So I came in to get 2 large chicken tortilla soups for my friend and who were a little under the weather… Opened up container and the soup looked and smelled like they took the left over pozole soup and just added veggies… quite honestly not what I was hoping for and was greasy and gross… The soup was one of their only saving grace… Quite disappointed… Oh did I mention that I paid almost $ 20 for soup!!!

Every taco Tuesday we come here we leave full and f$&ked up. So I would def take an über. They have really good salsa for their chips and the tacos are tasty and inexpensive. The drinks are strong and their service is top notch and fun. Nothing beats good service. I’d for sure give them a visit.

Visiting the area we spent several nights at the various local eateries. Margaritas came with some nice reviews, was close and… open late which is nice in the summer when the days are long. We were quickly seated even though the restaurant at 9pm was still quite busy. Chips and salsa arrived along with orders of the house margarita which is quite good. A lady offered some spicy salsa which brought two more salsa selections… one red and smokey the other green — both hot and very good. Our order consisted of a super giant burrito that unless you’re Hulk Hogan you shouldn’t be ordering and for myself two enchiladas(chicken & cheese). The chicken was wonderfully seasoned and the cheese has some green sauce inside too making it have a bit of zip; the enchiladas were also very large with lots of filling… one would have been plenty. Our server brought us some fresh tortillas and butter when we asked about the lady pressing them out, they also were quite yummy. Final review — it’s good… quite good and sure to return.

We had our choir party here and reserved the back room just for us. We had 20 people throughout the evening and the waiters and waitresses were perfect. They were attentive and brought our dinners out almost all at the same time! They kept the margaritas flowing. Typical Mexican food but the drinks were awesome. Great chips and chunky salsa.

Look, I have been a SUPERFAN of Pepe’s(Covina, Alhambra, Rosemead) for as long as I can remember. I would go there with my family, when we were hankering for some good ol’ fashion machaca, but not having to make the drive out to El Tepeyac for it. So when our friends suggested we go to Margarita’s for margaritas and Mexican food, I was so excited. And then I found out that it was the sister of Pepe’s??? I was equally THRILLED to be able to have my favorite — machaca burritos — and margaritas. And there it was — a delicious flour tortilla, with shredded beef, egg, pepper and onions, with some beans and rice. And flash broiled in the oven to melt the cheese??? I was so excited. I waited the entire day for it. And then, it was in front of my face, ready to be devoured. I bite into it and… nothing. The meat had no egg; there was only onions; and it was swimming in red sauce. I had to ask twice for my side order of guacamole and sour cream(the sour cream never came). When we dared asked our server(who was not helpful or courteous at all) about the state of my sad«machaca» burrito, that it was lacking everything that made a machaca burrito a machaca burrito, he had the audacity to tell me that if I wanted egg, I «had to ask for it specifically» and that this was«their version.» Everywhere, every single time, at any Mexican restaurant I have been to in my 35 years, I have never had to ask for egg with my machaca. It is automatically assumed. If I were to have gone to the Pepe’s 2 blocks away and ordered a machaca burrito, I would have gotten what I ordered. If I wanted a shredded beef burrito, I would have ordered it. This broke my heart. And for years to come, I will have this broken heart. Honestly, I don’t think I will be back to Margaritas, unless I am only going for some chips, salsa and margaritas. And I am forced to eat anything, flautas. I would wonder how they can really mess that up.

I’ve been here a couple of times but only recently tried their brunch buffet with unlimited Mimosas and Champagne — and it’s only $ 17.99! Tasty Mexican food and with a great spread. Service is excellent and the Mimosas/Champagne just kept on coming… best way to start your Sundays…

Very disappointed with«Margaritas!» We were celebrating 2 birthdays and chose Margaritas because my husband used to go there years ago. I also read comments on Unilocal about the ‘good food and great margaritas.’ So, I made a reservation for 10 and they squeezed us into a table for 8. We had to ask for an extra chair for our 6’2″ Grandson and a few took turns holding the 10-mo-old Grandbaby. Service was slow and food was average. I ordered Pescado Veracruzano and the filet was served covered with diced tomatoes and the mixed vegetables were mostly hard. Those drinking margaritas were not impressed. Lastly, they don’t play music in the restaurant, so that added to the drab experience. I ended up apologizing to my group for choosing the wrong restaurant for our celebration.

This was our first time here and I have to say that we will be coming back. It’s 5 minutes from home and the ambience was nice. It’s not too big but large enough to give it a family feel. The waiters were very attentive and gave us refills without us asking. The chips are made there, there were still hot when they arrived to our table. The food was excellent! Being Mexican, I have to say that the chile relleno tasted like my grandmothers. Over all we really liked it and we will be bringing our friends and family here. We are even thinking of making this«our place» to eat on Sunday’s.

Have worked next door to Margaritas for almost 8 years, and eat there for lunch 1 – 2 times/wk. Food is excellent and staff is very friendly. The lunch buffet is great if you’re hungry, but I often order«to-go» and my favorite is the ceviche appetizer. We’re moving, and not being close to Margaritas is by far the saddest part of the move for all of us.

I’ve driven by here a thousand times, always thinking I’d try it… well today is the day! Greeted right away by a friendly gal who seated me, brought me a Coke, and told me about the $ 10.95 lunch buffet. After a quick look-see, I decided to go for it. Everything is fresh looking, with ample choices for a pescetarian like myself: ceviche, salad, fruit, rice, cheese enchiladas, and shrimp rancheros. No complaints on taste, but no real standouts either. The chips & salsa are just ok. I like spicy salsa, but theirs is a bit bland. I’m not huge into Mexican, but overall I found this place to be decent. I think I’d come back, probably for either Happy Hour or Taco Tuesday.

Randomly came here for dinner one night after a recommendation and was not disappointed! This place kind of reminded me of a mixture of El Torito and Salsa and Beer in North Hollywood. With that being said, the parking lot is just as horrendous, but finding a spot should not be a problem. Once we got in we were greeted by a very friendly hostess and seated immediately. They start you out with the typical chips and salsa, and they have a variety of salsas with different spiciness if you ask for them. The service here is really quick and efficient as well! Everytime we would ask for more salsa, it would appear at our table right away. I ended up ordering Nacho Fries as my entrée, which is very similar to Carne Asada Fries, but you have to ask for guacamole and sour cream on the side if you want a solid dish. The food was average, nothing over the top, but satisfying. My friend ordered the combination plate, which was a huge portion for one person. It looked like an average recipe, but from the looks of it, she enjoyed it and had more than half left over which she took to-go. Out in the front it tells you the specials they have for every day of the week. I came on a Thursday, which is the $ 5.95 menu, so my entire meal was only $ 6+ with tax! Awesome deal. The combination plates are regular price, but you get double the food, so in a sense it’s the same thing. Wednesdays I heard were very popular because of the $ 3 margaritas! I would definitely come back for those.

The food is very average. You can get the same at any other Mexican restaurant. But the workers are very friendly, the service is very quick, and the portions are fairly generous. We had like four people helping our table for two. It was confusing, but they were all very nice. If you’re looking for special, foodie-suitable Mexican food, you won’t find it here. But if you just want classic flavors from somewhere a little less crowded and super laid back, this is a nice little spot. Oh yeah, the margaritas were good too. Not sure if they quite live up to the name(since it’s CALLED Margaritas), but they certainly weren’t bad.

I came here because I had a BOGO entrée from the Entertainment Book. On a Tuesday afternoon for lunch, there was no wait and we were seated immediately. There was a $ 9.99 buffet, but the coupon doesn’t allow for that. Their home-made chips and salsa are great. Be careful because it’s not totally ridiculous to get 2 or 3 refills before your food even comes. Oven Burrito($ 9.29)(4⁄10) You get to choose your meat, but Carne Asada is not one of them. What? Boo! I went with Chicken and the red sauce on top. The chicken was super dry. I had to keep smearing it in the sauce that’s drizzled on top. I wouldn’t order this again, especially not for $ 9.

Food was bland .no flavor. when we asked for the ‘spicy salsa’ they brought us a watered down blended version of the salsa they first brought out. The noise level was annoying, and the michilada was all ice and calmato no kick no flavor .I definitely will not be coming back here. I regret not going to the taco truck on the corner instead.

Came here on a whim for dinner! I ordered a chicken tostada and boy… the portion was hugeeee and is a must share item. The tostada itself was just okay because there was too much cheese in it and it made the ratio imbalanced. The free chips were decent and warm. The salsa it came with was a bit bland but we ordered guac on the side which made up for the sad salsa. I also got to taste the chicken Chipotle dish and that is definitely what I would order if I came back! The chicken was super moist and the sauce was very flavorful.

Margarita is a nice restaurant and it fells like you habe been transported to Mexico. It is colorful with décor of different parts of Mexico. This is our first time at Margarita and trying out the food. They also serve many variety of Margarita that is well know in Pasadena and surrounding area at this popular restaurant. Inside of the restaurant is really amazing with bright colors and wonderful décor we enjoy it. The waitress told us we can seat any in restaurant, we picked the table we like and waited for the waitress for the menu. She with the menu and chips and salsa, the chips were fresh and adding the salsa they were good. My wife order the nacho supereno with chicken and I order the veggie burrito. The portions are big at Margarita including the nacho supereno. The nacho were very good and cheesy the way I like it. The veggie burrito was surprising good, the veggie were season well it have bell peppers, onions black beans, white rice, lima beans. The veggie burrito is cover with a salsa that was so good. Overall my wife and I enjoy Margarita next time we need try their famous margarita.

Ok, so this is my second time here. The first time was not memorable… but considering the options in the area we gave Margaritas a second chance. The burritos are delicious. I had the Chile Verde burrito, It was a good size, filled with delicious pork and beans. The salsa verde that covered it was the best I’ve ever had! My friend had the Carne Asada burrito and ordered it wet with half red sauce and half green sauce. Again, delicious and with the two sauces it was«A Must Return And Have This Again Burrito!» The Guacamole had authentic flavors of cilantro, onions and tomatoes, also the BEST I’ve ever had. Chips and salsa are plentiful, and the service is wonderful. They made sure we were tended to and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this Mexican Restaurant to everyone and can’t wait to return and taste some of the other entrees.
