They were the best watch battery replacement experience I have ever had! I had been told by another jeweler that my watch needed to be replaced. The battery was good but the insides needed to be replaced. I wanted to have a second opinion and I made that comment to Butch Hartman after he had cleaned the Watch inside and out, replace the battery and repaired the pin on the band of the watch. My watch looked brand-​new and then he said no charge because of my bad experience with another jeweler. He wanted to step up and make it better and redeem my faith in jewelers and mankind, which he did! I will take a lesson from his way of doing business… this is truly success.

DAZED & CONFUSED. I was looking to get a single diamond stud earring and was quoted $ 900‑1200 (rough estimate). When I went in to shore up the details, Butch said he would contact his supplier. He got back to me within a few days and the quote was $ 2500 – 3600. Butch is a very personal guy and seems to be extremely honest and that is why I was looking forward to doing business with him. But that is just too much of a discrepancy to handle.

Hartman Jewelers provides old-​fashioned quality and service. When you leave your valuables you need to feel confident that your are dealing with a reputable firm and there was never a question about Hartman’s. My recent stone replacement and repair was done perfectly. It was a thrill to pick up my ring that literally looked brand new. As stated by the others, I highly recommend them.

My wife and I asked a local restaurant owner if he could recommend a jeweller to repair my wedding ring. He recommend Butch Hartman.
Never have we experienced such a friendly and thoughtful jeweller. He cleaned my wife’s rings, at no cost, and within a week I had my wedding ring back as if it was new.
I asked Butch if he could clean my watch and replace the battery. He had it for only a day or two before it was ready as new.
We had really feared that we would have been charged El Paseo Drive prices but Butch’s charges were very fair… somuchso that my wife bought two sterling silver chains the next time we dropped by.
If you need repairs or any jewellery, we would unhesitatingly recommend Walter E. Hartman Jewelers.

I had just purchased a new Omega Seamaster through eBay and needed to have a link taken out of the bracelet. Mr. Hartman graciously did the job for me and refused to take any kind of payment. I cannot recommend this establishment more highly! From now on, this will be my go to place for watch and jewelry work in Palm Desert.

Butch does it again! I waited 3 weeks until we went to the desert to have this fixed. I have an ankle bracelet that the «eye» clasp appeared broken. Hoping that all it took was a cleaning to maybe get any dirt out of the clasp, Butch cleaned the anklet, but unfortunately it did need a new «eye»…He refused to take $…I absolutely have to buy something from him…

Hartman is the most knowledgeable jeweler I’ve ever met. Truly like sitting down with a trusted family member. Its like going back in time when jewelers were skilled craftsmen and having loyal customers was more important than maxing out that first sale. Ive been going to Hartman’s for years and won’t go anywhere ells.
