The Private Collection

I had never consigned with a consignment store before my experience with Sally and her staff. We moved into a new house that had furniture which was not my style. Nice furniture, but just not me. I had been in Sally’s store before and was always impressed with how neat, clean and organized it was, quite unlike most of my experiences with other consignment stores.
I called Sally about the furniture, sent her pictures, and she called me right away to tell me she was interested.
She came to the house, surveyed the furniture I wanted consigned and told me what she felt she could sell and what was just not for her clients. And she seemed to understand her clientele’s needs and wants.
Well, within a month, she had sold over 95 percent of the items.
When I received my check, all items were itemized, including her charge, my percentage and a detailed description of what was sold.
I can’t imagine a more professional operation. Her assistant Esther was helpful and knowledgeable as well. A great experience which I wanted to share with the public and to thank Sally and Esther in print.

They have nice items and a lot of inventory. I found an item I really liked, but the price as a little high for a used piece so I asked an associate for her best price. The apparent owner rudely cut off her employee to tell me her best price was even more than the price on the sticker. No thanks. Walked out. RUDE. Previous owners were much nicer and had some great deals. Owner needs to learn some customer service and business etiquette.

What a wonderful find! Owner Sally and her assistant Esther couldn’t be more helpful and professional, and the quality of the consignments are the best in the Desert. Private Collection doesn’t have the cheapest prices, but it appears that Sally values quality and the prices reflect that. There are plenty of other consignment stores in the Coachella Valley if you want very used and cheap furniture, but this store is a gem and worth an hour or so of time looking at all the unusual finds.

Classy operation; if they accept your consignment, they seem to always sell it… and for more money than other consignment stores (I’ve used all of the majors in this area). They have higher-​quality goods for sale, a very nice atmosphere, not junky and overcrowded. Pleasant people to deal with, fair pricing. Unlike another store I won’t name, these employees don’t start packing up half an hour before closing, giving you the feeling you should leave early. And they send a check within a certain timeframe when an item sells; you don’t have to remember to call them and ask for it. All of the employees seem to really care, including the owner, Sally. This is my fave place to shop and sell consignment furniture in the desert.

I am extremely impressed with the Private Collection gallery and how informed each employee is. There are 2 showrooms. I went into the 1^st one and saw a young man at the counter. I inquired about my Asian furniture pieces and he was immediately able to tell me that one just sold the day before. He then instructed me to go into the other showroom and get paid!
Huh??? Amazing! Went to the other counter and found the lady who handles payments and I immediately walk out with my money!
Then 2 days later, I got a check in the mail for another piece that must have just sold. INCREDIBLE! I have had some experience with Consignment shops that require frequent inquiries in person to see if anything sold. They like to hang on to your money as long as possible.
So glad I found The Private Collection.

Great consignment gallery! I love to go to the desert to shop, and The Private Collection is a mandatory stop. Gorgeous furniture, art pieces, patio furniture. It’s a find!

Sally is the co– owner and she and her staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Their gallery is furnished with gorgeous Estate pieces– quality accessories and beautiful furniture. She is selective regarding what she consigns– giving her buyers assurance of her quality of merchandise. This store far exceeded our expectations in every way! We strongly recommend her when purchasing or consigning– I have done both, and will again soon! Without reservation I give 5 Stars!
