The Shrimp Boat Restaurant

The number that is online and on the Shrimp Boat website is currently not correct, and if you are trying to get ahold of them the correct number is (850) 785‑8762 which currently cannot be found anywhere online. :)

It’s a yearly tradition on vacation to eat at Shrimp Boat. As we open the front door the restaurant is basically empty. There are about 7 employees standing at the reception desk all giggling and laughing. They actually look at us and laugh. They then tell us we will have a five minute wait while they go talk to a manager. Weird! But then they come back again ALL giggling and say that there is a gas leak and we need leave. Hey I don’t want to be around a gas leak but why does your staff find this funny. We decided to eat across the street while there NO fire engines show up at the Shrimp Boat. And after about 20 minutes the staff exits the restaurant again all laughing. If you can’t tell by my comments something doesn’t make since.

If you don’t go here and enjoy their excellent jumbo shrimp, you’re missing out. Life changing shrimp. Seriously.
We ordered the strawberry buffalo shrimp appetizer. 3 weeks later and I still can’t stop thinking about it.
We sat outside by the bay and had a wonderful night.

Food was great and our server Sarah was great. Overall can use a good deep cleaning, replace some chairs and the bathrooms need more monitoring but the food was great. Relaxed atmosphere and the She Crab Soup is a must. As good as The Pirates House (Savannah) was back in the day. The house Wine and Cheese dressing is addicting. We will be back.

Had a great meal and the service was great. Our server Mikey was exceptional. He made our dining experience fun and entertaining.

Lovely atmosphere overlooking the water. Pretty good food. Pricey menu. Waiter did an excellent job.

Slow. Food was bland. Place was cold. Brought me the wrong beer. Wouldn’t recommend. Good thing we are leaving the area soon. Also, my wife was cold… so that sucks.

This was our first and probably last visit to this restaurant. We have never visited before which I mentioned to the waitress. She was nice but didn’t overwhelm us with suggestions on the menu or even suggest we walk out on the desk to see the beautiful view. The food was mediocre so when I asked to use a daily deal coupon I had purchased , which would have made me feel better about the pricey menu, I was shocked when I was told it could not be used because it was not printed.
The waitress apologized saying she needed the «piece of paper «to process with her tickets. I was upset and disappointed, however when the manager Jack came over he went above and beyond just to get the voucher printed. We left feeling better about the service at least.

What a delicious dinner! My husband and daughter split the Hemingway salad and loved it. I had the prime rib and millionaire potatoes. They were fantastic. The rolls were great too. Wendee, our server, went above and beyond on the service! They didn’t have a salad dressing that I was in the mood for and she made me some homemade dressing herself, it was amazing! We will be back!

To be a hair dresser and by far the best server I have had in years. I am a GM for a restaurant and I would kill to have more servers like her! I had a coconut marg and my husband had their version of a Long Island both were great! We both had sea food since we were observing lent and we couldn’t complain about anything and I had enough seafood Lacosta to take home
For another meal! Can’t wait to go back and have her serve us!

I have given this restaurant three first chances and unfortunately it has let me down more each time. We made reservations for 40 and they provided us with one waitress. We started at 6PM and at 9PM we still had not gotten our bill. I left there leaving an estimate on what my bill was because there was no telling how much longer it was going to take. When I left at 9 not one person has gotten their bill. However, when you walk around to the restroom there were at least three people standing around the hostess table doing absolutely nothing because there wasn’t 10 other people in the restaurant besides our party. Now for the food. I order fish taco and they had no taste, the wrap was burnt and hard, the fish was suppose to be broiled and it came out like it sat in the oven twice the amount of time it should of. To make matters worse my order wasn’t even put in until she was bringing everyone else meals out (did I mention that we only had one waitress assigned?) I do not blame anyone but the owner who happen to be there and was well aware of our situation but not one time did he come back and apologize or say anything to us. It is sad because I really like this area and I would hate for this place to go down but all I hear around town is that the service is unbelievably slow at the Shrimp Boat and Gracie Rae. Mr. Owner please step back and look into a mirror and realize you don’t have what it takes to run a restaurant and hire someone that does and step out of the way.

I looked over your answer to my question and to other complaints and frankly very surprise to hear that with such a huge disappointment like I mentioned below you would ask for more details on when this happen. Like I mentioned the owner was there and I would think those answers you are looking for are fresh on his mind. BTW as an update, after I left I was informed that the owner was so embarrassed that he could not face us and eventually after keeping everyone hostage waiting for our bills for way over an hour after we all completed our meals he comp everyone’s bill. This is very sad that he had to do that but it shows that there is a huge problem with the Shrimp Boat. Hoping for the sake of the community and all those employees to see a sign out front stating under new management. I wish you the best.

Big disappointment! This was my first time here and I was hoping to have a good grouper dinner but was very disappointed. The fact it was half empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night should of been a warning. I ordered the Grilled Grouper St Andrews. When it came the presentation was less then appealing. An ice scooper of garlic mashed potatoes and my grilled grouper with a little crab and sauce on top. When I bit into my fish the only thing I tasted was the chargrilled marks on my fish. The next bite was chewy. Obviously over grilled. I told my waiter and he took it back. He made it sound like he had to argue w their cooks to get them to agree on a new one. But instead he suggested broiled mahi. Which came out and wasn’t much better. I ate it and asked for the bill. This is what upset me even more to write this review. The $ 31 grouper dinner I sent back was still on the bill. Instead of billing me for the much cheaper Mahi they kept it on there. When I questioned the waiter he said nothing he could do. The manager even knew I had sent it back but not even a comp on my wine. Not very professional in my mind. There are too many other good restaurants in the area. This is one I would suggest avoiding!

I have had both good and bad food. Actually on New Years a set menu was great. Other times on a regular day not so much. Be careful. They charge 2 $ for every soda refill.

First of all. The Charbroiled Oysters… Fantastic! Nice atmosphere. Great service. My server, Julie, was awesome. I had the grouper and it was prepared just right. Would definitely come back next time I am in town!

Huge huge place and amazing food! Best seafood restaurant in PC in my opinion. Everything was really delicious.

This places was recommended by a friend when I told him I was coming to visit PCB. Great recommendation! Great food and staff!

Outstanding service, and fantastic food!
We had such a great experience here on our vacation that we went back two nights later.
The most amazing oysters, mahi mahi, grouper, shrimp, and bacon wrapped scallops. Absolutely phenomenal. The service was incredible. They were very busy, but they catered to our every need. We sat outside for an amazing view. They brought the bartender outside to discuss drinks and what we wanted– go for the St. Andrews punch or the ocean water. So good! Cannot wait to return.

This place is awesome! I had a bowl of gumbo, the Cajun grill and key lime pie. The Cajun Grill comes with a large portion of fish and 5 shrimp all seasoned and grilled to perfection. I got a salad and vegetable medley as sides. The bread is brushed with butter and lightly dusted with Old Bay seasoning! The Key Lime Pie is made in house and tastes great. It’s a nice size portion. We were stuffed walking out.

Mouth watering goodness on the bay! Minutes from everywhere and everything! The staff really knows how to accommodate and your needs as well as wants are never left apart! Indulge in their specials as they are plentiful. An overall joyfull experience!
