A wide selection of choice for everyone to choose from. Tried several of the dishes and they were all delicious. Compared other Korean restaurants, the wait staff are polite and do not rush you during the meal to turn over the tables.

5 Stars for the food itself! Really great stews and soups, as the name indicates, with a nice variety of ban chan. They even give you fried whole yellow croaker as a starter. Only disappointing dish that I’ve tried so far was the bossam, which was bland and a bit chewy from being overcooked. I’m docking a star off of the overall rating since I personally had a few annoying and awkward moments with the staff. One greeter was rude enough to passive-aggressively correct my less-than-perfect Korean at the front entrance when I accidentally used the honorific term to note how many people there were in our party. And on a separate occasion, one waiter, not knowing I was Korean, made a comment to his coworker in Korean about how much food we were ordering, to which I replied in Korean. He later apologized, but it was a bit awkward to say the least. Other than a few strange incidents with certain staff members, they are generally quick, although not exceptionally attentive either. Hopefully your experience goes more smoothly, but it’s worth putting up with the hiccups for the quality of food you get here!

If you want Korean in Pal Park, this is the place to go(unless you want BBQ, because they don’t do it here.) As it says in their name, this place makes great soups and also does the Dol Sot Bibimbap very well. The ban chan here is plentiful and they give you a nice piece of fish with the order of a main entrée(how many places still do things like that? Not many in recent memory.) The restaurant is clean, the food is clean and tasty. Portions are nice and the service is excellent. I would recommend the Gam Ja Tang and the Nak Ji Dolsot. If I’m in the mood for Korean and in Pal Park I’m heading straight for Tang Maru.

I’m embarrassed to mention that as soon as we sat down, odors from the bathroom seem to waft thru the restaurant. It’s a weird mildewy sewage bathroom smell and we were seated really far from the bathrooms which were behind a partition. After a few minutes the smell disappeared and we ordered bibimbop which came in a huge stone piping sizzling bowl. It was a feast for the eyes. It was pretty good, not spectacular, a bit bland even with the hot sauce paste they give you. A few minutes later a bleach cleaning smell drifted thru. Not sure what was happening like if they had a vent problem or what. I’m not sure if I’m returning cause these smells can surely ruin any meal no matter how delicious. Hope the owners read this cause I was too embarrassed to say anything to their face.

I’ve been here twice, first time had their soondubu — don’t think it was very memorable. Second time I tried their gamjatang. I’m not Korean so I can’t comment on the authenticity scale, but I thought it was on the watery side and I prefer gamjatang that’s a bit thicker. Huge portions of meaty bones in the soup though. They seem to be inconsistent because the first time I didn’t get the fried fish before the meal, but the second time I did. I think for the quality of their food, it’s probably a bit more than what I’m willing to pay for in jersey. They definitely have New York pricing. Service was not very attentive, had to wave them down for service from across the room a couple times. So food is average, a little pricey, but spacious restaurant and seemingly clean. I say seemingly, because they seem to have an ant problem. The second time I came, our table squatted/spotted at least four ants crawling on the table and our napkins. Did I eat ant in my soup? Who knows. I don’t necessarily think ants are a sign of poor sanitary conditions, but regardless, they should probably make sure no insects crawl across their patrons.

Hands down one of my all time favorite korean restaurant! What’s cool the restaurant display two giant cauldron of the ever-simmering of velvety, white, lip-smacking broth. This is the back bone of their dishes. We went back here at least three times and all at different times, food and service were consistent and extra delicious. My all time favorites from this place: Beef tendon salad, if you have problem with textures them this might not be your cup of tea. Beef tongue, tendon, oxtail and brisket stew, Superb! Especially when it’s god-awful cold outside. Seafood pancake-oh man! It’s just simply amazing. Soon doo bu-it was crazy good!!! Will be back soon!

This place is SO good! I think every thing I’ve ever ordered has been a hit. — Dogani Tang — Sullung Tang — Gamja Tang — Bulgogi Sooyook — Dolsot Bibimbap The banchan is always so clean and their broths are not laden with MSG either. Service can be a bit of a hit or miss because they’re always so busy. Oh, and I once left my phone behind at the table and the manager ran out to return it to me. Yay for honest workers!

The seolleong tang is really good here and I like how you can order a set with either kalbi, seafood pancake, or dumplings. I got the seafood pancake set but I should of got the dumplings. The seafood pancake was too oily for me. The soup portion is a good size and will fill you up.

I’ve been here a few times, but was disappointed the last time I came. I got the seafood soondubu, which was watery. The server also scooped out the remaining rice in our rice pot(more than 1 full bowl) and took it back with him to the kitchen, which I thought was kind of weird… like where does it go? Do they put it back into other rice pots??? What if we wanted it?!? We also didn’t get the fried fish appetizer that I’ve had every other time, so definitely disappointed with the inconsistency. Despite everything, the other times I’ve been here I got the seafood pancake and it’s one of the best I’ve had in the area. Would only come back for that.

Great place for authentic Korean stew. I had the pork bone soup with pork, potatoes, and vegetable(gambi tang?). I got a giant bowl of stew with 3 large pieces of pork on bone in it, along with a side of rice. The broth was delicious. Highly recommended!

I think I can give this place a 4.5 stars and would say this is one of the best Korean restaurants in Palpark/FtLee/Leonia/Englewood area. They are located in the same building as a korean spa, so there is a constant flow on this restaurant. I have ordered bulgogi in hotpot and also bibimbab in a pot. They were pretty tasty. Side dishes including kimchi are pretty good, too. Would recommend this place if you would like to have some good korean food. Since you can use the parking lot for the spa, it is easy to park, too.

I was in the mood for some good Korean stew and saw how this place had a flurry of high ratings. It definitely raised my curiosity, so I ventured out here on a weekend to check it out. I ordered the soon doo boo/kal bi combo. For the price you pay, you definitely get a really good deal. The meal was tender and perfectly cooked. It also was flavorful without feeling very greasy. The same can be said for their soon doo boo/spicy tofu stew, which was outstanding. It was not overly salty and didn’t overwhelm me in any way. The tofu they used was also extremely fresh and tender. The service was top notch, friendly and helpful. They also provided a very generous serving of fish as an appetizer and while their banchan was simple, it was also tasty. The kimchee was very fresh and a nice compliment to a great meal. I also liked how spacious this place is. Even though it’s a bit of a schlep to get here, it’s worth the effort since you simply won’t find something this good in K-town in Manhattan. They also have parking, which is a huge plus!

Came here from reading all the trusty Unilocal reviews. I came with my family on a Friday evening(around 7pm). Surprisingly there was a LOT of space considering it was a Friday evening so that was a huge plus. The first thing I noticed was how slippery the floors are. I wore sandals and almost slipped, so just a little side note for females going with sandals! Anyways, first impressions, we were greeted immediately and seated right away. As soon as we go to our table, we were asked if we wanted tea or water. Behind our seats were two HUGE pots of broth which was a cool feature to the restaurant. Having rarely eat Korean food, it was definitely a bit challenging to pick off the menu. I used photos from Unilocal to help me decide Food: HUGEHUGEHUGE plates of food! One plate can definitely feed two people. A majority of the items on the menu are spicy so it’s best to make sure you’re able to take spicy foods or ask for a milder version of what you’re ordering. Each person gets a fried fish dish with little kimchi appetizers and a small plate of salad. The food comes out super quick, probably within 15 mins. They come out piping hot and will most likely stay that way until you’re done eating, which is nice. I ordered a bibimbap which contained mixed seafood and veggies which was delicious. It was hot throughout then entire time it took me to eat the meal. Staff: very friendly staff and I’m assuming who was the manager, came and asked us where we were from since he’s never seen us before(I guess a lot of regulars go!). Anyways, the only issue I had was once the restaurant got busy, the staff looked a little disoriented. It took us a while to get our waiter’s attention to get the check since they were more focused on the newer(possibly regulars) that were coming in. Anyways, overall the food was good and the staff was friendly. The restaurant had nice décor and was very kept very clean, minus some of the fruit flies that were hovering over our food. I probably wouldn’t come back again only because it’s a little out of the way and being a picky eater, the foods involved into making the dishes was a bit difficult to pick out(eg: onions, sauerkraut, etc). I would suggest anyone who looking for more authentic Korean food to come to this location! There is a parking lot next to the restaurant which is a plus, especially in Pal Park!

I came here on a Saturday with my friends for lunch. It was empty when we walked in, but my friends insisted that the food was good. We sat down and the waiter promptly approached us to take drink orders and hand us the menu. Two of us ordered the spicy pork bi bim bap, one person ordered the regular bi bim bap and the last person ordered spicy octopus bi bim bap. We were surprised when our waiter brought a fried fish for each of us. I thought it was a wrong order at first and told the waiter we never ordered fish lol. Anyway, it turned out to be a really nice surprise. the fish is delicious. It was cooked perfectly and had some nice flavor. Our entrées came out in 10 minutes. The bi bim bap was still piping hot because of the stone bowl. The regular bi bim bap isn’t in a stone bowl however. I had to wait a couple of minutes before I could eat. It was torture. I was so hungry, food was in front of me and I had to sit there and wait! Once it cooled down a little, I scarfed it down. It was tough, the kimchi and sauce were really spicy. I must’ve drank at least a gallon of water after I ate that dish. Food was amazing though and they gave plenty of it. I will certainly be back here if I’m in the area again!

If you’re looking for authentic Korean food, don’t look elsewhere. We were a party of 12 came on Saturday evening(7ish). It was pretty busy, yet they conveniently seated us on the long secluded table behind the bamboo drape. The banchan perfectly describes quality over quantity. Freshly fried fish for EACH person, high quality kimchi, and my favorite spicy squid. Looking at the menu, you might be shocked with the price of the entrees. Yet rest assured it is well worth it. I ordered super spicy oyster soondubu and the spice level was exactly what I was looking for. This place is BYOB and there’s a liquor store across the street(you know where I’m getting at)

I looooove Korean food in NJ!!! Came here ~7:30PM on a Friday night and it wasn’t very busy yet. Private parking lot next to the restaurant which is great. Got the pajeon, bulgogi dolsot bibimbap, and the gamja tang to split between 3 people and it was plenty of food! The pajeon was thick and perfectly crispy with lots of scallions. I was craaaaving hot stone bibimbap and the one from here definitely went above and beyond in satisfying that craving! Really fresh veggies and the crunchy rice on the bottom was delicious when mixed together. Never had something like the gamja tang before but the meat was tender and fell off the bone. The broth and seasoning are an acquired taste but I liked it a lot. Not very many banchan but you do get an amazing warm kimchi and an individual fried fish. The kimchi had a good degree of fermentation and serving it warm definitely brought out the fermented flavor. The fried fish was soooo good – just flaky and tender. Afterwards they served the hot rice tea which is always a nice touch. Everything was only $ 45 which blew my mind. Servers were attentive with food and water refills but there was a language barrier as we don’t speak Korean. They were still super sweet though. Will definitely be back for the great food and the unpretentious environment!

Food: The Food is very good. I loved their warm kimchi bowl and their Bibimbap comes out perfectly sizzling. Their korean pancake was average however and they didn’t have as many banchan as other places. But that mackerel tho… Price: 5 stars on this. My table was a party of 3 and I would expected to spend about $ 75 with tip. We only ended up paying about $ 50 for our dinner. Great value Décor: very spacious and open. I like it Parking & Finding the Place: located on 10th street in pal park, I missed the turn… There isn’t must else going around in the area but it has private parking!

I heard that it’s usually super busy but on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend it was super quiet and I loved it! Loved the individual fish that we each got. Loved the cold barley water. Loved the seafood pancake and how there were chunks of seafood and scallions like I’ve never seen before. Loved my seafood bibimbap. My husband loved the giant chicken gamjatang. It’s clean and offers both quality and quantity. Can you tell that I love this place?

Solid place in Pal Park/Fort Lee area. Kimchi banchan they give is better quality than most places(read: more marinaded). Their complimentary fried fish(from what other reviews say, I’m guessing it’s mackerel) is always SOGOOD. Reminds me of the ones from BCD except much better. I’ve had their soondubu, seafood pancake, and gamjatang(pork bone soup). — Soondubu is pretty good but nothing to rave about — Seafood pancake is the best I’ve had! Love the scallion to dough ratio — Gamjatang — wow portions are hugeee. this can easily last 2 meals even for a heavy eater like myself. Decent amount of meat too. Flavor is above average, thus why I didn’t order 2nd time I’ve been there. Friend got the bibimbap and from what I spy around the restaurant, portions are overall HUGE, so Unilocal reviews seem to be on point for that. Service is lacking though. I guess it’s cause they’re so busy it’s hard to manage sometimes. I drink a lot of tea and it’s hard to get their attention for a refill(okay yeah sorry sometimes I ask for like 4 cups) if I can’t speak korean. Bathrooms are nice! And parking lot outside.

the best tangs in town. Ive tried almost every stew here. my favs are suhlongtang and gamja tang. bomb. the gamja tang is really big. more for 2 people. also their steamed pork belly platter is amazing. this place has minimal side dishes because they can. aka. their entrees do them justice. but they do give a small fired fish per person. which is awesome. free of charge
