This place was great! Loved the stuffed cabbage and cozy atmosphere. Ate with a big group and waitress never missed a beat! BYOB is always a plus. I will be back!

My co-workers and I were craving some German food for lunch and thought to try this place(even though it is Polish). Pleasantly surprised! Very authentic and tasty. I had the Hungarian Goulash which was fantastic, the Stuffed Cabbage was good as well. My friend got the Kishka which he said was different than what he had other places but very good. It is owned and operated by Polish immigrants. There is even a small little shop that sells authentic polish goods(I picked up a jar of dill pickles cant wait to try). I would say some dishes were a little expensive BUT if you are looking for authenticity this is great spot.

Love this place! I went here on a little dining expedition with a colleague of mine. (Full disclosure — I wrote about the visit for Plano Profile. I’m pulling a little from that piece to write this review.) Stepping inside we were transported to any number of fantastic family-owned shops we’ve visited around the world. On one side was a cheery restaurant, complete with polka dot tablecloths, bright red countertops and small groups of people chatting. A small market sits next to the register with stacked shelves of imported Polish foodstuffs. Tucked away in the back is a small deli counter. It’s the sort of place that makes you feel welcome and at home. The wait staff is super helpful. We explained it was our first time to try Polish food and we had no idea what to order. On her recommendation, we ordered the Taste of Poland sampler platter. It offered a bit of all of the restaurant’s most popular items. When it arrived, we were taken aback by the sheer amount of food on display. Truly, we could have split the Taste of Poland between three people and left feeling very satisfied. A single link of kielbasa(Polish sausage) was perfectly prepared: crispy skin on the outside, bursting with juicy flavor on the inside. The meat was very mild, a stark contrast to the smoked sausages that are common in Texas bbq country. Convenient for sharing, the pierogi(similar to ravioli) came prepared two ways, either stuffed with potatoes or beef. The beef was very tender, like it had been cooked for some time to the point of falling apart. The potatoes had a very cheese-like texture, reminding us of ricotta. Both were very tasty. Meat dumplings had nearly a quarter-inch thick doughy«skin» surrounding a pork meatball made with anise. The anise gave the pork a very slight, not overpowering, flavor of black licorice. The potato dumplings fascinated us. On the outside, they looked like a sautéed potato chunk. On the inside, they were filled with tender mashed potatoes. Amazing and delicious! A side of sauerkraut salad reminded us of coleslaw, with a slight tangy kick. I think it would be the perfect side to pair with a platter of fried chicken for an unusual twist on a traditional summer picnic lunch. Golbaki(stuffed cabbage roll) was by-far our favorite item on the platter. Both of us grew up with grandmothers who made stuffed cabbage rolls — one bite and we were transported back to our childhoods. Interestingly the golbaki came with a mushroom sauce. We’re both used to a tomato-based sauce on stuffed cabbage rolls. Our waitress explained that for the Taste of Poland platter only, golbaki is served with mushroom sauce. If you want a tomato sauce, either ask when you order the platter or order it as a stand-alone entrée. The salad and golbaki were delicious with the placki ziemniaczane(potato pancakes). Our other favorite was bigos, a stew made with sauerkraut, meat, onions and dried mushrooms. The sauerkraut was very mild, though there was the signature slight tang that you would expect. The meat was finely diced and the stew’s sauce was very creamy. This is the perfect dish to have on a cold day when you’re feeling miserable and longing for comfort food. We didn’t have room for dessert. The menu boasts of blintzes with cheese, fruit and cheese pierogis, strudels, Polish poppy seed cake and Polish-style cheesecake(the latter is very intriguing!). We’re saving that for our next visit. We browsed the market shelves as we waited to pay. We found a good selection of European meats and cheeses, along with European chocolates, candy, preserves and other foodstuffs — even multiple types of borscht. YUM!!!

The best Polish food in the state(other than my mama’s kitchen)! I got the pierogi and was very impressed with how well made they were. The service was absolutely great and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be back here the next time I’m in the DFW area. I highly recommend this place over the other joint in Houston. For You knows how to make people happy!

My first time to this restaurant and must say the experience was more than I had hoped for. The potato pancakes were very good, they are very similar to the one’s my Lithuanian grandmother made. The pierogi was delicious, cabbage rolls excellent. The food spoke to my heart, not the Lithuanian versions I am used to but so close and absolutely delicious. This will definitely be on my list of go to restaurants.

My husband and I had the meatballs and roasted pork with potato dumplings. Food was great. The star of the meal were the potato dumplings. The portions were generous. We will be back.

The staff is extremely friendly! I’m used to a lot of rude Polish owned restaurants with rude service. Everything we had was cooked to perfection! We will definitely go back. My picky daughter even ate the potato pancakes, potato and cheese pierogi, and chicken noodle soup!

If you are looking for an authentic Polish cuisine this is the right place to go. The Taste of Poland offers a selection of the most popular polish dishes, all of them are very tasty, are made from scratch, and are made with fresh ingredients(you can tell this by the specific taste the dishes have). I personally recommend PORKCUTLET [Schabowy] with mashed potatoes and with Cucumber salad(mizeria); BLINTZESWITHCHEESE [Naleśniki]; as well as; HOMEMADEPIEROGI [Pierogi domowej roboty] as some of the best menu choices. The restaurant is a diner style place; this however together with the polish music playing in the background, gives you a very authentic feel. I also have to give credit to an amazing waitress — the service there is exceptional.

No Chicago restaurant can beat the authenticity and quality of food here. The best Polish food outside of my mom’s kitchen!

I was hoping for a lot more considering the reviews were so high. Our waitress was kinda snooty. The menu had a hair stuck inside. The food was okay. I will not be back.

For a small business, I was impressed with the effort that went into decoration and cleanliness. The first thing I noticed was how clean it was. The interior decorating is nice and a little modern. The price was reasonable for what was, to me, a relatively unique meal. I enjoyed real, homemade-style polish food here.

This is a hidden gem, the food was great. They also have a nice little store area where you can buy all the essential polish items. If you are looking for real authentic Polish then go here as you will not be disappointed.

Perhaps because it is the only Polish joint around, it is the only place you can really grab some authentic Polski grub in the area. That might mean they don’t have to try… but they DO! Oh, glorious St. Stanislaus do they try. Their fare is excellent. From the borscht to their pierogi to the goompki to the unassuming mieloni everything they make is outstanding and reminds me of homemade Polish recipes(and I do know them well). There’s probably a little woman in the back with a hunch and a bonnet stirring a pot with one hand and hitting her son in law over the head with a wooden spoon in the other, but I’m too humbled at the thought of meeting her to look.

I love this place only because it seems to be the only place in town that offers real Pirogi’s. The service is a notch below average. They consistently mess up your order. They are not rude they just don’t pay attention to detail and mess up a lot. The food is great though. Defintley not a place to go when you are in a hurry or expect some great service

I am so happy to be driving by and found the food my grandmother served on her table when I was a boy. I tried the white borscht and the potato pancakes. It’s so cool to hear people chatting in polish too. I can’t wait to bring my family here. The food was perfect. Great deli atmosphere with a nice dining area.

One of my favorite places in the DFW area. TOP is a restaurant/market located right off the S. bound service road of 75. Discovered this place on accident and was very excited to try it. I spent several years living in E. Wisconsin and just west of the Chicago area and as you may know, those areas have huge Polish/Polish-American populations. One of my good friends in HS was lucky enough to have parents whose parents(whew!) emigrated from Poland and mom had Grandma’s recipes. Needless to say, I’ve had a few pierogis and Polish sausages(insert joke here). The Pierogis: Excellent. That is all. Goulash: Excellent. Very hearty. Pork roast with gravy and potato dumplings: Good. Pork was a bit dry. Pricey at 15.95. Red borscht with croquettes: Great, however sour cream isn’t included for some reason and that’s a big no-no as far as I’m concerned. What really makes TOP for me is the market. Pickles. Pierogis. Sausage. The fresh sausage here is awesome and it’s at a damn good price as well. The names are all in Polish but they’ll help you figure it out. I stop in here about once a month for some. They even have blood sausage available. Score! Service is good as well. The lady who I believe is the owner is very friendly. Enjoy!

I drive pass this place everyday, and I finally had a chance to try them out for dinner. I’m so glad that I did. When we first got there, we weren’t sure to seat ourselves or wait. We ended up just seating ourselves and grabbing menus. I suggest having a sign when you walk in on what patrons should do. Since we haven’t been here before, the waitress was very helpful in explaining their menu and offering suggestions. My brother and I decided to split the Taste of Poland Platter, and it was more than enough food. This hearty platter could easily feed 2 – 3 people. It came with a generous portion of pierogi(ravioli), potato dumplings, Polish sausage, bigos(mixture of sauerkraut, meat, onions, mushrooms) and sauerkraut salad served on potato pancakes. I highly recommend this platter for first timers to get a good feel of what they have to offer. The rest of the party ordered their own entrees, and all really enjoyed their food. I was very impressed with how friendly the service was. This place is half restaurant /half mini market. So after we ate, we perused the the market. There was a deli, a small frozen section, and shelves of imported goodies. The lady at the cashier was so sweet. She gave each one of us a free chocolate wafer to try out. Overall, I had a great first experience here. The food and the staff will have me coming back soon!

I need to go back to this place and really get into their menu. They day we went here for lunch we were looking for something light to hold us over until dinner. we settled for chicken soup and a Greek salad. It was very good but not very exciting. The menu looks very interesting with genuine Polish items. We saw other folks orders and they looked great. Our server was by herself but did a great job of taking care of everyone in the room. Looking forward to going back!

I was with Laura, large group of 30ppl or more. I am sincerely puzzled by this experience. I’ve been in so many mom and pop places and sometimes I just don’t understand why they don’t prepare for a large group, if they took the reservation. It is an opportunity for all these places to have more customers and for what I heard from the group, everybody liked the food! So, please go there and try! There are 2 people serving the 30+ and apparently 1 or 2 in the kitchen. Everybody was really excited to try the food, but the 1h waiting time was just too much. Some friends just left. They shouldn’t take the reservation if they can’t handle. The food I would rate 4 stars. It is good, although I didn’t eat what I asked for. I got my food about 30min after placing the order and looking around, seeing people still waiting I thought it was a good idea to just take it. There are so many interesting items in the menu, would love to try more. Maybe I will go back. I would love to tell you what I ate but their website is getting a warning from my antivirus, so better not to go there. Was a sort of dumplings filled with cheese and others with beef or sausage(I asked for mushrooms). Then a dessert which was also the same dumplings but inside they have what seems to me the frozen sweetened strawberry we eat for breakfast with pancakes or cottage cheese. It didn’t work well… Another desert was good, but I can’t recall what it was. That was my first time eating Polish food(and I am Polish descent). I might go back but with very few friends.
