My mother wanted fried chicken for lunch. I typed in diners, local. Wayne’s was one on the list. Since they were nearby and open(Sunday-1:00) we chose to try it out. We were delighted with the service, the food was the real southern cooking I look for when I’m home, & we noticed how friendly all the staff were. My mother is in a wheelchair-we were helped in and out when done. The food will get you there-the service will have you going back. What a BLESSING of an experience. Thanks

Excellent food and great service! Did not expect this level of delicious home-cooked meal from the unassuming diner, but very glad we stopped in. My husband had the country-fried steak dinner and I had the hamburger steak with onions and gravy. Both tasted like they were made in a very good home kitchen. I also have to say that the place is spotless and neat as a pin. Will definitely stop again!

We went to get the fried chicken we read about on the reviews. They only had chicken tenders so we got the hamburger steak. We were also excited to see they had field peas. When we got the meal, the hamburger steak was slightly over cooked and the field peas were actually black eyed peas. The okra had a thick batter. Service wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about.

Major disappointment all around. I went because of old reviews about fried chicken. Only fried chicken on menu was chicken strips. Booths were extremely framed for a normal sized arty of 4 three of us ordered hamburger steak. Very much overcooked. Ordered field was and snaps. Got black eyed peas and snaps. Big difference. Fried okra had strange tasting breading tasted like hush puppy breading. Waitress brought food and then disappeared. 6:30 pm and very few customers. Now I see why. Will not be back again

Diner setting. Quaint with home-cooked style menu. Food was delicious, service a bit slow. Got veggie plate, fried pickles, burger. All was tasty. Plenty of seating and clean.

I LOVE Wayne’s and love Wayne himself! The food is always delicious. Everything I’ve ever ordered has always been great. Fried chicken, shrimp, pot pies, spaghetti, and all of the veggies. Great country cooking. Friendly atmosphere.

The liver was excellent. But In the middle of ordering my meal she turn around and start talking to a couple that just walked in and start seating them, so I wasn’t sure if she really took the whole order, I asked her if she heard my order(a glass of water and the liver) and she«yes a glass of water» and I said and the liver, she reply«just wait until I seat these people» While eating I needed some hot sauce but she never even look at me, I notice she was talking to the people on my right and on my left, but wouldn’t even look at me. So I finally got a hold of another lady who was very friendly and have me the hot sauce right away. Not sure if I am coming back. You be the judge.

Well after reading all the amazing reviews I decided to stop by this place. We walked in was greeted by a very nice lady who told us to sit wherever we liked. We chose a booth and it was not cleaned. The waitress was quick to wipe it down. A patron made it a point to tell us he ate there 4 days a week and how the food was amazing. We decided to try the half chicken with 2 sides. Before I go into my review be advise the menu says fried chicken orders take 20 minutes to prepare. Yum fresh fried chicken. After placing our order, 2 mintes later the waitress returns with our«fresh fried chicken» plate. It was luke warm and the skin was rubbery. This was this Diners famous dish. What was happening here. Too sum it up. I WILLNOTBERETURNING. IFYOUCANTGETYOURSIGNATUREDISHRIGHTTHENHOWCANANYTHINGELSETASTEGOOD. Disappointed is an under statement. I guess Popeyes is a good alternative…

The best chicken fried steak i ever had. Cracker Barrel lost the title today. It’s very thick and juicy. I’m from Atlanta and I will be back when I’m in town again.

Good home cooked southern cuisine. I’ve been here several times and I’ve never had a bad meal. Quick service is a plus too!

I had fried chicken, cheese grits, rice and gravy and corn bread. It was very good, especially the fried chicken. You have to wait 20 minutes, and they make that clear verbally and on the menu, so don’t get upset when it takes… wait for it… 20 minutes. Drum roll.

Average diner food. The décor is classic 50’s. The restaurant and bathrooms were also very clean. The food was average. I had the fried shrimp and oyster combo. The shrimp was good and fresh but the oysters were mushy. I had mashed potatoes and fried okra for my side. The potatoes tasted like they were made from instant but the okra was fresh and crispy. Overall just an average experience but if you’re driving by and need to make a pit stop, give it a try. It beats the same ol’ fast food joints.

Definitely a small town diner, was so satisfying. Have never had liver and onions so close to how grandma made it, minus the gravy which also was amazing BTW. Can’t complain about kids meals, and unsweetened tea was so refreshing! Fried catfish was delicious! Waitress was super friendly and very attentive :) kids devoured banana split, didn’t get to try but I’m guessing it was spot on too! Lots of chain restaurants nearby, def skip those and stop here!

First time visitors to this diner. Good alternative to fast food and a sit-down restaurant chain. Fast, friendly service, accurate food order and the kids were given a gift bag with lots of stuff in it, such as silly straws, USA bracelets, pencils, a car, etc. Food was good — a lot of fried choices. I would have liked to have seen more salads and fruit on the menu.

Man do I love living on the west side! Fried chicken or veggie platter?! So many veggies it’s hard to choose. And if you are looking for some great catering these are the right people to make your group happy! So yummy and always delivered on time!

Definitely get the fried chicken! This is what made me give this place 5 stars! Plus, the desert was pretty darn good too. The fried okra was really good, meatloaf was ok and the mashed potatoes were bland. Green beans and corn were from a can. Reasonable prices. The specials are definitely the way to go here! We got the special for $ 9.99. It came with fried chicken(2 large pieces of white meat) or meatloaf, 3 sides, corn muffin(it must have weighed a pound… super dense and really good) plus a piece of cake. There was so much food that even my teenage boys couldn’t finish.

So good — the special was the open face turkey sandwich and it was delicious! For dessert we had the coconut cream pie and it was the best I’ve had. The servers were very patient with my grumpy children. We will be back!

What a great place to dine! Friendly, fun atmosphere and really good! The chicken fried steak was fantastic, and the Chicken Pot Pie… oh my goodness was that delicious!!! The crust was incredibly flaky and buttery, just as it should be! We’ll definitely dine here again and hopefully eat dessert first so that we have room for it.

The slices of onions are bigger than the burgers, the waits are long, the servers are rude and the place is full of crying children. Save yourself the calories and go to Ruby Tuesdays next door. Even for a chain, it’s got to be better than this place.
