Classic all-American hamburger. The best french fries in recent memory. Go here on Fridays for a car show, and go on September 4th for the DJ’s birthday. He will give out free birthday cake.

We had a great time here tonight! There was a vintage car show outside and indoors it was hopping! If you want a nice neighborhood bar and grill in Overland Park this should be your spot. We started with a big bowl of peanuts and drinks. We followed with dinner which was tasty. The food and drinks are very affordable. I had the steak kabobs which were very tender with a great sauce. My wife had the french dip and couldn’t finish it. So much! Come often!

Rude service. Over cooked food. Décor is more dirty than cozy. Definitely areas that could use improvement.

Went to try the all day Stampede Happy Hr menu. Had the chicken strips and fries for $ 5, fried pickles for $ 5 and a ham/cheese with bacon & fried egg on pretzel bun. Everything was awesome, pickles could have been a little crispier but overall good was great. Service was slow but there was a group of 30 elderly folks so she did her best considering.

Ate here last night… very crowded… the margaritas were very good… however, please hire more waiters… they are really needed… we didn’t mind the wait since we were not in a hurry… arrived at 6:40 and finished at 8:45…would like to try the outdoor seating next time…

Place is 1⁄3 full. I came in to watch the KU game, only 3 others sitting at the bar. Bartender on the phone all night, I have to keep asking for refills? WTH? ! First will be be the last time

My wife and I enjoy going out on Friday nights to relax after a tough work week. In 2014, while on a strict diet, we stopped in The Longbranch Saloon because I knew they had salad and salmon. We had been going out to some of the more«finer» dining establishments around Johnson County, KS and the meals, as I ordered them, always made me wonder if they added extra butter or oil when I’d specifically ask for a particular preparation. This may be shocking, but the salmon at The Longbranch was perfect every time we went there, and we started going there a lot. Also, my wife loves that their beer is cold. One of the things I like is one of the owners, Mike Day, is there. That always helps with service and quality. When our kids are home from college they think it’s great and we often try to meet friends there.

We have been eating, at this restaurant for some time now. We like the restaurant and food and the service has always been good. The biggest problem is micro management by 2 ladies. One, a blonde, we’ve been told is the restaurant manager. The other is a messy haired brunette who is supposed to be the hostess. These 2 ladies destroy a lot of the positives of the place. One evening a newer waitress greeted us and took our drink order. The blonde and brunette came up, thinking we hadn’t been waited on, and asked another waitress where was the person that was supposed to be waiting on us. The second waitress told them we had been waited on, just as we were receiving our drinks? These 2 women continued to interfere most of the evening with us and other customers. Some people left after their drinks saying they weren’t going to put up with all the interruptions. We have watched these 2 ladies turn off several customers and their attitude obviously rubs off on some of the other waitresses. We have been back to eat within the last couple weeks, and the interfence continues. If this restaurant wants to continue with happy and repeat customers, they need to curtail these 2 women or their business will go down again. They don’t need micro managers.

Dinner took a couple hours; we had 20+ people but only one server. Food and drinks were good, but you’d think by calling ahead and letting them know we’re coming, we could’ve had an additional server or two to help out.

Been coming here VERY regularly since I moved to OP In January. It reminds me of my hometown Iowa bars. Everyone is friendly, the staff is fun and Randy Lamb(owner) is a total rockstar.

Not my neighborhood bar any more. Found a hair in my food. Manager could have cared less. Actual said it didn’t bother him at other restaurants. Really? Total disregard for loyal customer. Sad day, so help send a message that a hair in the food matters by choosing a different place to eat. Choosing to not care is a dagger to any business.

I appreciate a place where you can get a pint for under $ 3, but the bartenders here have no appreciation for the customers that come here and the clientele that shows up here doesn’t expect much either. A good place to kill some time or have a night of debauchery, but this is not a place to have any kind of expectations.

Welcome back to the 80s(or at least early 90s). Longbranch has been a mainstay on the corner of 91st and Metcalf for years. I remember coming here in the early 2000s and having to wait for a table shucking peanuts to pass the time at the front door. The years took their toll on LB and both the service and quality of food declined. Enter 2013 and a re-opened Longbranch. Not many cosmetic changes inside, but the food is 100% better than several years ago in the midst of their decline. Started with some crunchy pub chips and cheese dip — a great combo. The Bistro Burger was flame broiled and perfectly cooked with a nice garnish of steaming hot fries. My wife tried the Southwestern salad, also very tasty and tossed in a zesty chipotle ranch dressing. Our server was one tough lady, but a sweetheart who doted on us and the other tables. She was working all of the tables herself and doing a great job, a salty veteran who knew a thing or two about waiting tables. I’ll be back and will definitely increase my star rating if the food holds up the second time as well as the first. Don’t miss a visit here because of your previous history. Longbranch is back with a vengeance.

Longbranch re-opened with new ownership earlier this year, and I have been there a couple of times. They have great food and good daily drink specials, as well as a decent happy hour M-F from 4 – 6. Longbranch participates in «unfiltered Fridays» when all Boulevard draws are on special. They also have 5 $ martinis on Thursday. Speaking of Thursday, last night my friend and I both indulged in the daily special, an 8 oz filet, side, and garlic toast for $ 10.99. I was expecting a «decent» filet, but it was phenomenal. Seriously, it was a tasty, cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth filet, that you would expect to be served from J. Gilberts or other fine dining establishments. I was so impressed, as was my dining companion. We actually sat on the«branch» side of the restaurant, which was quieter and less crowded than the restaurant side. The owner stopped by a couple of times to check on us, and the bartender was attentive. I definitely recommend you give Longbranch a try, especially on a Thursday during steak night.

Stopped by here for some afternoon drinks when in the neighborhood. Although I only had the cheap domestics that were on special(pretty nice for a Saturday afternoon), my companions had some delicious looking sandwiches. The crowd was eclectic, and I would stop in again for drinks – maybe when I could take advantage of the patios with tvs.

4⁄5 — My son and I went — Friday night at 8:00 — not packed but busy — knew we would have to wait a bit but for a Black & Bleu burger that was supposed to be medium but came out charred for an hour and a half? I give up — this is the second time I have tried this since they reopened. The food is terrible — the waitstaff awful and the Management is a joke! You should have tried doing whatever it is you know as opposed to trying to take over the Longbranch and do their menu. Your bartender acts like he is a gift, the waitstaff was all grouching about management and the management was grouching about employees! I don’t care — I just wanted my food and to eat and relax! Both times were awful. I give up on you!

During the 80s and 90s the Longbranch Saloons were known for great food, cold beer and excellent service. But, through ownership and personnel changes things deteriorated and our regular haunt became a distant memory. Now, this Longbranch is under new ownership and, with a promise of returning it to its glory days, I was eager to give it a shot. While back in town visiting friends and relatives we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with a group of nine and were not disappointed. Our server, Lindsey, was prompt, attentive and professional – our large group didn’t faze her at all. Everyone reported that their food was excellent. Burgers were all cooked to order properly, fries were fresh and hot and chicken, salads, etc. were all very good. If this Longbranch can deliver this kind of experience on a consistent basis, it will be a real winner. I just can’t bring myself to give it a full five stars on one visit but watch for an upgrade after we get in here a couple more times. We will definitely be back!

I really like the new owners of this place. If they don’t get better help they will never make it. The value on steak night was good. The service was bad, our orders did not come out correctly, and the conduct of the employees was absolutely inappropriate. The bartender who was chewing on a straw and then grabbing the slobber infested end of the straw before he put it down to make drinks should be banned from serving food and beverages until he takes a food safety certification course. The young blonde girl in black spandex who wore fuzzy house boots and dragged her feel on the floor and hung all over the manager on duty at the bar was annoying, because she kept shuffling by our table, and conducted herself in a sexual manner which wasn’t pleasant to watch while I was eating a steak dinner with my lady. Not at all what I expected when I came in. Are you a meat market bar or a restaurant? I thought the meat market was in the back bar called«The Branch». I wish Randy and Mike the best. They have a lot of stigma to fight off from the last person who operated this parcel as a Longbranch. Sadly, this front of house team is not the answer. This was a 1 star experience through and through, but I give 2 stars because I think these new owners can pull it off, and the value of the steak night special was very good. Otherwise the staff made it a disappointing experience. They wouldn’t know proper conduct and good service if it hit them between the eyes.
