Meh… The food tasted like it had been reheated. 2nd time that I have eaten lunch at this restaurant. Both times the food did not taste fresh. Seems too expensive for the quality of the food.

Came here one evening very shortly before closing. Had no idea what time they were closing when we got there. We were looking for food in the plaza and stumbled upon them and decided to go in for dinner. The staff made us none the wiser about closing time. They greeted us and seated us quickly & gave us all the time we needed to review the rather extensive menu. They cooked the food to our specifications and answered all our questions. I really enjoyed my salad– the ingredients were fresh, my salmon was perfectly cooked, and the dressing was excellent. My dad got the carne aguacatala and while I don’t eat meat, it looked great. He really enjoyed it and he’s a harsh food critic, having a culinary background. At this point everyone else had left the restaurant and the open sign was turned off, and the staff still didn’t rush us so I give them major props. I asked for the check early to help them out and they seemed surprised. They also let us use the restroom after we finished our meal and they were clean despite being the end of the day. I give them major props for the service, and the food matched. I think it was all reasonably priced as well. Great find, and would return again.

Service wasn’t the best. You get 20 waitresses who seem frazzled working for your table. We were asked by 3 different waitresses our drink order, then asked by 2 different girls our appetizer order. The food was really good though and came out pretty quickly after they finally got the order together. My favorite was the dessert. Must try the Nata dessert. I would come back just to have that dessert.

As always great food and amazing service! Had lomo saltado, bandeja paisa and ajiaco. Glad to see a new menu with a more«international» variety.

Decided to eat lunch here since I was getting my car serviced nearby and the reviews seems decent. I ordered the cheese smothered patacones(tostones) and it was disappointing, the tostones was stale. I never thought anything smothered in cheese can go wrong but this proved me wrong. I also had a Cuban sandwich which was OK, nothing special. Service was attentive but I will not be returning, this restaurant does not serve good Colombian food.

All I can say is WOW. We have had Columbian food before and enjoyed it but this place was great. To start the waitresses were very friendly and efficient. We tried many appetizers along with a salad with steak. No complaints on anything. In fact we are coming back with friends this weekend.

The chicken salad is delicious! Try the passion fruit juice, it is refreshing and sweet. I shall return for other entrees.

YUM! Came in for the first time with a few coworkers for lunch and I am so we found it! The food is delicious and very filling especially for lunch portions. We ordered empanadas for the table and they are unlike any other empanadas I have tasted. I believe they are filled with beef and potato. and they have a really great hot sauce and kind of chimichurri-esque sauce that goes really well with them. Of course I am a huge fan of fresh hot sauce so I put it on everything I ordered. For actual lunch, I ordered the grilled chicken with a side of rice and beans. The chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy and full of flavor. And who doesn’t love rice and beans? I thought the service was very friendly and quite attentive especially for how busy it was during the lunch hour. The prices are pretty reasonable on their own, although it is great if you can catch the lunch special — it changes daily and its less than $ 10. Be warned — you will be full when you leave this place! It’s difficult to go back to work afterwards as I feel a nap would be more appropriate :)

It’s rough to find a «local» place in Pembroke Pines that isn’t a chain restaurant, but El Balcon gives hope for more to come. For about $ 20, I left more than full and satisfied. I ordered a Corona, a beef empanada and Chicken in Mushroom Sauce. I don’t have to describe the Corona, but let me touch on the empanada. For being readily available, the Colombian pastry was very fresh. They also have ají on the table to add an extra kick to the empanadas or whatever else you like it with.(I threw it all over the rice.) The chicken dish came with sides of rice, broccoli and French fries, while the chicken was topped with a creamy mushroom(and possibly wine?) sauce. Service was good, as well. Took a little bit to get us our checks, but they were busy — no biggie. Next time I’m ordering some chicarones… they were huge.

Great little place, excellent food and the service you can’t compare. A big plus is the musician, he was extraordinarily. I will definitely come back. The maduros with crema were delicious.

This place has great food. I gave them three stars because they are eternally in the weeds! The servers are very nice but it takes forever for simple things like getting the check.

Tonight we came to this restaurant for my bf’s grandfather’s birthday, his gf is Colombian and I’m guessing that she suggested this place and OMG I’m so glad that we came here. The place is nice and sleek and inviting, several tables and booths and tvs around. I think this would be a go to place to watch fútbol. Anyhow, let’s get to the food… so the waitress suggested sangria and it was delicious and went great with a nice plump epañada, I chose carné. The six sauces they had accented it perfectly, I liked the green one, but i also liked the red one. I ased Jean-Paul if the entres really came with all of the sides listed and I said, OMG that’s going to be alot. BUT when all the plates came, every dish looked delicious and full, considering the price for each entre is a little over $ 10, but worth it! We decided on the Chicken and mushroom dish, with tostones and fried yuca, and we also ordered a chicken and onion dish with came with mashed potatoes corn and queso with what I believe is a guacamole drizzle and that was awesome! I looked down and saw everyone else’s dish and they looked amazing too. We took a take out menu, because this place is on the way home from my work. We will be back. The service was great and friendly too.

Wow this place is amazing. I came here with my family to celebrate my grandfather’s birthday. The servers were very attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. We ordered some white sangria and it did not disappoint. I shared chicken breast with mushrooms plate and a lomo saltado with two others and it was more than enough food. They were both great but I definitely recommend the chicken breast with mushrooms. It was spectacular. As sides I recommend the tostones with cheese and the loaded mashed potatoes. Everyone in our party loved their meal. The great thing is that they also have take out and cantina. I definitely recommend. This place.

One of my local go to places when in the mood for good home style food. This one in particular has always had wonderful service and is always very clean which to me is very important. Every dish that I have eaten here has been made fresh and with good flavor. On the table they always have a delicious spicy chili sauce that gives the perfect touch to any dish. This place is also a great place to grab breakfast that is very tasty and at a great price. They have various lunch specials that are very filling. As of yet I have always been satisfied with my choices and also with the care they have given me here.

Really tasty Colombian food. The restaurant is very spacious and has beautiful décor. They have a special party room that can accommodate large parties for special occasions. The server we had didn’t really speak English, which is fine because we managed to communicate, but the service was slow. The restaurant wasn’t very busy at the time, but expect a leisurely meal. I ordered the palomilla steak and it was DELICIOUS! You can specify the done-ness of the meat(I ordered medium) and the steak was flavorful, juicy, and tender! It is topped with onions and served with two sides of your choosing. I got white rice and beans, as well as sweet plantains. Portions are large and filling. I ordered a café con leche after I devoured my meal. It wasn’t too bitter or sweet, it’s very well made. I would definitely return to this restaurant in the future. It’s a franchise, so I won’t hesitate to go to a different location as well.

When I tried the food, thought I would give it a 5 star for sure, they lost a star for the service! tried the pan de bono… yum yum, and had a steak with avocado, the fried yuca were the bomb. the service was slow and mostly non existent, had to multiple times stop a couple of waitresses to request water! This place is really nice, is located in a shopping mall so there is more than enough parking.
