Always come here. Always packed(in a we’re-the-best-in-town type of way). Always good service. Always great food. Always wanna steal the hot sauce. Always. Always. Always.

Misti used to be my fave spot in the area. Today I ordered ceviche mixto and a lomo saltado. The smell coming from the plate was so bad that I have decided that this will be the last time here, even my friend said that dishes weren’t that good. And what it is worse the service was so bad that we have had to search for our waitress. So disappointed.

I have eaten here many times. When I am too tired to cook or if I just want to get out of the house I come here. The rotisserie chicken(pollo a la brasa) is very good I suggest that you get your salad dressing«on the side» if you have not eaten here before.(It is made with lots of mustard and it is a bit too sour tasting for me.) Try the seafood soup – fantastic, especially on a rainy or cold night. I want to try the fish soup the next time I go. The best thing of all here is the flan. I never cared much for flan until a friend suggested I try it. I now order it every time I eat here(which is often). I also like the ladies who wait tables here. They have always been very friendly and accommodating to me. It doesn’t hurt to smile and look them in the eye when you speak.(Hey, I waited tables between college and grad school. Give them a break!) P. S.–Here is the best tip of all. One night I asked our waitress if I could get the recipe for the flan. She went into the kitchen and came back with a slip of paper that said«Matthews Bakery, Stamford, CT». Since then I have gotten flan and a number of delightful cakes, too. Unlike most bakeries, they are open 7 days a week, 6 am to 8 pm.

Food is always on point. Prices are extremely fair for what you get. I didn’t love sitting at a table right outside of the bathroom, but there were other tables for two available, just larger tables. Still always a good meal!

Misti Restaurant has been in business for years. As other reviewers have mentioned, consistency is an issue. Unlike people, restaurants aren’t allowed to have«bad hair days.» Lately, it’s been great. I recently had dinner here on a Saturday night. It was very crowded. I ordered the Arroz con Camarones(Shrimp with Rice) and it blew me away! The shrimp were perfectly prepared and the flavor was wonderful. Not too spicy, just right. I also had the Chicha Morada(Peruvian purple corn drink), it was a little disappointing, like the kind you buy at the grocery store(versus home brewed). For dessert I had the crema caramel– it was absolutely the best I’ve ever had in a long time. Service was ok. Overall, a very nice dining experience. Misti’s is an excellent restaurant overall & has 5 star potential.

This restaurant has a lot of potential but it’s very difficult to communicate over the phone. If you try to place an order, let’s just say, better to dine in.

Food is very inconsistent. It could be either delicious or just plainly disgusting. If you dine inside just know that the service is TERRIBLE. The waitstaff definitely needs to be trained better and taught to pay attention to details like refilling your water or making sure your food came out ok. Also, I found come kind of slime in my ice that looked like a booger(they probably don’t clean their ice machine) and when I let the server know she did absolutely nothing. This place could be a gem if they had better management/servers. But food is cheap. Mistis is either a hit or miss. May the odds be ever in your favor!

I had a bad experience with a waitress that refused to change my order a few minutes after I ordered. I could understand if it was a steak made to order or something but it was the rotisserie chicken(which was probably already sitting in a warm box). She took my new order then 15 minutes into my meal she sits the plate of chicken down next to me and walks away. So I ended up going home with the chicken which was so dry and inedible anyway that I simply threw it out. Now, what I DID have was the Lomo which was very tasty and the portion was generous. Prices are reasonable which made it even better.

While the food is a slightly simpler and blander version of Peruvian food, the tastes are very easy for folks new to Peruvian food and let’s face it the value is amazing: half a rotisserie chicken over fries and a salad for $ 7.50!!! Best food for the buck!

Found a cockroach in my food today and the service was terrible the waitress had the nerve to tell me that’s a added flavor to my rotisserie chicken. What the nerve she had, where is the health department?

What happened to Misti? This is the second time I order chicken and tastes terrible. The chicken was so dry that I felt it was from a week ago. I ordered a salad in addition to the rice and fries. The lettuce were wrinkled and not washed, tasted terrible. A little bit of rice(not enough, they being cheap if you ask me) in comparison to the fries. If you are trying make money pretty soon you you are going to be in trouble with that quality of food you are serving. I traveled a half an hour and feel that I was better of with a burger. Are you serious? Come on. I rather you charge me more and serve me quality than cheap and nasty for lack of a better word. Come on! I used to enjoy your food. Please help yourselves. So bad it gave me a stomached. Juan Carlos

I just love this place! The food is awesome, and the prices are incredible! Sometimes the service is a little slow, but I think it may because the place gets busy. I always start with the Papa A La Huanciana — boiled potatoes smothered in a cheese sauce, with egg and olives. My favorite main dishes are the Camares Fritos — fried calamari and the Jalea — assorted fried seafood. The plates are so big, they feed numerous people. And I love the pickled onion salad that comes on the side. The ceviche is fresh, and not too hot(spicy) for me. They have a green sauce they give you on the table, but the heat is way too much for me. The fresh fruit juices(more like smoothies) are outstanding. The fruit is fresh, and you can taste it. I will keep coming back! It is one of my favorite places.

Lately the service is terrible at this place. Take out is a nightmare! When I call they answer the phones saying hola. I always think I’m calling the wrong number and not a restaurant. The worst part is after saying hola they put me on hold by throwing the phone on the counter, they’d leave me on hold for 5 – 15 mins. Then after they take my order they say it’ll be ready in 15 mins. But I end up waiting 30 mins and receive it cold. So to sum it all up, expect terrible service at this place. This place is not worth the stress.

This place is excellent. The pollo a la brasa is delicious and the Aji sauce that goes with it is one of the spicier ones that I’ve tasted. We also shared a lomo and some of their sweet plantains. Great experience over all. I’d definitely return. BTW, this is a HUGE restaurant compared to your typical peruvian spot.

Very cheap local Peruvian restaurant. I had a late weekday lunch around 2:00. So there were not many customers. Most of them seemed local, they talked in Spanish, but they speak English as well. I ordered ½ Pollo a la brasa, which came with green salad and white rice. Chicken was juicy and tender, though a bit salty outside, and cost only $ 7. Servers are nice, very quick to serve.

His place is awesome… Authentic Peruvian cooking. I have been coming here for some time and love the Chafa De Pollo with a little of their green sauce– cant go wrong. Lomo salteado is fantastic. Prices are great, usually no wait time but on weekends it gets pretty packed. Definitely worth a trip!

I’ve come here twice, and it is definitely a local fave. Great deal for the prices – dinner and drinks for under $ 20. They serve wine and beer here, but I’m not sure about other bar drinks. Lomo dish is served in a delicious gravy over french fries and rice… super filling and hearty. My friend ordered the ceviche though and couldn’t convince any of us to have any though.
