My son, who is a serious foodie, recommended this highly based on visits several years ago. We were very disappointed. I had what they called a cassoulet, which turned out to be a distant relative of this classic French dish. My son had a cold dish and our wives both had pasta. My son apologized for his recommendation and said the restaurant was a fair cry from its former self.

I had the Hatch Green Chile starter and it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t remember anything else about this restaurant but this dish is to die for. I hope it’s still on the menu the next time I’m in town. Description: hatch chiles, pork stew, cabbage, queso, corn tortillas, fried egg $ 16

Jenna is the best! She was our bartender tonight and she was amazing. Not only did she give us stellar service, she gave us some great recommendations on other restaurants for our weekend in paso. We have been here numerous times and we always leave super duper happy.

Delicious dinner and wine! Took quite a while to get our food… felt like an hour after we ordered… but it was really good once we finally had it. Would have been nice to have a bread basket or something in the meantime. Service was good though and the food was perfect once we finally got it:)

This place left me with very mixed feelings. The restaurant/bar is cute. We all had different cuts of steak for our entrees which we all liked. The espresso crème brûlée/donut dessert was yummy. Overall, we enjoyed the food but the service was very lacking. Our waitress, albeit nice and friendly, was not very knowledgable or attentive. Our appetizers and entrees came timely, but the desserts took forever. We had reservations for 5, but they put us at a table top for 4, when there was a table top for 6 right next to us that was never used the whole time we were at the restaurant. Overall, not a recommend due to the inconsistent service for this level of restaurant.

We are on a business trip and staying in Paso Robles. Had not been up here in more than 30 years. Wanted to check out a few good restaurants in the area and chose Villa Creek. The place looks inviting from the outside. My wife ordered a glass of wine. I ordered the Anaheim Chile and bread(not complimentary). In about 10 minutes the anaheim chile arrived. The chile looked good, but was heavily drizzled with crema fresca(which I do not like and was not mentioned on the menu. I spoke to server and she said the crema was listed on the menu, I pointed out to her that it was not. She took it back in a huff and that was the last we saw of her. Another server brought another chile and it was excellent. It actually one of the best chile rellenos that I have had. After another 10 minutes had passed we flagged down a server(ours had disappeared) and asked for the glass of wine we had ordered when we came in the restaurant. We never did get our bread. My wife ordered the sea bass, i ordered the butchers steak, medium. The presentation of both meals was good, but my steak and the sea bass were both undercooked. I decided not to say anything, my wife sent hers back, but to inly cook the fish a little more. Mine was good but not the way I asked for it. It took another 20 minutes for the sea bass to come back, by that time I had already finished my meal. The new waitress, also not happy with us, said that people rarely send anything back to the kitchen. At this point, my wife was so frustrated she didn’t even want to eat it. We asked for the check. They deducted the glass of wine from the bill but overall, the staff was unapologetic for the food and service. Can’t say I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would rather drive to Cambria(40 miles) than go back to Villa Creek.

Another one of our hometown favorites. My wife and daughter always seem to get the Butternut Squash Enchiladas. Margaritas are always great. Chris and the team always treat you well.

We tried Artisan the night before and Villa Creek was by far better. They have more gluten-free options. Their wine options were also really good. We had the tuna crudo, asparagus salad, and taco salad and I would order everything again it was delicious. The staff was also more attentive at VC. Much better overall experience at Villa Creek.

We had lunch here today and it was really good! Portions aren’t very large, but everything we had was great. Taco salad, chicken enchiladas, and the pizza are all very tasty!

Driving through Paso for business and stopped in for a quick bite. I asked the waitress what her favorite dishes were. She gave me a list five miles long. The one item she said stood out to me was the Market Pizza. I’m not a pizza guy but I decided to try it out. Braised beef with roasted potatoes… Sounded interesting. OMG. Best pizza I’ve ever had. No pizza flavor, just a unique blend of yummy goodness. Will be back for sure!

I’ve noticed as I’ve travelled around Central California that the current hip term for restaurants is «Farm to Table.» First, their guacamole was delicious! But they charged me $ 4.00 to replace the two sauces with dairy on two $ 2.50 tacos. As was intended I really like the image the term«farm to table» engenders; however, it does not mean what we think it means. Let me make this perfectly clear, animal products(meat, cheese, dairy, and eggs) don’t come from farms anymore, if they ever did. Farms grow plants, and plants are good for us. The image of a farm does not include the reality of violence that all animal agriculture requires. Meat is still murder and dairy is still rape and neither are sustainable. Stop the massacres in the name of elitist foodieism!

I’ve stopped by the bar part of this establishment during 3 visits to Paso and have always had an enjoyable experience. The martinis are fine, the wine selection is pretty good, the appetizers are very good, and the servers are a happy bunch. It’s especially fun here starting at about 4pm any day when the wine tours finish up and shrieking gaggles of ladies all hopped up on local Zin fill up the room. There’s a dog-friendly patio out front that’s open during the warmer months.

Definitely recommend some items here(entrees are a bit expensive though, so stick to drinks and appetizers) Drinks: we got the Pepino(SUPER refreshing) and the Manhattan(Hubby said it was the best he’s had) Apps: We got the«Not Nachos». I will dream about these tonight. It’s duck confit, chips with some amazing seasoning, fresh corn and onions, and Mexican cheese(I think it’s called cojita). But seriously TO-DIE-FOR. It’s actually a lot of food too. You may need a little more sustenance to feed 2 people for a full meal, but it’s definitely worth the money. Entrée: we got the chicken. Think fancy comfort food and you’re right on track. Mashed potatoes were on point! Just a little expensive for a chicken and potatoes dinner. Service: Our waiter was nice and we were seated quickly. Full exposure though, it was a Wednesday night… Overall, I’d go here again when in town. I think the drinks and the appetizers are enough to keep me satisfied.

Walking around looking for a nice place for lunch and Villa Creek caught my eye. The outside looked nice a clean, and noticed they had a bar. My husband and I like to sit at the bar when we go to a restaurant so this was a plus. Pretty good selection on the lunch menu and GREAT selection of wines and cocktails. The liquor selection at the bar was impressive! Ordered a glass of rose which was good. Ended up getting the guacamole and chips and the butternut squash enchiladas. Both we are great. Chips hot and crunchy with creamy guacamole and good made in house salsa. Butternut squash enchiladas were like a pillow. Super soft and creamy. Liked the succotash and creamy black beans. I ate the entire thing! If I were in the area I would definitely go again.

Villa Creek is my favourite restaurant in Paso hands down. They have a well-thought out, inventive menu with great tributes to the current season. There’s nothing I like more than appropriate usage of seasonal fruits and vegetables — it says a lot about the character and quality of the food. The Chef really cares about what he is doing here. Everything that comes out of the kitchen looks flawless, whether it’s the Not Nachos or the bone-in beef chop for two. All of the ingredients are fresh and combined both interestingly and expertly. You’re bound to have a positive, unique experience here. The service is always friendly and cordial. The servers and bartenders are attentive and accurate, and friendly, to boot. The wine list is extensive and really showcases the local wine scene. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to some of the best food Paso has to offer.

Still in love with the Shrimp on Garlic Red Wine Broth. Oh order fries and dip them in that rich addictive and luscious sauce. Mouth Joy! The Not Nachos are sublime. Decadent morsels of dazzling goodness. We’ve been enjoying lunches here and have had nothing but great food, great drinks and great service. Treat yourself.

My tongue is burning from the saltiness of the food. Tonight might have been a off night… note my earlier picture. The flatbreads were good. Food was noticeably salty. Be careful about getting attached to a wine because they might not have another bottle… which might be double the first bottle . I’ll give it another try another day… another year if they are still around. Good luck guys

The Butternut Squash Enchiladas were fantastic! We really liked the marinated mushroom appetizer as well. Nice atmosphere, good drinks. If I find myself in Paso again and they still have the Butternut Squash Enchiladas on the menu, I guarantee you I will be ordering that again. Glad we had a Saturday reservation, as the restaurant was pretty crowded that night.
