One of my favorite places just for their frites. You get different kinds of dipping sauce and all are delicious. I like to get frites and a panini. Their atmosphere is very cute, with a nice, yet small, patio.

***Do not let the 1 and 2 star reviews on this restaurant dissuade you from trying Berry Hill out. As a Midwesterner living in California, if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my two years here, it’s that the bulk of central coast/Bay area Californians overrate terribly mediocre restaurants and underrate fantastic restaurants. The latter is certainly true for this case. Why this happens is beyond me, dysfunctional palates I suppose. Berry Hill was a lovely, quaint bistro with an extensive menu, great wine selection, and friendly and attentive wait staff. The hand dipped onion rings were awesome and every member of my party thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. I plan on returning anytime I drive through Paso.

After a handful of good dining experiences at this charming bistro, my experience there yesterday almost obliterated my impression of the place. I ordered the Chipotle chicken pannini, and when my order arrived, everything looked great, then I took a bite of a small piece of meat that was peaking out of the bread. Imagine trying to take a bite out of a piece of rubber. I took the sandwich out of my mouth to look at it, the chicken looked cooked on the outside, but was raw on the inside. Still not believing what I was seeing, I opened the sandwich to cut into the chicken, and yep, it was raw! The sensation that I tried to sink my teeth into a raw piece of chicken suddenly sunk in, eewww! I discreetly called the waitress over and informed her of my dining crisis, she sweetly apologized, and asked if I wanted to have the same piece of chicken well done… um, no I didn’t want the same contaminated food on my plate… how about something altogether different? I decided to stay away from the meat and ordered a roasted veggie pannini. Well the veggies were good, but the pannini was burnt, so I left the bread on the plate and ate warm veggies for dinner. Talk about an off day.

I make it a point to visit whenever I’m in town. The Berry Hill salad with grilled chicken is a favorite. Together with a glass of red wine makes for a great meal. The restaurant, aided by the outdoor seating available there and other restaurants in the area, has a very European feel.

LOVED this place! Dog friendly patio who gave my dog a bowl of water. Welcoming, friendly staff. I had the roasted beet salad. It came with mixed greens, candied walnuts, beats and grilled chicken with a balsamic vinaigrette. Husband had a French Dip with a side Asian salad and said he loved it. We shared a tempura shrimp appetizer that had an amazing peanut sauce on the side. The huge butterflied prawns were almost a meal in itself. Overall perfect experience!

DON”T EATHERE! Holy crap! I had a horrible experience. 1. Everyone has ‘tude(Attitude). 2. No one is a manager, as in NOMANAGERONDUTY. They told us. We asked a second person, same damn answer… «We are in charge of ourselves here,» was their answer. They are not helpful. That means no one is managing the cleanliness of the kitchen either! What a joke! Ok. I I I ordered a steak, sent it back because it was well done, ordered a Medium-Rare steak, and the waitress came back with the same plate and the same steak, but now all sliced up. The steak was still overcooked and the waitress points and say to me, «the chef says its fine». BULL!!! I had to google a picture of a Medium-Rare steak and show her… But she could care less. They brought another steak. The second one was RAW and cold inside. They obviously wanted to be jerks! I mean, REALLY? Who serves cold raw meat to a customer!?! Once again, they did not care! We ask for the chef to come out, but the waitress said he speaks no english. These people don’t care, so I wonder what else in the kitchen they don’t care about. I will never forget this experience and I will tell everyone I know about it.

Simply an beautiful and elegant place for a date. Atmosphere is delightful, relaxing, a little Frank for background sound. Bring a bottle of local wine and no cork fee. Food is well prepared and service outstanding.

My friend and I both agree that this place has really gone downhill in the past year. If you’re with a group of people or even as a couple, be warned, if it’s busy the acoustics are absolutely terrible. The service was awful, my friend actually had to get up to ask for more water as the waitress had skipped our table and wasn’t paying attention to us, her conversation near the kitchen was more important. The calamari we ordered tasted like frozen fish sticks, the cheese plate was flavorless, and I got sick from the panini I had ordered. We will not be coming back.

The food here is very delicious. It comes out hot, fresh, and incredibly flavorful. The wait staff is attentive, and the ambiance is cozy, perfect for a family night out or a romantic date night. Prices are reasonable, nightly specials Monday-Thursday. Staff are very professional, and handled themselves in a manner that I respected when our baby became sick in their establishment. They handled it like pros, did not make us feel bad, despite us being mortified, and made it seem like not even a big deal. Major props to their professionalism.

Loved the Basic Burger and Sweet Potatoe fries! The meat was so tender, juicy and big, cooked perfectly. The waitress was sweet also. We will be back for sure.

So, so, so disappointed with Berry Hill Bistro. The service has gone way down hill. They used to have specifically marked gluten free options /gluten free menu.(And they used to seem to care about customer service.) However this experience was extremely frustrating and completely unenjoyable. I asked for the gluten free menu and was told they’d bring it shortly. When that didn’t happen within a reasonable amount of time, I asked again and was given the same answer. I was then told by another waitress that they no longer had a separate gluten free menu!(So they kept me waiting around for nothing!) If it would have been just me, I would have walked out then. But I was with friends, so I tried to make it work. I asked two different servers about gluten free menu options, and they gave me such vague answers that I was left still not knowing what food I could order. So I ordered a cider and no food. And they never even brought the cider. At least they didn’t charge me for it. So I had to sit and watch my friends eat their food while having only water, then went to the place next door and ordered food after my friends finished their meals. I will be spending my money at restaurants make it easy for all customers to order by labeling their menus with icons to indicate gluten free /gluten free option /vegetarian /vegan /etc. Also restaurants that care about customer service. I won’t be back unless I hear that service has improved. Drastically.

Cozy room off the town square; my friends ordered a calamari steak(excellent) and grilled salmon(very good); I had an artichoke pasta and my wife had a seafood pasta, both were drenched in sauce to the point that we didn’t eat much. Maybe just an off night? Service was extremely friendly and prompt, so no complaints there. We might give it another chance, however, there are so many enticing restaurant options in this part of town that it might be a while before we try this place again.

As usual the service is fabulous. I love coming to paso! Try the chicken florentine. Delicious! They make their pickles from scratch not to salty by no means. Tomatoes basque was soooo good!

I was nervous when the quote at the top of the menu ominously warned that good food takes time but after wandering around the Downtown area for a restaurant with a wait shorter than 45 minutes my family decided to step in here as they would seat us immediately. They certainly came through with the promise that our food would take time, it took an hour to get our food from the time we were seated. As for the promise that the food would be good, that’s debatable. Along the way our waitress forgot to bring the water we asked for until we gave up and asked another waiter 15 minutes later. When I finally for my $ 18 chicken parm special, the garlic bread came out burnt. At least getting new bread was quick. The chicken was mediocre, I would never pay $ 18 for it. The entire meal from sitting to getting our check took two hours.

Cute place open all day! We had lunch at 2:30pm. We had the grilled tuna and the cheddar melt — both on amazing bread. The onion rings were great — light and not greasy. The place was full. Great service and yummy raspberry ice tea.

Love this restaurant! I’d been here before and my aunt and I decided to have lunch here again with her daughter and 2 grandkids. Very accommodating! They were all super sweet to the kids and very quick with service to us! Our order was taken promptly and trust me: it was a tough choice as there were many great items to choose from. The kids ordered grilled cheese and fries and for $ 6, it was two meals each. Their portions were gigantic! They were happy! My aunts daughter ordered the turkey and Brie panini and so did I. OMG. Awesome! And the Asian slaw that it came with was phenomenal. In addition to the turkey and Brie, there were sliced apples and cranberry chutney. Yum! My aunt had the chicken avocado panini and she was raving about it. I would say only that the kids portion could have been ½ of what it was and still would have been a great deal with no wasted food. Otherwise awesome meal and we will definitely be back!

I ordered the salmon BLT with onion rings and OMG it was that tasty! Everything was so fresh and hot. Hubby got the smothered steak which he loved. I’m not a steak lover but I tried his, it had a grass fed taste to me… if that makes sense so I did care for it, however I loved my salmon BLT. I also ordered their Italian wedding soup which was a plus! Must try the sweet potato fries also which were fresh, hot and crunchy, perfectly done inside!

This place was perfect for us. A casual dining experience at reasonable prices. Food quality was great, portions are fair and the most important the prices are reasonable. I am not paying $ 30 plus for food around the square. The service was also stellar.
