Review 11 Q’s has been one of my hideouts for almost 10 years, I’m a geometry addict! The establishment is upstairs, security is great at filtering the crowd. No drama up there! The tables are very well lit and enough tables to enjoy your evening playing. The place has great management, plenty of waitresses and bartenders that are in beat with the latest drinks. A variety of music is played at a comfortable medium high volume yet low enough to have a conversation. Plenty of chalk and cue if you don’t have gloves, also a large variety of cue sticks: sizes and weight. It’s defiantly a place to come play or hang out, The outdoor patio is a big plus! Plan B.

Fun place to play pool. Clean place and friendly staff. Nice outdoor patio. It’s a nicer place than Jakes pool hall across the street.

Some of my Dog Haus peeps love coming here. Have only been downstairs prior. There’s a bunch of semi private rooms and a full bar. Great for little gatherings.

Great place to grab a few drinks with friends. Plenty of people, but we still found some seats to relax. Great place to enjoy playing pool and music. We all had a good time here and everyone was chill. Did not notice a dress code, as I even saw some in t shirts and shorts.

I have been to several of the Q’s locations… and this was definitely nice. It is attached to Barney’s Beanery which is downstairs and Q’s is upstairs. I do enjoy the upstairs, it has a different vibe. There is an outdoor area and several rooms, some with pool tables. I must say that I always have a decent time at Q’s.

Superbowl and billiards! Yeah! It’s upstairs and you can order food and drinks while you play pool. We did this while watching the super bowl and it was a blast!

Never a very long wait for a table here. I came last Saturday with a few girlfriends and tried to get on the wait list for a table; the chick at the register signed me up and said she’d move me up on the wait list because we were ordering drinks. What a sweetheart! :) They’ve always been nice here — hardest place to get drinks is on the first floor at Barney’s. Second floor is best for getting drinks — bartenders up there are less inundated and more chill. Avoid the Asian bartender on first floor; she was such a douche and served everyone around my friend first.

Good times! Been here twice with a group of friends. The place is pretty chill and kick back so you don’t have to overdress to impress in order to get in. Loved the drinks, music and little dance floor. What else can I say? … Just be careful when drinking and going up the stairs! Last time we went, all of my girls and I was going up the stairs, holding hands, I had a drink 2 many and ended up falling down the stairs and taking my girls with me. LOL… I will repeat, good times. ;-) Just to clarify, I haven’t been here in a while, after reading other reviews, I think the dress code might have changed a little? Time 2 re-visit.

Q’s is convenient and not overly packed which I like… rented a table for $ 14/hr on a Friday night. My only advice is find a table that has plenty of space around it, otherwise you might be stuck with one where you can’t shoot because your stick keeps butting against the wall.

Fun place with a ton of tables and TV’s. A bit run down, but that’s ok if it means I am able to get a pool table whenever I want.

This review is technically for Q’s upstairs but I love Barney’s too. The kitschy-ness and the bus you can sit in and all the giant TVs to watch sports. Plus did they upgrade the stools at the bar? They’re all like comfy chairs with backs and cushions now — seems like an ideal to park yourself for a few hours during a game. Anyways at Q’s they have happy hour pool where it’s free till 9, I think. And then happy hour specials for drinks and appetizers till 7. The happy hour food stuff is probably for Barney’s too. We settled on a couple pints for $ 3. How can you beat that deal? Food was ok. Appetizers are like 50% off, I think but the portions are super small. We tried the mozzarella sticks — there was like 5 on the plate, and the buffalo wings — too spicy for me but again only like 5 pieces. It can get pretty busy during happy hour. So I didn’t really see any waiters walking around, just a guy who was picking up empty glasses and plates. My other only small gripe is that they keep that place so dimly lit. I mean, I need lights when I’m playing pool. I understand it’s to create a mood/atmosphere but really, a pool bar should not be going for that dark and romantic feel.

sunday night free pool if you buy 2 drinks… not bad, otherwise they would charge by the hour? Plenty of pool tables, flat screens, bar, lounge area… dimly lit parlor like décor… more like a lounge in feel… have fun we did!

During the week, the quiet antithesis to Barney’s Beanery, which is located downstairs. Regulation pool tables that are free from 6:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m. most days. The bar is small and the alcohol selections are more limited. But, you can always go downstairs to get your specialty. Same menu also. On the weekends, this place can get slammed because of the small bar. Also, Q’s is strictly 21 and older, so don’t bring your teeny bopper.

I’ve been to Barney’s beanery a few times but I had never ventured upstairs. I’m hanging out and I run into an old friend who is meeting people upstairs. I decide to join his group and from the moment I hit the steps to walk up, it’s a flood of memories. As I’m walking up my friend turns to me and say’s how many girls did you see fall down these stairs back in the day. We both laugh. Ok, I’m upstairs and I feel like I have traveled back in time. I was expecting to walk outside and see the same band playing on the patio that seemed to play there forever. The place is pretty much the same. Same red pool tables, layout is the same, small bar, wood table near the bar. There is no band playing outside but it’s more of a covered patio these days. Also they seem to have added a seating area in the middle of the upstairs that would be good if you’re just looking for somewhere to have a drink and hang out with some friends. I hang out for a minute but decide it’s time to make new memories somewhere else. Thanks for the memories Q’s. If you’ve never gone check out the upstairs and for those of you that remember when Q’s was the spot in old town venture upstairs and see what memories it brings back.

A better looking version of the Q’s Billard Club in West Los Angeles, but not much else is different about this place. The first floor is pretty much dedicated to the restaurant portion of Q’s. It’s crowded, old, and dirty. The second floor is where everyone goes to drink, relax, or play a game of pool. Up here, it’s a lot cleaner and quite spacious. In terms of alcohol, prices are decent and the selection of beer is good. Not a fan of the pasadena cops that are camped out in front of this bar all night long… not that I tend to get into trouble or anything but they can still put a damper on your mood the instant you set eyes on them.

I am sure to come back here and update my review, but for now, Q’s…what happened? Where did you go? It’s like the venue decided to simply gut out the bottom and replace it with a sports bar/restaurant(televisions everywhere) and shove my favorite billards bar to the top floor. It’s okay, I’m not crying… this place used to be a club too… oh, the memories. My friend seems to like it here. He’s here often for happy hour. The top floor is Q’s Billards, and yes, you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the top. It’s current décor is reminiscent of what it used to look like, sorta classy and trendy. i’ll be back Q’s…I’ll be back.

Came here for a friend’s birthday. More of a lounge atmosphere, which was nice compared to most other billiard places. Large menu. Not your typical bar snacks. One caveat was the poor ventilation upstairs. All in all we had a good time. Make sure to get there early if you want to get a table.

OK, I thought Q’s closed down awhile back… and then they opened Barney’s Beanery to replace it? Just found out last Friday that they are still in business. My fiancé’s long time bud had his bday bash there. They kept the top level of Q’s opened… you have to go through Barney’s to get there. Apparently, it’s the same company because the receipts on our drink tab said Barney’s Beanery. Anyway, they pretty much kept the same ambiance that the old Q’s had except no multiple levels and no big dance floor… the décor had the same color theme, the lighting was the same, and there pool tables throughout. It was cool… it brought back so many memories of back in the day… except now, we were the old farts!!! I’m sure there was a group of barely legal little tramps talking smack and pointing to the COUGAR with a martini in one hand and a pool stick in the other… ME!!! LOL! The drinks were delish… I had the Pomegranate Martini and the Keylime Martini and a couple of Buttery Nipple shots… and because I’m an old fart… I was totally sloshed after that!!! The drinks were a bit pricey because the tab was about $ 100…that was only 3 rounds and one pitcher of beer later. The food was ok… it was from the Barney’s menu and I don’t really care for the food there. Nonetheless, we had a good time.

Really didn’t enjoy this one as much as the Q’s at Santa Monica: –downstair is usually messy, spill beer on the floor, reminds me a bit those ‘meat market’ in college towns. –came in a while back to go up stair play some pool, I remember have to chase down the waiter to open & close the tab. –the pool table was what you’d call ‘bar-pool-table’ quality at best. if you looking for good quality pool hall table, you really should go elsewhere. that’s what I came to realize after I lose the beer bet of the night. ^^
