The bad reviews on here only promoting other restaurants and not really saying much to back up their review, kinda makes you wonder if they are actually employed by the restaurants they mention. That said we love this place especially my wife she requests to come here every time we come here to visit my family. As I’m stationed active duty air force in virginia. The prices are wonderful and you get plenty of food for the price. Also being that i was stationed in japan for two years only reenforces the fact of how good this place is and how authentic it actually is to Japanese hole in the wall eateries that i have eaten at in northern japan. Which they are just that, good value and big portions the only thing miss is a good drink which is ok. An added note, the surrounding colleges love this place for take out and the price only adds to the value for college students(come in and sit down at dinnertime and watch the call in orders roll in). So that said itadakimasu

My favorite place in Owensboro! The first place we eat when we get to town! Great food, quick service and prices that can’t be beat!

This is my husband’s favorite. I usually only get rice and yum yum sauce so this isn’t going to be a good comment to base your visit on. But my husband loves it

This place is no frills and a bit of a whole in the wall, but the hibachi food and sushi is as good as any of the more expensive Japanese restaurants. Priced very good because you’re not into soup and salad

Tokyo is my go to hibachi restaurant for quick and tasty hibachi in Owensboro. I always get the chicken hibachi meal– chicken, veggies, rice, and shrimp sauce. Tasty, and great portions, especially for the price– Around $ 7.95. It’s not going to be the best Hibachi of all time, but it sure does hit the spot! I really, really like the spicy tuna roll here. It has a nice twist– kiwi and a coconut sauce on top. The one negative– I dislike eating in the actual restaurant because of the atmosphere. It’s stuffy and many times too loud, but for quick and affordable take-out it’s where we turn to.

Food was great — and the prices are very reasonable. We ate(family of four) for about 25 bucks! Can’t beat it! I’m not a huge sushi fan, but for the price I had to try the cream cheese rolls, which were very good. I had the chicken and steak hibachi, which was very good. And you get a gallon jug(almost, anyhow) of the«yum yum» sauce at your table! Great place — we’ll definitely visit again SOON!

if youre like me, sometimes you just want japanese food without the entire show. i dont want fire in my face everytime, and i dont want the chef acting crazy tossing knives and stuff. went for a quick lunch when i was visiting home, and i have to say, i really enjoyed it. cheap, good, and the yum yum sauce was bomb. definately will return.

I really do love Tokyo! The food is so good and at a great price. The sweet tea is always good, and I love the Chicken Hibaci & Veggies. and the yum yum sauce is super tasty. I go here often! Very fast too, which I love.

Not good. Go to pan Asia if you want cheap hibachi. The sushi here is terrible as well.

The first thing that I noticed upon arrival was how dirty the dining area was. As we were seated we found that yum-yum sauce was on each table. Ours was setting where it was soaking up the hot sun from the window. We were served large portions of food. We left after a small taste.

We came to Owensboro from Bowling Green KY. My husband’s coworker highly recommended Tokyo Japan. He had said it was as good as our Shogun at home but priced lower. He was correct on the pricing. The food was ok. We received huge portions of meat, rice, and veggies very quickly. We were the first ones there for lunch which worried me a bit but the place soon filled. Again, the food was ok. I would have probably enjoyed a Chinese buffet more.
