best thing about their food and menu is that they on occasion(I think every season), they change up their menu and have a special offering. If you’re feeling adventurous and want something new to try then give this a go, if you’re uncertain ask some of the staff, they usually can give good insight of what the product is like. As far as their normal menu goes, you absolutely must try the Sweet Pork Belly bits if you are a bacon lover. Delicious! For a normal burger I highly suggest the pear burger, one of the most unique burgers I’ve had. As the name says there is a poached pear in the burger, an interesting combination but you must try it, it is one of my favorites here. The drinks of course are a must try, with a name like«The Whiskey» you have to try at least one. I’ll have to revisit some day, as I know certain days they change up the theme of music that is played and even offer drink specials.

Whiskey and burgers. What’s not to like about that concept? We went with a large group at lunch, so I didn’t have a chance to sample any whiskeys, but we did peruse their list and it’s pretty comprehensive. Only a few really top shelf offerings, but at least a hundred interesting ones. I didn’t see any bargains, but the prices were okay. The burger was great. Most of our group ordered The Whiskey burger, which had everything I like on it, include bacon that was nice and crispy. Accompanying fries were okay, although the sweet potato ones were a bit better if you like that sort of thing. I opted for the side salad, which was delicious. Service was friendly, helpful and efficient. If you visited this place when it was an English Pub you will be happy to know that it is now infinitely cleaner and better run.

I went to The Whiskey with a girlfriend last Saturday night. They were having a repeal of prohibition party so this review may not reflect a typical night. I found the layout of the space a bit odd with the focus on high tops and bar seating with just a few small tables tucked away for dining. They highlight their gourmet burgers but overall it felt more like a bar that I’d just stop by for drinks and socializing than someplace to really go for a meal. The overall mood and décor is great though and well themed. The whiskey barrel sinks in the bathroom are especially fun. I ordered the salty pear burger(poached bourbon pear, bourbon bacon, creamy brie, whiskey onions, garlic aioli) and substituted turkey. When I got my meal, I was surprised the server hadn’t mentioned that it’s a turkey breast rather than a ground turkey patty. It resulted in my overall impression of the burger just being dry. It was hard to detect any of the individual flavor components, but it did come together nicely. I wish the bacon had been crispier to add some additional texture to the burger. The fries I got were good but they were barely eaten because my friend had upgraded to the sweet potato fries with her meal and they were absolutely amazing. I also ordered the seasonal dessert which was a pumpkin and sweet potato tart. It was underwhelming for $ 10. The cinnamon ice cream was good(can you ever go wrong with ice cream?), but the tart was dry and lacked flavor. Overall I’d recommend The Whiskey for the drinks and the atmosphere over the food.

I’m impressed, Orlando. I didn’t think there were many redeeming qualities in your city, but then I stumbled across The Whiskey. PROS Atmosphere(great live music, lighting and décor). Scotch selection is massive Staff CONS My only regret is that I didn’t get here early enough to try a burger; they look great! This joint has only been open for 6 months, and already there is talk of expanding into the spot next door. When inside, take a look around and see if your can identify all of the crafty storage spots hiding in plain sight. Will have to make it a point to revisit!

I have found my new favorite burger joint in Orlando and it’s called The Whiskey. But this place is more of an upscale dive bar than a burger shack. Everything is whiskey themed with trendy bottle lamps, whiskey barrels, photos of celebrities looking cool and all wood everything. Very different from anything you’d find in Dr. Phillips. They have a huge selection of burgers and appetizers. I tried the veggie burger loaded with Brie, Siracha aioli, arugula, caramelized onions and tomato. The sweet potato waffle fries are also an absolute must try. Can’t wait to go back and try more burgers and drinks! Definitely recommend.

This was my first visit at The Whiskey and I really enjoyed it. It is small place so it can get crowded very fast. It is also open seating and were lucky to find a table as soon as we walked in. You have the choice of beer, wine and their specialty cocktails. They also serve food and I was told their burgers are delicious. My friend and I came on a late Friday night, she ordered a pickle back and I had an old fashion. My drink was good and I can say they weren’t stingy on the liquor. Our waitress was great, she was friendly and constantly checked on us. What I loved about this place was the music. They had a live band and they were awesome. In all honesty, this place is great if you want to do something different on a Friday night, if you want to chill and listen to great music while sipping on some great cocktails or beers. I look forward to checking it out for happy hour. I heard they have a pretty amazing happy hour menu. Just a note, the place is not cheap both of our drinks were about $ 20 combined and that was before the tip.
