Sushi is very good, I love the boats floating around really nice, I don’t like how the sushi doesn’t come with a label clarifying the type of sushi, waiters are a little slow and take a while to bring drinks, other than that it is a really good sushi place

Seriously, don’t come with any expectations. If you prefer rolls over sushi– maybe you’ll have a better experience than I did. 1. Some of the food rotating around were there longer than I was. Not exactly a good sign. 2. I ordered a tako sushi from the chef and the first thing I bit into was ice chips. 3. As I was paying for the bill, I noticed the chef had an old bandaid on his finger. I’m sorry but that’s just gross if he’s making my food and isn’t the least bit concerned with hygiene. One word — gross.

COMEWITHLOWEXPECTATIONS –Salmon teriyaki –Tempura rolls –California roll –Seafood dynamite –More and more rolls TIP: come early so you can be sure the things on the conveyor belt boats are FRESHER I think I’m spoiled by good sushi in Hawaii and Japan. The best thing I ate here was actually the salmon teriyaki or the bacon wrapped scallop… so aka not the sushi items. The spicy ahi here is not good. It’s straight up sriracha and tuna. The tempura was cold and soggy in all of the rolls I tried that came with tempura. The price is based on the design of your plate. The plates add up. If you want a roll(which is like 4 pieces), expect to pay about $ 3.68 per plate. Basically everything came out to $ 20/person… it’s not cheap. I only came here for the gimmick of getting the sushi off of the revolving boats. It was cool but the food did not make up for it. I wonder how often they clean the water. This restaurant is clearly a westernized version of a sushi-ya and it’s pretty obvious by the quality of their food… good for people who don’t know any better and want«sushi.» Free parking for 90 minutes in the Delacey lot!

Overall good atmosphere and the older man who runs the restaurant is really nice, however the selection of revolving sushi was not the best. The little boats are adorable though!

First time coming here yesterday and overall it was a fun experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful when we asked what certain things were. The shrimp tempura was our favorite! It was enjoyable, super packed, and everyone seemed really happy.

First thing first, the fish was terrible and not fresh. The sushi crumbled and the rice was not moist and soft but dry. The ginger tasted old, the tonkatsu sauce tasted more sour than sweet. Etiquette was TERRIBLE. Overall, the service were HORRIBLE.

Worst revolving plate Japanese restaurant ever!!! Food was coldddddd!!! Mochi was literally stale and sashimi slices were in sliver!!! Way over priced and horrible service… japanese restaurant ran by Chinese people… who don’t know shit about Japanese food… the worst $ 35.00 I spent ever… they were talking shit about a customer about not tipping… save yourself and don’t come here lol

Unfortunately, I cannot write a review based on the quality of the food, because we were never served. A couple of friends and I walked into the restaurant in the late afternoon: prime dinner time. The place was all but empty. Despite this fact, it took someone over five minutes to come and help us. For some reason, we could not sit at any table we wanted in the empty restaurant, but had to sit near the rotating sushi bar where everyone else was sitting. We decided to get our food to go, and began asking about their menu(pricing, what is fresh, etc.). The server seemed disinterested in helping us, and simply said he would take our order when we were ready. He then walked away. After we navigated the somewhat confusing menu, we stood at the front counter for about 12 minutes completely ready to order. The server did not come back to help us again. What is worse, he actually greeted and seated another group that came in probably 10 minutes after us! After seating the group, he still ignored us. Finally, we simply walked out and took our business elsewhere. Overall, the restaurant was poorly staffed(and very dim lighting), the server was rude and impatient, and we stood waiting to give them our business for almost 15 minutes without any help. He did not even notice that we walked out! If they cannot handle 3 customers when they are basically empty, I shudder to think about trying to eat there on a busy night. Thanks but no thanks A’Float Sushi.

3rd time here. This time was date nite with my 9-year old sushi-loving son. The quality is really quite good. I grabbed the delicious-looking oyster duet and was not let down. Then, I grabbed another plate of oysters. Still excellent. The place was packed on Saturday evening. I liked talking with the sushi chef, who was actually Japanese! Domo arigato!

It’s a great place if you’re starving and wouldn’t want to wait too long for the food. Just walk in, get seated at the bar seats and pick whatever you want to eat from the boats floating pass. They have a mix of the different types of sushi on the boats but of course not everything is on the boat, you can order from the menu. Ordered a couple of sushi and it’s good but I had better, so 3.5 stars!

I’ve been here a couple of times, the experience is more mediocre every time I visit. I really want to love this place and the boats are a cool idea. But they lose it in quality of the items that float around for the entire time you eat. The prices on some of these dishes are a little ridiculous. Most of the items here aren’t to die for nor will even leave a strong memory or craving after you’ve left. I would just drop by for a quick snack to taste, but never come and actually eat a meals worth. I’ve been to this place many times, and with so many sushi restaurants around now in Pasadena, this place really needs to find ways to improve their menu and restaurant.

1 star for the quality of the sushi Half a star for the service It is pretty self-explanatory the way this place works. You go in and grab whatever you like from a boat. Protip: sit by the bar so you can directly tell the chef what you would like Be aware that there are different designs on each plate, which corresponds to a different price category. The ones I ate were mostly 3.08, which is really pricey in my opinion for boat sushi. The quality was not good at all. The salmon was frozen and the rice was cooked wrong. There was no vinegar taste to it! You are better off at going to Kula, where the quality is a little better and each plate has one set price. Also when I went, we were the only ones there, so the waitress kept trying to get us to order more.

I was actually in line for Sushi Stop across the street, and we noticed there was another sushi place(A’Float Sushi), so we decided to give it a try. You can choose from the floating sushi or order from the menu. We opted to order from the menu. We went with the Sashimi Combo A, which considers of Salmon, Albacore, Tuna, and Shrimp sashimi. It also comes with a Dragon, Shrimp Tempura, and California rolls. It was only me and one other person. We stuffed ourselves and still had about 1⁄3 of the food left! It was a great deal and we ended up having another meal to take home!

Great sushi spot in Old Town Pasadena. We sat around the conveyor belt table as the sushi, rows, sashimi, and many other items floated along on boats. Very neat Everything was great. The fish wasn’t old or tasted as if it had been out all day or frozen. The Japanese beer I ordered, Sapporo was ice cold and was a great paring with the sushi. The service was great, didn’t have to wait long to be seated and the staff was very attentive. the price wasn’t that bad, it was al a carte for the sushi you got on the conveyor boats. So you can budget out the meal as you saw fit. I thought the atmosphere was great and the place was clean. But not alot of seating, so its in old town Pasadena, so on a busy weekend, the wait could be long. Parking is near by and very conveniently located just about anywhere, so no worries on that end. Like this place, would recommend it to anyone looking for a good sushi place in old town Pasadena.

This place is all about convenience for me. I take advantage of their delivery service during those nights where I just want to eat in. Even so, it’s a revolving sushi bar and these types of sushi restaurants tend to be very convenient when picking up or eating in(although I’ve never actually visited the restaurant). The sushi here gets the job done and satisfies my sushi cravings when I’m too lazy to go out. I usually get the rolls and like how you can even order half rolls online, so that’s a plus because you can try a roll without having to buy a whole one. I like raw fish, but tend to stick to the baked portions here. Nothing really special with the selection, but covers all the basic rolls you could want(Dragon, Caterpillar, Spider, etc). As far as delivery goes, the sushi always comes nicely packed and I’ve never had a problem of having them deliver the wrong thing or poorly packaged. Also, the food comes in usually an hour or less. So to state it simply, I will probably just stick to the delivery sushi here, as the convenience compensates for the alright sushi.

Pretty tasty, moderately price, quiet, and chill. It’s kinda hard to get the chefs to notice you and you’re often time waiting a while for something new to show up on a boat, so you’re left getting hypnotized by the relaxing waves circling the island of «to be» food. Their Philadelphia rolls are nommers and cheap so that’s a winner for me! It’s nice to go to if you wanna stop in and have some sushi, but not someplace I would go for a big how to do, but I generally don’t want that anyway. Parking is a pain in the ass, but their green tea is that roasted flavor type that I simply adore. It’s a good 3 and a half star place. Try it out sometime.

Haven’t been back to this place for a while but nothing much has changed. The sushi is still pretty good — it’s actually pretty decent for the price –though actually the price for some dishes did go up. I usually just get the usual — salmon skin hand roll, salmon sushi, mackerel sushi, yellowtail sushi and a few others — this time I even tried their monk fish liver and it was pretty good. The sushi chefs are usually pretty nice too. Overall even though I haven’t been here for months — nearly a year — they kept up the consistency and the decent quality. It’s usually pretty busy but we dine here for dinner on a late weekday so it was pretty relaxed. I usually like sitting at the bar so I can pick and chose and could tell the chef directly what I want but they do have tables. Another thing I like about this place is the desserts that they have — they have different ones many times but they are good.

The 3-star average is totally appropriate. I was craving california rolls & tempura, but BAD sushi on Holly is closed on Monday/Tuesday, and Kabuki makes you get chicken teriyaki, which was more food than I wanted. So after avoiding A’Float Sushi for about 10 years, I decided this was the day to try it. The floating boat setup is pretty cool. There’s even edamame & a few kinds of desserts on the boats as well. My food came out really quick, so that was a plus. In fact, it came out so quickly that I was worried the tempura had been sitting under a lamp or something. But no, it tasted hot & fresh, so that was good. The salad & california rolls were unremarkable. Since my lunch was a bargain $ 6.95, I thought about getting a shimp tempura roll. But when I realized that the california roll wasn’t anything to get excited about, I decided against it. I think San across the street is a much better meal.
