I adore this salon!
First of all, Jane has been doing my hair for YEARS, and even after moving to San Diego, no one else touches my hair. I call her «the color Queen» for a reason. She listens to my vague idea of what I think I want and then interprets it into something even more stunning than I had imagined. I’ve gone from brunette to blonde and now to red with her, and I always leave the salon feeling like a million bucks.
The salon itself is lovely, too. Bright, clean, stylish. It’s small size lends to the atmosphere we all love in a hair salon – chatty and warm. They also carry really wonderful products to help you keep up your locks once you leave.
Long story short, if you’re looking for a great salon in a great neighborhood with great people, look no further. Carmen Alea Salon is the place.

Carmen Alea Salon is the best hair salon I’ve ever come across after many cities and much salon hopping. I have been going to Isabelle for several years and followed her to Carmen Alea where I continue to see both her and Jane. They are both talented and consistent with their own individual styles. They are very wise and intuitive artists and I always feel heard as a client. The colors they mix are beautiful and fantastic and their hair knowledge is expansive and even educational.
I have recommended several close friends who are super picky and they all have had terrific experiences and are now regular clients.
I have the highest of recommendations for both Isabelle, Jane and Sarah (their assistant). They make for a delightful afternoon with gorgeous, happy results. I’ll never go to anyone else!

I love my cuts here. A good mens cut is hard to find. I won’t go anywhere else now. I’ve looked for a spot to go to for many years and now I’ve found it. Highly recommended. Thank you Isabel.
