Alterations By Elena

My son plays on a 12 and under co-​ed volleyball team at Hurricane Volleyball. We needed to have the sleeves of his two jerseys removed so they looked like boys jerseys but still matched the team. I stopped by Alterations By Elena and dropped them off Tuesday morning. I asked Elena if she could get them done by Friday, or at least the one he needed to wear for a tournament on Saturday. She said she could get it done. Price was $ 15 per jersey which I thought to be very reasonable.
I stopped by Friday morning to see if it was done yet. Elena said not yet, but she would get both done and to come after 2 pm to pick them up. I came a little after 3 pm and they were done. The jerseys look GREAT. You can’t tell they were made with sleeves originally.
She removed the sleeves and took the shoulders in slightly just how I asked, and both were done exactly the same. One was more difficult to do since it had longer sleeves with a side panel all the way up the jersey and the sleeve. She had to cut it in the appropriate way and make sure it didn’t stick out under the armpit area. She could have made a basic cut and left it sticking out, but she took the time to make sure it was done correctly.
Finding her shop isn’t bad, just know that it’s in a shopping area where there are several buildings and lots of small shops. Give yourself a few minutes to drive through and find it. Her shop is a few buildings behind the CVS on University Drive (near the intersection with Sunrise). Well worth the drive!!!

Took 5 pairs of pants to get hemmed. $ 15 per pair and they were done in 4 days. If you need something expedited, let her know as she will accommodate. She does a very thorough job and is consistent with her service.

I traveled 38 minutes for Elena’s alteration services! She is always busy! She takes the time to listen to what you want and make sure she does an awesome job! Highly recommended!

I went to Elena with an «emergency» last minute dilemma, we had traveled into town for a wedding and had not had time to alter my dress which was considerably long. Even though I had super high heels, it was still about 6 inches too long. I went to Elena first thing in the morning, and she agreed to help me out, even though she was super busy with other alterations. The dress has 4 layers so I understood that it wasn’t an easy job. Elena saved the day for me, she had the dress ready in a couple of hours and did a flawless job. I was so surprised when she agreed to help me in such short notice, that I had forgotten to ask her about the pricing. (To be honest I would have paid $ 100 because this was the morning of the wedding, we had to be there @ 5 pm) She called me at about 11:45 to tell me the dress was ready, we went to pick it up, she told me how much it was, $ 65 which seemed reasonable to me since the dress has 4 layers and I literally went in that morning, I happily paid her, gave her a little extra tip to show her how grateful I was she had helped me out and went on my merry way. The hemming was beautifully done. Thank you Elena!

Great alterations. Elena is very very easy to work with and she pays close attention to detail. Her work exceeded my expectations. I have used her on two different occasions for a total of about 6 items. All were completed on time and done well. Definitely recommended.

Elena is amazing! I had my wedding dress altered here and she did perfectly. It was also ready in 1 week, super fast!

Dropped off one pair of jeans for hemming. Price was right at $ 15.00 to hem the pants. No wait to have the hem marked. Parking was right out front and very convenient. The shop seemed clean and that’s always nice. Who wants to drop brand new clothing in a dirty shop? Elena’s hours seem reasonable, I believe the door said 9:00 — 5:00 weekdays, maybe one weekend day but I’m not sure.
One of the issues I’ve been having for years at the local alterations shops are irregular hours. Nothing worse than showing up at a store to find them closed during regular business hours. I am very pleased. Will be nice to finally have a reliable tailor near my house.

Elena is wonderful. She’s a no-​nonsense business lady who is excellent at tailoring.
I had a one-​shoulder bridesmaid’s dress that needed to be altered the same day. I called Elena in the morning, dropped it off at 10:00am, and it was complete by 1:00pm! And let me be clear: she did not sacrifice quality for speed. She and her team are very friendly, and if I lived in Plantation, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my alterations. My dress fit me like a glove and I walked in the wedding without having to constantly adjust my dress in any way (unlike some of the other ladies I walked with).
The price was affordable and on-​par with other places. You won’t go wrong with Elena if you choose to have her tailor your clothes!
