I had come here once when it was Christina’s, the food was so awful that I didn’t want to try the new place. A colleague brought me here this week and I cannot begin to write about how good the food is. I’ve already been back a second time and will definitely make sure I stop by at least once a week. The octopus was so melt in your mouth good, the tzatziki and Greek salad were fresh and phenomenal. I could go on and on about the lamb and chicken. Definitely a must-go-to place.

Really good food, loved the Greek white wine, nice and light. Had a fantastic lamb dish. Friendly Service.

Food was good. But speaking from a college age group perspective, I felt like the owner wasn’t very friendly and didn’t bother reciting the specials menu and also took away the wine menu super quickly, which was different from how he treated other people in the restaurant. Not to mention, when we asked for more pita + garlic dip, he only brought out more pita with no garlic, leaving us with just a tiny amount of garlic left on the previous plate. The waitress was very nice and friendly though, I didn’t feel judged by her. Nonetheless, the food was decent. I ordered a pork chop, it was delicious.

I have eaten at several Greek restaurants, as I love Greek food! this place is the BEST I’ve had! absolutely delicious gyro sandwich, and the calamari wrecked me! I can never eat calamari elsewhere without comparing it to what I had here! an absolute find!

So cute. They were very accommodating because I eat a plant based. Good was great & my boyfriend ordered a fish dish plus the octopus I tried the octopus… AMAZING the only other place close by that can come close to good octopus is Ethos in coconut creek but now this makes a mean octopus. Atmosphere is casual I feel like I’m in a shabby chic magazine and yet I feel like I’m in a family members home. Two thumbs up!

Why is there not a block long wait to get into this place??? The food is phenomenal! And when you factor in the prices and the carefully crafted wine list this is the best new restaurant I’ve tried in a long time. Try This Place ASAP!!!

We have been here several times and everything we’ve tried has been great, fresh, and authentic Greek. They have a lunch menu for quick in and out and outstanding dinner menu to sit and enjoy.

So glad we came in today, we come down to Pompano several times per year. This is a Greek restaurant with classic style Greek food. As a Greek my standards are pretty high. Taverna 2201 did not disappoint! Everything on the menu was delicious and the owner Bill was so helpful and the staff was very warm and professional. The grilled octopus was fantastic, well seasoned and grilled to perfection, just the way I make it. The Greek salad was perfect, and the grilled Bronzino was very fresh and delicious. You can’t miss trying the Greek style lamb chops, they should be made any other way! We are going to be coming back here every time we come to Pompano, so glad this opened. Don’t even think about it, just try and you won’t regret it.

The service excellent, the fish was delicious but small. We had a butternut squash soup; I didn’t know if I liked it or hated, was too spicy and I was missing the creamy flavor. The fries were dry and not good. I don’t think We’re coming back. Wish them good luck.

We’ve been here two times and really enjoyed our meals. This is an excellent choice for an affordable Greek meal in Pompano Beach. The sampler appetizer is really good and the kebab meals are great. I’ve had the filet mignon kebab and the chicken kebab. The filet is outstanding. The Greek salad is also one of the best we’ve had. Highly recommend.

An extremely positive experience at Table 2201! We have frequented many Greek restaurants both in Florida and New York, including the previous restaurant at this location. There is absolutely no comparison(this one we visited twice in one week). From the décor, including original unique tables and chairs from Greece, to the superbly prepared dishes, this restaurant stands out among the others. If available, be sure to try the lamb ribs(not lamb chops), they are to die for, the grilled octopus is exceptional, and the homemade Greek Yogurt Mousse is absolutely the most decadent desert ever(and good for you too). We look forward to a long gastronomical relationship with Bill and his family!

After grabbing some beers at the brewery nearby we decided to keep the night going by grabbing some food. I checked my Unilocal bookmarks and found Table2201 was close by(we ended up walking) and seemed like a great option! I didn’t find the restaurant to be terribly intimate, which for my particular purpose was good, but it did seem like slightly more of a lunch spot in my mind than a dinner spot. Definitely a cute spot with a lot of charm, just maybe the lights were a bit bright? The restaurant was half full when we arrived and we were quickly shown a table, but by the end of dinner it was pretty packed, with a large family group coming in at close to 8pm. The menu is pretty expansive and I had a hard time looking over it all. Our server, who was very attentive at first, and less so when the big party arrived, came over and went over the specials with us. We were given a complimentary pita and dip(butter, red pepper etc) to snack on while we decided. This was delicious btw! We decided to share the octopus appetizer after reading Marqus’ review. It wasn’t the best octopus I’ve ever had, but it was tasty, and the bed of onions and tomatoes helped. In fact I declared the tomatoes to be some of the best I’ve ever had lol… perfectly ripened. I went back and forth with several menu items and finally settled on the whole snapper plate. This dish came with steamed carrots and broccoli(both of which were nothing special, yet very good at the same time! — they still had some crunch which was perfect), and rice. I would have loved to have picked other side options, but these worked I guess. The star of the show was of course the fish. Beautifully cooked and I left dreaming about that lemon butter sauce. Wow, really impressed! My companion selected the swordfish steak(a special) and found it was served with the same sides as mine and in the same lemon butter sauce. First off, this«steak» was HUGE. More of a filet in my mind, and hung over the ends of the plate! I’m not crazy about the texture of swordfish, but I tried a bite and LOVED it! Also very good! After both eating huge plates of fish we opted to skip dessert(I was rushing home to watch TWD anyways lol). Overall, I’m a fan. I left hovering around 3.5 stars, as the ambiance and octopus didn’t quite work for me… but now that I’m thinking about both those fish dishes, definitely ok with rounding up to 4!

Occupying a street corner location formerly of Christina’s, Table 2201 is big improvement. The location has been spruced up a lot and though nothing frilly now has a certain basic street side ambiance and charm about it. But the big plus is in the food which I found amazingly good; thoroughly delicious. Though one of the pricier of Greek restaurants a tremendous value for what you get. You can spend a lot more at some of the really top end Greek restaurants like Thasos Greek Taverna, but often not get as good of a meal. For my meal I did an off the menu order of their octopus appetizer and blackboard daily special order of swordfish. Before my meal arrived I was given a complimentary dish of pita bread with beet spread, which was unique to me as I’ve never had it before. The pita bread was piping hot, fresh in taste and texture, and the beet spread rich and robust in beet flavor. When my octopus arrived, it was in a beautiful presentation, generous in size and loaded with an almost melt in your mouth tender octopus that had been perfectly charred. Likewise, my plate of swordfish wasn’t just any little cut of fish but a real steak cut in size, one of the largest I’ve ever had in restaurant, perfectly prepared, exuding a freshness of taste and overall couldn’t have been more delicious. In comparison to other similarly priced Greek restaurants, Five Stars!

The place follows the trend to get its namesake from its address — 2201 Atlantic. Framed as a Mediterranean seafood & grille, l was intrigued by the prospect of the mediterranean’s expansive east to western food range. Walking in the décor is a mix of modern & traditional greek which itself hints to the culinary direction. The ambiance is pleasant if you’re not facing the windows looking out on Atlantic Blvd traffic; classic Greek folk music adds to the milieu. The heafty portion of taramosalata spread overwhelmed the 1st round of pita wedges.(We got more). The Pyrgos appetizer provided a unique spin on a greek classic moussaka… topped with yogurt. My Mediterranean burger hit the spot with toasted bun, stacked high with fixings and hot thin cut french fries. The village salad was freshly made offered bright flavors as it was not ladened in oil. Finally I was impressed with their lighter version of the dessert galactoboureko(custard in filo pastry)…it rounded out the meal, didn’t burden it as with many other desserts. Staff was pleasant & attentive to our needs. The courses for my party of two(2 appetizers, large salad & burger) where delivered incrementally vs all at once. Two people sharing can enjoy each item’s nuances — but clarify if you’d rather not share. Ask for water to compliment your beverage as my(Mythos) beer came alone. To close, we’d return for what I’d describe as «Greek with a modern twist». In future visits I’d want to explore the fish/seafood side of the menu. The prices(for dinner at least) warrant bringing your appetite & the time to savor it.

Just opened new Mediterranean restaurant which is located at the old Christina’s. Went there for their lunch special menu. My favorite selection is a lamb gyro pita so I went for that. Unfortunately they cook it in a pan rather than on a spit which is what creates the grilled crunchy taste I believe is the secret to a good gyro. Compounding the disappointment is the amount of lamb in the gyro, a very small portion as you can see. Tasted as good as a pan cooked gyro can, not that great. All in all Christina’s Café and the Gyro Joint are still the gyro kings of Broward county. On the bright side their beach fries were fantastic but they didn’t have any malt vinegar which is how Thrashers in Ocean City, Md invented them in 1929 and made them famous, The service was fantastic and the price for the gyro, beach fries, and refillable diet cokes was $ 11 which is pretty good. I will try another item on my next visit. My advice to management, get a spit to cook the gyros, it makes all the difference and increase the meat portion.
