Not much to look at and the exterior is nondescript that I’ve overlooked this place for years. However, the staff is friendly, accommodating and efficient. Surprisingly one of the better egg rolls I’ve had in a long while and the fried rice was quite tasty. Nice to have sizeable pieces of chicken and not have that fried.

Disgusting. Revolting. I am not kidding or blowing anything up when I saw this is the worst food from a restaurant I have ever had in my life. The sad thing is this place used to be good. What a nose dive into trash they went to. The last time two times I ordered almost made me sick. The food was so gross tasting that I almost threw up. The time before last was truly unforgettable but not in a good way. I got general chicken. I expected it to be like any other general chicken I order from a Chinese restaurant. I was so wrong. The chicken was small bits covered in some disgusting gel like sauce. Mixed in with some frozen vegetables. I could take three bites and I had to throw it out. So I ate an egg roll that I ordered with it. It was tasteless and just full of grease. The rice was hard and bland. The very last time I ordered was a dumb mistake on my part. They were the only place that had a short delivery time. I thought maybe last time was just a bad day for them or maybe a bad cook. I should of reminded myself, YOUGETWHATYOUPAYFOR. I ordered plain lo mein noodles and two egg rolls. Something that would be hard to mess up. The noodles were hard and covered in grease. The egg rolls were just as revolting as last time. What happened to this place? It used to be a nice cozy and affordable Chinese restaurant. I am surprised they are still open for business. If you want decent Chinese food stay clear from here. They are cheap but the food tastes cheap. I’ve had better«Chinese» food at Panda Express.

I ordered Mongolian beef, crab rangoon and egg drop soup for take-out. My order came with rice and a free egg roll and it was ready in 15 minutes. The lady who helped me was so nice and friendly!

My wife and I came here for lunch with our son on Parent’s Weekend. We ordered the Pad Thai, Salt and Pepper Shrimp, and Sesame Chicken lunch special. With my meal, I had the hot and sour soup(true test for a Chinese restaurant). I don’t recall having any bamboo shoots in my soup — oops. If you have had good Pad Thai, you will be disappointed with this version. It lacked flavor/seasoning. The salt/pepper shrimp was okay as was my sesame chicken. But overall, I have had better.

Best deal in Oxford for Asian food. I eat here fairly frequently especially for their lunch specials. Their General Tso’s is better than bistro and I would also recommend the Szechwan beef. Their Pad Thai was really good and had a good mix of spice and savory. Unfortunately the egg rolls aren’t the best and are extremely greasy and the fried rice is only average. What sets it apart is the service which is the best in Oxford. Worst part about them is their distance from campus but they make it up by having free delivery when you order $ 10+. While the food isn’t as good as bistro Phan Shin is better for delivery and if you want to save a couple bucks.

Service was awesome! Girl at the ordering counter was super friendly and nice. Lunch specials prices are great, about $ 5 each. Can get a soup or egg roll with your lunch. My wife and i thought the food was excellent. Definitely will return here when in Oxford.

The restaurant has become much better under the new management. The food was yummy with relatively low price. The manager was extremely friendly and even didn’t charge my friend knowing that he’d move to another town very soon. Nice and free little desserts or fruits after meal sometimes.

I am a frequent customer of this restaurant and usually enjoy the staff but what I cannot tolerate is poorly made food, especially if it’s cold. I’ve had plenty of deliveries but these last few months officially caused them to lose a customer. I called once before about cold food when they’re not even located five blocks from me. After not getting a credit or a guarantee my food would be hot I stopped ordering, but today a few months later I wanted Chinese and guess who I got stuck with because of my location. After receiving my order the food was cold. Heated it for like a minute, still wasn’t 100% hot. The chicken was extremely dry, not enough sauce, and the milk tea was garbage, which I usually like very much. I call, tell someone about my experience. Finally, I get a hold of the manager who proceeds to tell with a half ass apology that it was essentially my fault the food was terrible. Gave me a $ 5 credit when I paid $ 12. BS. Congrats to losing a loyal customer!

This is where you go for quick, hot, cheap Chinese food in Oxford. If you go in with those expectations, you’ll be A-OK. I’ve eaten here a few times and never been disappointed. I’m not looking to try new things, eat a «nice» meal, or be impressed by the prowess of their cooks(this IS rural southwestern Ohio we’re talking about) when I go in. I want simple, easy-to-recognize meal options that are tailored to the American palate. Missioned accomplished! Most recently, we ordered 6 or 7 meals to share among 8 people. Everyone dug in and enjoyed it, sampling a bit of each dish they liked. I heard no complaints, and we had minimal leftovers. I’ll be back.

Bad! Had pepper steak, worst I’ve ever had. Peppers and onions too al dente, the meat seemed to be roast beef which was simply added to the other ingredients, not sautéed fresh beef.

The service was good and friendly… but the food, not so much. The chicken in my Sweet and Sour Chicken was way overcooked, even after I specifically requested it not be because restaurants have tendency to do that. The Chicken and Broccoli dish was bland, and basically tasteless, though the steamed broccoli was fine. The soup… the wontons were a bit rubbery but the broth was ok with lots of green onions. Not likely to return!

Phan Shin is the more authentic version of Wild Bistro in Oxford. The lady who works there is always very friendly, and the atmosphere of the place itself is typical of what you’d expect from a Chinese restaurant. The food is delicious, and I am never disappointed by what I order.

I thought the food was average. There were a lot of Chinese people eating there so it must be decent enough.

I may be biased towards this great place because of how many times I visited this establishment in my time as a student at Miami, but my most recent visit still proved me right. I have only ever ordered from the Chinese side of the menu(not for any specific reason) and every time I have enjoyed myself. The prices are low(2 people, with appetizers, $ 15) and the food is an edge better than the regular«American-ized» attempt at Chinese food. Service was quick, considering there were only a few other people in the building with us, and we were given time to just enjoy the food without being badgered by a waitress non-stop. Also great and easy for take-out and I believe they deliver as well!

This place is nothing to write home to mother about. The food is average and the service is shotty at best. I’ve been here on and off for about five years; the most recent gap in time being more than two years. The service has gotten better. All of Oxford’s Asian cuisine restaurants are subpar. It’s worth it to drive to Hamilton for Chinese Lantern.

Cheapest Asian food in town, great Vegetarian options and friendly staff. Never had a bad experience.

The food here is only so-so, and they often got our take-out order wrong(so check yours before you leave!). More concerning, my boyfriend actually got sick after eating take out from here once. Not sure if any one else has had this experience, though, and it could have been a coincidence. If you do go here, I recommend the Pad Thai, Moo Shu, and Egg Foo Young(the gravy for this is actually very good).

This dining experience will stand out forever as a reason to check the reviews before thinking, «Gee a chinese restaurant in a small college town is a good idea for something different». This was quite possibly the WORST chinese food I have ever had in my life. Add to that the slow service and dirty restrooms and I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy. To be fair I purposely avoided the thai menu and it sounds like that food may at least be edible from the other reviews.

I’ve lived in Oxford almost four years now as a student and Phan-Shin has been my favorite Chinese restaurant. I don’t know what«authentic» Chinese or Thai food qualifies as but I still find Phan-Shin delicious. Service is always amazing, food is fast, waiters and hosts very kind. Delivery is always on time. The dinning setting isn’t luxurious but it’s decent for a Chinese restaurant and better than others I’ve been too. The food and portions have always been good and the price is reasonable. If you’re looking for middle ground Chinese food in terms of price and«fancyness» then Phan-Shin is a good choice in Oxford. I recommend the pot stickers as an appetizer and apple rolls for a desert. They also now have great Bubble Tea, warm or cold. Big tables for groups, very accommodating, lots of space.
