We were visiting the area and had a certificate so we decided to use it. The look of the place from the outside was not a good first impression, but saw a decent crowd going in to the place. We went in and were seated promptly. Kate our server was very personable and pleasant. We both ordered the small prime rib dinner and had the caprese appetizer and it was all excellent! My husband had the soup which was broccoli cheese and it was awesome… he never raves over soup. but he loved it! It was a bit loud, but it was a Friday night and pretty busy. A band was setting up on their outside deck, but we did not stay for that, but the deck was pretty full of patrons. We mentioned we were in town for a visit and my birthday celebration… Kate then wrapped up a dessert for free for us to enjoy later at our hotel. We will definitely go here again!

It has been a while since I had been to Longbranch and we decided to go in the other night. They have really good Happy Hour prices on drinks and they have changed the menu a little. I had the Sawi fish dinner with grilled veggies and tots and the fish was good, the veggies were excellent and the tots were nice and crispy. Hubby had the Monte Cristo but it was a different take on one. It was fried it instead had a crispy bread. He said it was okay but not what he was expecting. Service was really good and the waitress made sure my meal was dairy free. There was a band getting ready to play, seems like they have bands there most nights. I think I will have to go back for a few drinks and music.

Acting upon a recco from the front desk lady at the hotel I’m staying at – and not wishing to make a long drive in an unfamiliar area, I selected the Longbranch. Clearly not a chain, as the décor is late 90’s Roadhouse, it is amusing and thankfully – serious about their food. You’ll find it well lit, and with the drink specials and assortment of ‘mature refreshments’ you can be too, if you choose. Fresh popped corn accompaniment. Some nights the music on the patio is the star, some nights the people who visit are [as in Biker night on Wednesdays]. Tuesday night has been inaugurated T-Bone steak night, and it was! A full pound of carnivore delight accompanied by a baked potato the size of a Junior Varsity football. Hardy delights to be sure… perfectly cooked and tasty. Best of all the announced price is RIGHT $ 10.99. The service employees are excellent too, with just the right amount of attentiveness and personality. I’ll be back…

I’ve been going to the Longbranch for years when I visit KC, which is often. The service is friendly and great. I usually get a «diet» meal there, which is a grilled cajun marinated chicken sandwich with a side salad(the nachos are wonderful, but sinful!). The steaks look fine, not great, not bad, with quality probably higher than the price they charge. I saw the earlier reviews where there were rowdy guys in the bar. A few years ago they put a separate bar in there. There are two entrances, one which is where the wilder folks are. Don’t go to that side, go in the other(original) entrance where there is a bar, restaurant, and outdoor seating. It is a good atmosphere. In the restaurant section even grandma will be comfortable. I’ve probably been there 30 times in the last seven years and the food is consistently good with great service.

I picked up a filet & baked potato to go one day. The steak & potato were not bad by any means, but just not«good».. . not something I’d go back for. The steak was just«blah» in flavor, but good in regards to cut. The potato was huge but it was actually a twice baker.. ..

This place probably has the best chicken fried steak in all of KC, if it were not for the incredible amount of salt!!! And I like more salt than most everyone, so that is saying a lot. Most people won’t be able to eat their meal for all the salt, sad to say. I can’t talk my girlfriend into going back now. Also, sad to say, the help is really rude. There is a large pony tailed guy bartender that seems to think he’s a movie star or something. Don’t ask him for anything much or he’ll just walk away. I probably will give up on this place even though it is just around my corner and they do have some good food, if you love lots and lots of salt.

This is the first review update I have ever written. Typically if I enjoy a place I keep going back and have experiences that affirm the reason I reviewed them the way that I did. Longbranch. Your clientèle(the lecherous, creepy, social degenerates who are married to you via the mixed drink on the bar in lieu of a wife/friends) should all come with warning labels affixed. They should have to wear t-shirts that alert the general public just how socially challenged they are so that people with a lighter gag reflex than myself can run in the opposite direction. Female friend and I walk in and see same«regular drunk» I made mention of in original review playing pool. He smiles and greets us with no recollection we spent plenty of uncomfortable time together. He can still stand up and put sentences together so we acknowledge him politely and sit down. Order a pitcher of beer and park it at a high top. I should make mention that it is 4 in the afternoon and the place is packed with about 20 men who are already wasted. I step outside to contribute to my premature death and behind me, the peanut gallery. Three slobbering bandana-sporting redneck style drunks who find it appropriate to make commentary to each other about me and my friend like I can’t hear them knowing full well that I can. «Yea blondie over there is too good to talk to us. She wouldn’t want to talk to us. She’s sitting in there with that latino lesbian» I promptly inform them that referring to my friend as a latino lesbian is a self defeating statement since a latino is a male and a lesbian is a woman who likes other women. They call me a sophisticated dyke and laugh it up like they just delivered a Dave Chappelle quality punch line. This situation is seriously not worth my breath or time so I go back inside. These guys are clearly regular asshats so they take the time to inform a fair portion of the bar that we are gay because we didn’t want to talk to them. The only redeeming quality is the service. The bartenders and servers are outstanding, go above and beyond the call of duty to please you and suffer daily in this environment. We stayed for a few more beers talking to the pleasant employees, moved to the opposite side of the table so that don’t have to look at the crowd looking at us and enjoyed our time. Final straw: seemingly blacked out bubba actually pulls my friends hair on the way to the restroom. He reaches out and tugs on it. It’s a good thing I hadn’t seen that happen or they would have quickly found out who the man in the ‘relationship’ is. Thats ground for a punch in the face. Or an index finger to the chest, that would have been enough to knock him over I think. Longbranch, its no wonder there are not women in your bar.

As much as I want to like this place. .. the last two times have been disasters. This last time was tonight and the time before was a couple of months ago. You see, they have these huge loaded baked potatoes that I really love. The first couple of times I had their steak teriyaki kabobs they were awesome. The steak consisted of good cuts and the marinade was wonderful. The last two times I went the steak was bad and I mean bad in that it had turned. To compound matters we waited forever to have our order taken and we didn’t see our waitress again once she brought the food. We had to catch passing by wait staff to get our drinks refilled and to have someone take the steak kabobs away.
