King Taco

My family and I frequent the many Kimg Taco locations and this one on Rosemead is by far THE WORST!!! This location is now a running joke with my family because we know our order WILL be wrong!
They’ve hired younger staff who socialize and slow production down even when the orders are backed up!
Today is the finally the day we will no longer go to this establishment. Made a to go order, and get home and as expected, the order was wrong! It’s like everyone in the Rosemead location is consistently unreliable!!!
Whomever is the manager for this location should be ashamed! *FAIL*

If Unilocal had a ½ star increment, I would probably give it 3.5-star. It is not that this place has bad food or price, but I prefer the overall experience at El Gavilan. Both restaurants serve similar food, but El Gavilan has the salsa bar, where they have beans, peppers, onions, salsas… etc. My biggest gripe at King Taco is that they don’t have any of these things that you can put on yourself. They’d put them on, with the red or green sauce. So If I’m paying for similar price for similar food, I much rather go El Gavilan. We go there quite a bit for lunch.
Another thing at King Taco, the waiting line can be long.

Delicious, authentic Mexican food. I’ve tried their tacos, but always find myself going back to the Bean & Cheese burrito.
Lunchtime can be busy, but you know that means it’s good. Open til midnight, so it’s the perfect place for your late night email.
Always a treat, worth a try if you’ve never been.

I’ve been to king taco 3 times, and this specific location twice. I never had a great experience with king taco until my recent visit.
The last two times, king taco was very disappointing. their tripas had an odd smell and their burritos were dry.
This visit; however was great! I ordered an all meat burrito and they did not skip out. The meat was very juicy and I feel that they gave me more than usual! I usually don’t get full off of one burrito, but this kept me full, but not feeling heavy. The staff here is always kind and I like how they have a screen that you can look at in front of the cashier so you can see if your order was put in properly.
I also love that they dont skip out on the red sauce and there is an abundant amount of seating. If you are in the area I recommend that you come here to grab a quick bite to eat!

Horrible sauce and the wait during lunch was like 20min long just to get 4 carne Asada tacos. Unbelievable. I see why this king taco had low stars on Unilocal.This is not the king taco to go if you are getting king taco, that’s for sure.

I’ve been eating king taco for over 20 years great food and killer Chile only problem is parking ! Lot to small need a bigger parking lot lol but king taco always the best !!!

If you want a bean filled burrito with hardly any meat this is your place to go. Disappointed.

One of the best places for street tacos and a burritos. They have several locations in California but this place is closest to Cerritos and they have ample parking and indoor and out seating. Horchata is really good to wash down the big carne Asada burrito. They have nachos too.

The wait at this place sucks. It also looks awful inside. The food is meh at best. Seriously you are better off going to a smaller mom and pop Mexican place. Oh and the parking is bad on the weekends.

Wow this place is freakin rediculousss!!! It’s so sad that king taco hires the slowest people ever!!! R they stupid or something I’d be better off going to a restaurant and waiting less there. We just waited 1 hour… yes 1 Dan hour for a fucken taco combo. Just 1! Pinches idiots no save love que estan haciendo! Never go there guys they r just plain bad service!!!

I said it once and I’ll say it again… LOS BURRITOS ESTAN MUY CHIQUITOS!
So, I just found out this King Taco is a hop, skip and jump from me! Okay well not that close but its better than driving all the way down the 91! It could be a good thing and it could be a bad thing!
I love King Taco! The meat must be marinated in magic juice for a while because it has a great taste to it and then adding the red salsa to anything just makes it outstanding! Then again you could add that red salsa to a rubber tire and I bet it would taste delicious!
The portions through the years have been getting smaller and smaller! The prices… higher and higher! The burritos are a pathetic little size compared to other taco spots! I think if I really wanted to I could probably eat two of them! The shame I would feel afterwards would be worth it! :)
The ordering process made me feel like I was at the DMV waiting to get my number called «number 413 window 5!» After we had devoured our meal I had to order a burrito to-​go and thought I was going to have to wait the 15 minutes for my order but instead the lovely lady at the register expedited my order and I was out of there!
Four stars!!! Five stars if the burritos magically grew in size!

I love Taco King but it’s been awhile so I was excited when I saw one between me and the freeway and I was nearly hangry having skipped breakfast to make my appt. on time.
I ordered the combination burritto with carne as asada, with their once classic tomatillo salsa (the ‘medium’ choice) an old favorite with rice, beans and the asada. And the pickled carrots/​onions/​jallepenos/​cauliflower on the side. They are considered a condiment in most restaurants. Here, you will pay .39 for them.
The burritto was oh kaaaaay but smaller than most. The tortilla dwarfed it the point that there was about 5 inches of tortilla just wrapped around as a second layer. I tore it off. It was good, not bad but not the flavor explosion you used to get.
Now about the carrot/​etc. condiment. I live, eat and breath spicy food. Seriously, for me, no heat no eat. I just need it SPICY and I’ve never met a jallepeno I couldn’t eat. This stuff was so hot I couldn’t eat it. None of the pickley goodness you normally got, no, this was straight on fire in my mouth. I’ve encountered less than five things in MY LIFE that were too spicy to eat. This one just blew my chee (went with phoenetic) because after a few bites of that, if just fried my tastebuds.
I was def disappointed. Hungry plus an old favorite is almost guaranteed to satisfy. Not today, not so much.

My first time trying King Taco ever as I was craving for tacos on Taco Tuesday. Who doesn’t like tacos on Taco Tuesday, honesty?
Ordered 2 chicken tacos and an chicken quesadilla. My chickens tacos were so good. I even put in some green sauce (mild sauce) in it, even though it was considered hot, but still so good. Quesadilla were good too.
The line to order your food is long. But they do have several pick-​up area which that can help speed up the ordering process.
Overall: Not my favorite taco joint, but at least this is somewhere I never tried before even. It’s not bad at all.

This is my first time at this location. I’ve been a big fan of king tacos for 10+ years. I really like the al pastor. This is not my favorite location though. The east LA and el Monte locations are the best in my opinion.
I like:
Al pastor all meat burrito: when I feel like eating meat.
Carne asada burrito with no beans: I get this on most of my visits.
The green salsa is awesome! Probably the best green salsa I’ve ever had.

The food was off tonight. Cold meat and cold tortillas. Waited 20 minutes for this? Yuck. Disappointed.

Now here’s a review that’s past over due. I’ve been going to King Taco for over 8 years now and I love the al pastor and carne asada with both red and green salsa.
I preferably like going to the Pico Rivera and Lynwood locations as those are the two I’ve always received the best service from but all in all, the food is good at any location.
Al pastor always comes first here with my choice of meat. I love the flavor! The al pastor has a smoky taste with onions all throughout. Add the green salsa and you’re in for a treat. I’ve also come to like the red salsa with the al pastor but only the al pastor.
For my second choice of meat here is the carne asada. This is great for anyone who loves the flavor of lemon because that’s what you’ll get with the carne asada and the portion is amazing. Get the all meat burrito and you’ll see exactly what I mean about the portion.
I’ve seen minor changes through out the years with King Taco and none damaging. The food is still great after all these years and puts a smile on my face every visit when my order number is called lol.

Domingo 07−27−15 llegue a las 4.53 ordene seis tacos con todo y un sope de pastor, pedí dos vasos con agua,
1.-tardaron más de 30 minutos para dar la orden
2.-pedí la comida con todo y no le pusieron salsa cuando le pedí a la muchacha la salsa me dijo que no lleva salsa le enseñó el recibo y me contesta que no llevan salsa adentro, el recibo dice copa salsa, le dije que me diera y me la quería cobrar.
3.- la comida esta fría.
4.- la comida no tiene sabor
5.-los tacos tienen el tamaño de 1.5pulgadas de diametro.
6.- el sopes chiquitito, lo pedí de pastor y a lo único que sabe es a cebolla frita y es mas cebolla que carne.
7.- compre un vaso de salsa, el precio es de $ 2.99 y el vaso es de 6 onzas, parecía que iba a jugar a las comidas y el sabor y la consistencia, parecía sólo agua.
7.- los vasos con agua también de 6 onsas y con premio, porque me gane un pelo
8.- los baños sucios y con papeles tirados
9.- el comedor sucio, esta una persona limpiando, pero pone más atención a lo que está uno platicando que a su trabajo
10.- la muchacha que me atendió, parece que le pide permiso a una mano para poder mover la otra, y todo lo hace en cámara lenta y con mala actitud.
Señores encargados de esté negocio, por favor pongan más atencion, esta tienda tiene mal sevicio, no está limpio, el personal no está capacitado, la comida sin sabor y fría, eso sí están limpiando la campana más rápido de lo que hacen la comida, yo se que se adelanta trabajo para salir a tiempo, pero si el comedor está lleno de clientes, se tienen que atender primero,
Probablemente les paresca exagerada, pero yo tengo experiencia en esté tipo de negocios, si yo fuera inspector de la corporación probablemente les pondría una calificación de 35 puntos, y eso que no cheque las temperaturas de la comida y los procedimientos, pero la comida ya preparada (tacos y sopes) probablemente daba una temperatura de menos de 20 grados, cuando tiene que ser arriba de 45 grados

This is my favorite location for King Taco.
There are plenty of parking available. This location is big and clean inside the restaurant.
I heart Mexican food and I drive down to this location or always stop by on my way home if I am nearby.
Carne asada taco — omg. So so good! Their carne asada is flavored just right and just melts in your mouth! Drools. I always have them put the cilantro and onion on my taco.
Their red and green sauce! Best sauce! I wish I can purchase it in a bottle. Red sauce is pretty spicy so be aware! After trying their red sauce couple times I got used to the spicy flavor ;)
Chicken Quesadilla — This is also tasty. They give sour cream and guacamole on the side. Cheese is melted just right and it’s so good!
Carne asada Sope — There aren’t that many taco places that have sope available but you should try it if you haven’t. Ask them for extra cabbage! The tortilla is fried right amount and bean on the tortilla goes well with the taste!
Tamales — I heart their sweet tamales. You must try it! It’s like a dessert for me so I don’t get the one with meat. If you put small amount of red sauce on it, it taste Bomb!
Horchata — Their horchata taste really good. If you are not a fan of Horchata you should try it at this location. B/​C I was one of them and now I am addicted to Horchata!
Overall the restaurant gets pretty busy in the peak times of lunch and dinner but usually it doesn’t take too long for the food to come out. Be patient! You’ll get the most tasting Mexican food!
I just wish they have one in my neighborhood so I don’t have to drive down. That’s the only downside.
Definitely will be coming back again for my legitimate Mexican meal! ;)

I wanted Hot Pot; my friend wanted tacos. Like always. [~.~]
So, this place is open till late but man. Their tacos are small and okay. I mean I’ve had better. I don’t understand the long lines all the time.
Their burrito, meh. I’d rather go to Pepe’s if I really don’t have any other choice but to eat one.
Their nachos? Definitely have other places that offers better looking and better tasting nachos.
You’ll have to drag me and pay for my food just to get me to go back to this place.

This King Taco location is one of the busier ones! I couldn’t even find parking couple times. And this location seems to have the breakfast options, which not all the locations have. Their breakfast menu is pretty much 3 types of breakfast burritos and breakfast tortas.
Now having tried breakfast burrito (ham, egg, and cheese), I’d rather not eat it again… with the beans, onion & cilantro, it just does not make a good breakfast burrito. You really need potatoes IMO for a breakfast burrito, which this place lacks.
Anyways, just stick to what they’re known for and you should be fine.

I love this joint. Everything always tastes fresh. There is a lot of people. Correction, there is always a lot of people and getting your food may take a while, but trust me, it is worth it. Forget Baja Fresh or Rubio’s haha.
