I was recommended to Dr Furman by my brother and have been going to him for years. He is easy to talk to and thorough. I have rumatiod and asthma and he is very up on both of these areas. I don’t understand the negative reviews on his staff. They are always so friendly and follow up quickly. I think he has someone who covers for the other women at the desk so that may be it. I would give him a 5 but don’t give out 5’s very often.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Furman for many years and basically think is a good doctor and I have recommended him to some friends. But, I have issues, like so many others, with his office manager. She is the most unpleasant person and should never be allowed to serve the public. I’ve come close to a shouting match with her. The last issue that I had was over the request of temporary Handicapped Application. I have had other doctors sign the form without a problem. The office manager had the nerve to tell me that I needed to also fill another form to have my medical records forwarded to DMV and that I had to pay $ 20.00. I told her that DMV has no such requirement. In fact, the DMV fee is $ 6.00 and can be gotten at the AAA office. I refused to pay. Thankfully my pain got better and I didn’t need it. Do I need to say more.

Ive been with this doctor for a while but there was a passing in my family and yes I did call the day of to let them know I couldn’t make it. I know policy is usually 24 hour advance but I think an unexpected death is the only plausible excuse. Still charged me 30 dollars. Just think it’s a little inconsiderate. I understand with other excuses but a death? He’s a good doctor but I just think it’s time for me to change. If you are interested in seeing him, make sure to call ahead since sometimes he gets a tad busy. The front desk faculty is always sweet and helpful. Make sure to bring cash for parking. It’s unfortunately about my situation and I hope other people can say it was better for them.

I have been going to Dr. Furman for almost 3 years now and I love Dr. Furman. I have never had any insurance problem. The receptionist and office manager are very easy to approach. If I have an urgent issue, they have been very helpful to squeeze me in as earliest as possible. Dr. Furman is very thorough and takes his time to make sure every single health problem to be addressed. I would recommend Dr. Furman.

I was a patient here for three years. I never felt well taken care of and only stayed because I am lazy and did not want the hassle of switching doctors. I always felt that he was just looking for any excuse to have me book an appt. so as to be able to keep his practice afloat. I finally had had enough when I could not even get a single refill of my blood pressure medication without another office visit. At this point I switched doctors. On my first visit to my new doctor she gave me info about the medicine that he had me on that he had never mentioned. My new doctor requested my medical records and they wanted $ 60 to mail them to my new physician. Just another example of them trying to squeeze any money they can out of their patients. By the way, I concur that the office manager is a rude miserable woman. This is only the third time in my life that I have written a Unilocal review. It has to be exceptionally bad or good for me to waste my time. On that note, I urge you not to waste your time with Dr. Furman.

Like the other review here and ones I’ve seen in other places, this complaint is about the office manager. Dr. Furman accepts my insurance. So he has to see me. But the office manager wouldn’t let me make an appointment because she’d recently had a problem with my insurance company(with another patient, not with me) and therefore didn’t want to accept it anymore. Is that even legal?

Was a patient of his for years and then he decided to stop accepting our insurance but his office never notified us until my wife needed an urgent appointment. Then he actually had the nerve to try to bill us $ 165 to transfer my wife’s records to another doctor. Just bad form and not at all professional.
