I was never a huge torchy’s fan back when I lived in Austin and that didn’t really change much. I feel like I could get more for my money elsewhere but they do have decent tacos here. Typically, during lunch hours, they line is almost out the door, so I wouldn’t recommend coming here right in the middle of peak hours. On my recent visit I had the baja shrimp, the democrat, Mr. Pink, and the potato egg and cheese breakfast taco. It didn’t take too long to get our tacos. My favorites were definitely the breakfast taco and the baja shrimp. Their tacos are pretty pricey since you pay per taco and it could range from $ 3 – 5 per taco, depending on which ones you pick.

Awesome Tacos, I might be a little frugal but it’s worth a try. Great service and great food. A decent meal with a drink will run you about $ 10 and beats fast food any day. They have a great patio, a large selection of fountain drinks, coffee and tea. Open bar if that’s your thing. Clean and friendly go along way in the resteraunt business. I hate thinking I’m in a gas station when a place isn’t clean. Makes you wonder about the kitchen. Lol.

How have I not been to Torchy’s Taco yet??? It was such a perfect place to go to with my family on a Saturday night when in the mood for a laid back but hip establishment. Torchy’s is one of those places where you could even meet up your friends to have a drink or five(hehe jk)! I really liked the full bar option and the service was quick as well. I ordered the fried avocado taco on a corn tortilla and it was pretty good! The size of the taco was really big! I even found myself full after consuming one taco(its equivalent to two tacos). The tacos aren’t as authentic as the ones you would find at the gas station but it got the job done! I was able to taste some of my Aunt’s margarita swirl and it wasn’t too bad! Personally, I prefer the mambo taxis from MiCo or Taco Diner but the ones from Torchys is pretty similar. Overall: I would recommend coming to Torchy’s if you havent gotten a chance yet and you’re craving some tacos! I’m definitely a fan of this place!

Finally got a chance to try Torchy’s Tacos, which has been on my list for a while. I’d looked over the menu and secret menu online before going and was a bit overwhelmed at the choices offered. I decided to stick to the regular menu on my first visit. It was a bit after lunchtime on a Saturday but there were only a few people in line. They had several registers to handle the customers. After I ordered, the line got significantly longer. I ordered a fried avocado taco minus the lettuce and a «trashy» trailer park taco. I was surprised when I was asked what kind of tortillas I wanted because they both specified what kind they came with on the menu. I stuck with corn for the fried avocado and flour for the trailer park. I was given a number and found an open table. It was a bit longer of a wait than fast food and even most fast casual. At least 12 minutes. But the food came out fresh and hot. The avocado taco was served with two corn tortillas and two sides of poblano sauce. I did not taste any beans on the fried avocado, but it was tasty, especially with the sauce which added a nice flavor. The fried chicken in the trailer park taco was delicious, crunchy and well-seasoned. There wasn’t much queso in it though, which I added by making it trashy. Overall, the tacos were good and I’d eat here again if I was nearby or someone else wanted to go.

Fantastic street tacos here at Torchy’s with a brilliant menu to match. I’ve now had the opportunity to dine here a handful of times & being a curious little taco aficionado, I’ve ordered most tacos across the board. As a result, my personal favourite has become the Green Chilie Pork Taco, followed closely by the Baja Shrimp. The Green Chilie Pork is packed full of flavour with a decent amount of heat, while the Baja Shrimp has a fresh crunch due to the light crumb of the shrimp. It’s a great place to stop in for a casual lunch with friends or rather, settle in at the bar for a drink. I love it here.

Good, but not necessarily great? Wanted to try this place for a while, went and tried a handful. Overall, you get a lot of toppings for each ~$ 4 taco, and the green chile queso is pretty darn solid compared to the other queso’s around; full of flavor, not bland«cheese» singular flavor profile. Tacos were good, but not great. Maybe didn’t try the right ones; sauces are the key to holding them together maybe not enough sauces? Tried a bunch ranging from green chile pork, barbacoa, baja shrimp, fried chicken(trailer), and overall all were ok. Ok as if we wouldn’t make a special trip out to try Torchy’s, but would not avoid the place…

If you’re sensitive to salt you might want to think twice. Wow! My tacos were salty! I had the Baja Shrimp and Trailer Trash on corn tortillas. While the flavors were there, so was the salt. Did I mention the salt? Any recommendations on other choices would be great.

I’ve tried Torchy’s in Austin once awhile back, but so long ago that I don’t quite remember how good it was. So I decided to give them another chance here in Dallas with a group of friends. Torchy’s has a lot of hype in Austin so I was expecting a lot. I was quite disappointed with Torchys. The atmosphere was pretty cool with the patio seating and the open tables, but the food just wasn’t up to par. I got the Wrangler Taco, and the Burrito. My friends tried the Democrat, Shrimp Baja, and Chips and Queso/Guac. First off the Tacos are bigger than your average street tacos, it’s also packed with whatever meat you choose. However, I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but there’s so much meat that it’s all you can taste. Tacos are good because it has the variety of vegetables, meat, and sauce. However there is such a lack of balance in the tacos here. The burrito was huge, but not very good at all. It was basically overloaded with beans more than any other ingredient which was a huge disappointment. The Guac. was easily the best thing here. The service was pretty good, and our food came out fairly quickly, but I don’t see myself coming back here for the food. p.s The water here tastes like it was from the toilet.

This is a worst location of Torchy Tacos ever !!! I have been mostly all locations in Dallas area but this is worst one. They lack in cleanliness and customer service. Also they charge for full size gaucamole and only give half of it, I ignored this for couple of times but this just what they do. Not visiting this location again.

I love Torchy’s Tacos, they have one of the best quesos I’ve ever had. I’m also a big fan of the brushfire tacos and the beef fajita tacos. This location has a big patio and a large indoor seating area. Service was really good, and I will definitely come back.

I’ve always loved Torchy’s since the good olé college days. Even though it’s so prevelant now, doesn’t change my love for their Baja shrimp tacos. Those pickled onions and that chipotle sauce… mmmm…

My love for Torchy’s goes back to the one little Torchy’s store in Austin off the drag. Now they’re popping up everywhere in north Dallas! I love coming here for the queso and chips. The taco’s are great too, but I like sticking to the shrimp or carne asada. Their specialty tacos are a little too messy for my tastes. A complaint I always hear from others is that Torchy’s, while good, isn’t quite worth the price of each taco. So I limit myself to two and share to queso with others. This location has a nice large patio that is covered in bad weather. Plenty of seating for large groups!

UN-FREAKING-REAL. The tacos are absolutely delicious and it’s not uncommon to see a line out the door to get into this place(but it’s worth it). However, that can get a bit annoying when you are trying to get lunch during the weekday. You can sit at the bar to get around this, and they have great beer options. Ask for the secret menu if you want to try something a bit different. Queso and corn are great starters, and I LOVE that they don’t subscribe to the Pepsi/Coke model — they use an independent soda maker which adds to the uniqueness of the place. Parking is TERRIBLE, but I don’t fault Torchy’s for this. At times you’re better off parking at Home Depot and walking — the owner of the strip mall seems not to care because he/she just added another four retail spaces. Really wish they would allow dogs on the patio — I’d stop by much more often if I could bring my pooch! Really love Torchy’s!

What a fantastic delight. The food was delicious and plenty The atmosphere was casual, but run down or slacking. The service was welcoming. I ordered the Dirty Sanchez and the Independent. Most taco joints forget about the vegetarians. They usually have only 1 option… even if they have more than 1 option… they all end up being tasteless. Torchy’s is a taco-eating vegetarian’s best friend. The content of both tacos was, not only flavorful, but the veggies were not a big pile of mushed blob. The veggies still had their crispiness. They also provide a whole lot of stuffing in their tacos. I had to split the taco content between the 2 corn tortillas they provided. It took me a while to find this place, but man. I am sure glad I did. They are true to their slogan: A taco for every appetite

I have yet to find a taco here I don’t like! They are always amazingly flavorful and perfectly cooked. I love that they have corn and flour tortillas and let you choose which you want. I also like that they give you the salsas on the side so you can add as much or as little spice as you need(I am wimpy when it comes to spicy food so I appreciate being able to sprinkle salsa as opposed to having my taco drenched). Give this place a try, and be sure to get some street corn and chips w/salsa to go with your tacos, but be sure to share with your friends because those tacos are wayyyyy more filling than they look!

Came in for lunch with the wife. With Torchy’s and Chipotle she always has to grab the table while I order, otherwise you can be stuck somewhere you don’t want to be, or outside in the cold! In any case, she had her usual Trailer Park Trashy, minus green chilies, in a bowl. I had the new Taco of the Month, The Roscoe. We also had a side of queso & chips, all of it washed down by a couple of Sangrias a piece. Which the Sangrias, Mimosas, and Bloody Mary’s are on special on Sunday’s, so that’s a win! Her order was pretty standard, a little spicy, but positive. The queso was good, a little chilled due to waiting on delivery, but otherwise amazing as always. The Sangrias were tasty; wife actually liked them this time. Usually by the time we get in, it’s bottom of their pre-made barrel so it’s not so hot. Finally, The Roscoe.(See the picture). It’s a fried egg, square waffle, slice of bacon, piece of fried chicken(Their standard style), and maple syrup. Overall, it was a pleasing breakfast concoction. The flavored played well together, the bacon was crunchy, the maple syrup not too sweet, and the fried chicken just right. The only negatives were the maple syrup was a bit runny; should be medium thickness. The waffle was too big; had to tear it in half to make it taco-style edible. Finally, the egg was overlooked slightly. Still good mind you, but with a breakfast concoction you want runny egg yolk; this was mostly cooked through i.e. solid. I wouldn’t hold any of this against the taco, it was still delicious. Just minor improvement points. The service was good, relatively timely, and nothing to complain about. All in all, a very positive experience compared to previous. Hopefully they keep it up!

I’m a fan because their tacos are great. My co-workers and I like to come here after a 12-hour night shift at the hospital to get our drank on. The interior is precious. The patio is perfect for a gorgeous day. The service is hit or miss. My experience with their tacos boils down to this: The simpler the taco, the tastier. I ordered the baja shrimp, which is fried shrimp, some slaw, and a chipotle ranch drizzle. I devoured it. My second taco came from their«secret menu»(all you do is ask and they pull it from around the register). The Jack of Clubs is a fried egg topped with grilled potatoes, black beans, crisp corn tortilla strips, and shredded cheese topped off with cilantro, sour cream, and diablo hot sauce. It’s a very involved taco. My «fried egg» was runny, so I sent it back. The response was, «You have to specify». They didn’t ask how I wanted my egg when I ordered, but fair enough. I traded the Jack of Clubs in for a bowl of queso. They oversalted the chips, but the queso is unbelievable. My friend got the brushfire and the Matador. She wouldn’t shut up about the Matador(secret menu). See you at 0700!

I think I overhyped it for myself, maybe since I have not been to a torcheys in about a year. Came here on Halloween, 4 of us, around 5pm. It wasn’t crowded at all, and there wasn’t much noise. Not sure if the cashier was just flustered or what. One person says queso, one person says salsa. I think she made it too hard on herself by asking do you want a side of salsa? We get our food and guess what… No queso. I go back up there and ask and she said oh I thought someone said no queso. Bout the only reason I like torcheys. So instead of courtesy free queso, something most places would do, I just made another payment. I had a fajita taco, meat was pretty dry, and a trailer park. Both tacos were lukewarm. Next time just get some queso to go and get some street tacos from a gas station nearby.

This is probably my least favorite torchys in Dallas… It has potential to make a comeback as it is the coolest torchys I’ve seen! The décor and patio size has all the others beat. We sat at the bar and had sub par service. It was a Friday night and we all know torchys isn’t as fast as Taco Bell. However, when the 3 things we requested NOT to be on our tacos were still put on… That’s the turn off. I even reread my receipt to make sure the bartender wrote it correctly and he did. 100% laziness on the kitchen. They has a help wanted or now hiring sign so hopefully some hard working taco friends come in and really make this torchys as good as the others.
