WELOVETHISPLACE!!! We came here out of the blue one day and had their whole chicken dinner. The chicken was so juicy, flavorful, and fall off the bone tender. The chicken was accompanied by charro beans, Spanish rice, and tortillas. The beans and rice were really tasty. One of the great things is their salsa bar. Their various salsas range from mild to «Oh my god, this is hellfire hot!» Whichever you choose, they’re freshly made and delicious. Not in the mood for rotisserie chicken? Try a chicken torta. It’s a great sandwich with refried beans, cheese, chicken, onions, and guacamole, on a fresh bollilo roll. We’ve eaten at cowboy chicken, and pollo tropical but neither of them are as good as El Pollo Regio. One last thing, the staff is unbelievable. They’re friendly, helpful, courteous, and one of them is always making sure the dining room and salsa bar are clean.

Half chicken(4 pieces) had lots of seasoning, 5 corn tortillas, rice and beans and dipping sauce. Really really good. $ 8.25, includes a drink also.

Great chicken asado! Great service no matter what time you come. The light green salsa is the best. If you eat inside you have the chance to taste all the salsas and other toppings.

Love love love their half chicken dinner. Chicken can be a bit greasy but has such a wonderful flavor who cares if you need a few more napkins. Have never been inside. This is a fast food drive through restaurant for me. Chicken is served with Mexican rice, beans and some of the best tortillas ever! It’s a regular stop on those nights I don’t want to cook but still want food that’s not «Fast food» like burgers etc. if you happen to be driving by when the chicken is cooking, the smell alone will pull you in! My Spanish is not great and the employees Spanglish is a bit iffy, but we make do without any problem. I’m sure they get their laugh of the day when I try to order in Spanish. They’ve actually been teaching me Spanish when I go there because I’m there so much and it’s become part of the fun of going. Don’t worry if you don’t speak Spanish, they’ll understand you just fine. I’ve never had them get an order wrong!

One of my go-to spots for lunch. I love the chicken, so moist and flavorful. I get the 2 piece special for $ 5.49. The aquacate-spicy guac salsa is so delicious. Sometimes the staff may not understand your english, and it can get crowded inside if you don’t go through the drive through.

Still an excellent take-out…the chicken is delicious, grilled onion very tasty, beans yummy and love the rice. This time we got the whole chicken and ate on it for 3 days… the last bite tasted as good as the first. The seasoning makes this chicken so juicy, so good… not enough words to adequately describe it. I have never had any problems with the staff… they understand my order perfectly. And it is a fast service… chicken smoked and grilled ahead but still very hot.

I like it. Fells like by the border, taste real Mexican food. Nice menu with pictures so you see what you order. Nachos with guacamole, and salsas included to order.

I like the El Pollo Regio in The Colony better. This location is smaller, smaller menu. If you customize your order they would not understand as they only speak Spanish. Easiest way is to order the combos(ex: I want #1, #2, etc.) We ordered their half chicken combo(which comes with beans, rice, and white corn tortilla). Their half chicken looked like it was old, missing meat off the drumstick. Maybe it was overcooked where meat melted off the bones so the white meat was really dry. Their carne asada tacos were ok, but the cilantro and onion came smooshed and soggy… not fresh at all. I love El Pollo Regio’s complimentary chips & salsa bar though — from mild to habanero!

Tasty chicken good rice and the beans are just ok. The real star of the show is their tasty salsas I believe there are 4 in all but the avacado verde is simply the best the 2 reasons for the star deduction 1. There are never any chips in the warming bin and the other is the tortillas never taste fresh

The chicken is good, but not good enough for the prices they charge. It’s not the cleanest inside, and needs a major update. Don’t let the great smokey smell draw you in. Employees were very friendly, but acted like they never seen a white guy in the place.

Don’t like the sides and chicken is pre-cooked and wrapped in paper so the skin is soggy.

I got #15. The chicken flautus are awesome. I gave the guy in the drive-thru a $ 20 and he gave me $ 1 in change. Looked at me a lil weird and i drove off not thinking about it. Then… I looked at my receipt when i got back to my hotel and he punched in $ 10. Count your change before you leave this place.

I always get the half chicken with rice and corn tortilla. The guacamole is awesome at the little sauce bar. I’d say 9 times out of 10 the chicken is moist and fresh, I have only one experience where the chicken really lacked luster and was dry. The caramel stuffed churro are delicious as well.

Not much to complain about with this place. Decently priced, and everything I tried tasted average to above average. Tried their Verde chicken enchilada meal. The sauce was a little on the sweet side and it seemed a bit greasy, but it IS a fast food place. My friend got the beef barbacoa and it was pretty darn good — the meat was so tender! I hear the chicken is their specialty. I need to try it out sometime. They have a little salsa bar where you can get your own chips and salsa to eat with your meal. OMG, their special avocado sauce is GOOD. I need to buy me a bottle for use at home!

I come here for the roasted/grilled Chicken, salsas are good, place is clean, chicken can be hit or miss, the only problem I run into from time to time, is timing, chicken is obviously made at certain times, and then sits and waits in a oven to keep it warm, but it dries out the chicken. Or other times it get grilled to much and you get chunky burned pieces, plus chicken is small compared to other places

Such good chicken! This place is pretty amazing. It’s fast food, so the prices are great, but that doesn’t make the quality of the food worse! This is ‘almost’ like restaurant quality stuff to me! Of course, I’ve only had the chicken meal, but it is so tasty that I don’t want to try anything else. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas and an onion. Then there is a full salsa bar with more stuff to add. The habanero sauce is a great choice. The televisions are all playing Mexican Soap Operas. Riveting stuff. Who doesn’t like watching Mexican soap operas?
