Wayside Liquor & Deli

Who doesn’t like saving money?! (Trick question) Everyone likes saving money. Since my husband and I live several hours apart, we spend a lot of money on gas. Mostly him — but this last weekend I drove down to see him and I needed gas before starting my drive home Sunday night.
He had pointed out this station earlier in the day and it caught my eye so I pulled in since I knew the freeway on-​ramp was pretty close by and I might not see another station. Plus, it was $ 0.30 cheaper than a station we’d stopped at earlier in his car (about twenty minutes away).
I put my Discover card in and the screen instructed me to see the cashier inside. I presented my card to the guy working and repeated the instruction to come see him, to which he replied: «Maybe that’s because we don’t take Discover». This could be taken two ways. Perhaps he was joking a little. But since he’s in customer service, a better way to answer might have been: «I“M SORRY. But we don’t take Discover.» I went outside and filled my tank on another card with rewards that aren’t nearly as great, and then hit the road.
I’ll remember this station when I’m back in town and I’ll definitely return with my Visa, but I really dislike when places don’t take Discover.
