There Yum bowls are delicious! You can buy the sauce and it would make a great gift for your out of town family. I’m hooked!

It’s all about that lemony Yumm sauce. That’s what it comes down to. You put that stuff on anything in Café Yumm and it just tastes better. My friend said that if she could afford to eat there every day, she would. I knew of Café Yumm and we sell the sauces at New Seasons, so I had an idea, but I really didn’t know the menu or what type of food it would be. Bowls, salads, wraps, tofu, tempeh, fish, chicken are all represented with many options and sizes depending on your appetite. I had the small Yumm bowl with chicken. Rice, beans, black olives, tomatoes, cheese, chicken and Yumm sauce. For a light lunch, it was perfect. That sauce is basically just a very thinned out hummus with extra lemon in it. No matter, it’s good and worked with the bowl. I should have asked to see if they had some jalapeño, it could have used a little spice kick to it. Yes, I could have added sriracha, but I wasn’t in the mood for that. Odd for me. If you’re wanting a good meal, simple and inexpensive, you really can’t go wrong here and the strawberry lemonade was quite good too… Yumm.

Great quick food at a great price with alcohol included. Although it is a regional chain, the food is a definite upgrade to your regular fast casual. Although the concept is hard to decipher at first for a cross between Asian and Spanish, the flavors made alot of sense once you eat.

I usually like this place. I usually order the medium original yum bowl and it’s always pretty good. today I ordered the the medium original yum bowl and the tofu skewer. as I was sitting down, I overheard a cook saying«I guess she’s getting the last skewer of the day.» which implied they’re pre-made and then just sit out all day. when I got it, it was cold and dry, which makes me believe it wasn’t fresh at all. it was really hard and difficult to chew and didn’t have much flavor– it was pretty inedible actually. the yum bowl wasn’t that good either, which was kind of a surprise. the staff are always super nice, but the tables are always really dirty. this is a good place if you need something healthy pretty quick and for pretty cheap, but don’t expect too much.

PDX location — despite other reviews I loved this place! I travel a lot, there are rarely fresh and healthy options available in any airport. Found this place on accident — breakfast tacos served ALLDAY! I had the Rancheros(breakfast tacos) with tofu, no cheese. Perfect for a pre-flight meal, not too heavy and well seasoned. Even if I’m not in this terminal next time, I’ll make the trek!

This review if for Café Yumm in Portland International Airport. Really bad food, not fresh at all, tasteless and stale. The lady in the register was really nice and good in selling the product but when the food arrived it looked really bad and tasted even worse.(Posting a picture as well).

So I first tried this with my mom and my sister a few days ago. We thought it looked good by the description of the menu but we turned out to be extremely wrong. It’s like a terrible knock-of chipotle. Their yumm sauce tastes like mayonnaise mixed with crap. I was nauseous after eating it. Their prices are ridiculous for the amount of food they give you. And on top of that… The food they serve you is cold and the water is warm.

This was one of my regular spots when I worked in Portland in 2013. I was back for RNR Portland in 2015, so my friend and I came in for a healthy lunch. I got my usual… medium original Yumm bowl with baked tofu. Apparently the tofu is marinated and then baked in a convection oven which gives it this awesome texture. Lots of options to customize and make dishes vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. Happy to get my fix!

Not from Portland, searched Unilocal for gluten free places to eat at and this place came up. It’s challenging at times to find places that really accommodate gluten free(I have celiac disease). The girl at the counter was super sweet, showed me their gf menu and suggested an original yum bowl. I asked if they could be careful when making my food and she asked one of the cooks and he said it was already being made(which made me worried). The bowl was not very good… to be honest chipotle is way better and you get double for your money there. Plus for us gf people, chipotle is way more accommodating. Maybe the other items are better here but it definitely made me wish I went somewhere else.

I was resistant to this place for years. The idea being that I didn’t like their sauce so therefore why would I want their food? Boy I was really wrong. In a moment of vegan despair for options(junipers was closed) I broke down and I went. You get to choose bowl size: big plus, you can choose meat or no meat: big plus. They have significant vegan options(not just the standard one that might be offered on the menu). They have avocado! In chunks! It’s in the middle of downtown which makes lunch easy! And various forms of foods too. Salad, bowl, Burrito. I’m sold.

You’ll either get addicted to Café Yumm or you’ll find it off-putting. I became an addict. I’ve been eating at Café Yumm since living in Eugene. I used to eat at the Oakway Center location almost everyday when I worked nearby. After moving to Portland, I was excited they were opening new locations here. We always have a bottle of the sauce in the household. The service remains pretty efficient and friendly. The food is still as guiltlessly delicious and as wholesome as ever. I always either get the bento with jasmine rice and BBQ tofu, or the original with no beans, no olives. My only complaints: 1. The bento never has enough sauce. 2. The bowls are too small and it’s hard to mix the ingredients without spilling. My husband asks them to pre-mix for this reason and they’re usually cool about it. He did get a weird stare a couple times.

I had to try it twice. Flavors are good, P-lenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Pros: Order IN, and your bowl(if you order the large) will be good sized, and very filling. All ingredients are in their own little portion of this little food nest, and mixing them all together makes it just that much better. Cons: Order to GO, and your bowl is a what looks like a 12 ounce soup container. I really don’t know how they can say it’s the same sized portion. I think if I spilled the ingredients from the to go order into the large bowl, it wouldn’t even come to the top. I even said, «this is the LARGE», the guy said«yep». Hmm. So, if you’re not hungry and in a hurry — go ahead and order to go. Me, I’m staying in and enjoying what seems like a bigger portion while all the to go saps get their tiny soup containers.

This place is close to work and I’ve been recommended to give this place a whirl. I did just that and wasn’t really blown away by it. The staff appear to be friendly and helpful but the food honestly just seems like something I could easily make myself at home for cheaper. I went with the Yumm! Baby bowl since there are no beans in it(not the biggest fan of them). The bowl consisted of Thai jasmine rice, extra avocado(which I also opted out of since I dislike the taste), the Original Yumm sauce, and the deluxe toppings(olives, shredded Tilamook cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream). I almost felt like I was eating a burrito in a bowl(which I never really do since I like the tortilla). It was interesting and yet again, just alright. I don’t know if I’d go back here again just because nothing really stood out to me and made my tastebuds shout. Café Yumm! is definitely a wholesome option for those trying to eat healthy.

This place is A-Ok. I have not been to a Café Yumm in quite some time and not much as changed. I used to go a lot when I lived in Corvallis and this location has a few pluses: 1. It’s a larger, more open space. 2. It’s in a great location downtown below my new-favorite parking garage. This makes it a convenient quick stop before going to see a movie or while out shopping. The food is still okay, it’s a little concerning that their menu, at least in terms of their bowl selection, has *not* changed in the past 4 years. Their bowls are a great, quick option with lots of toppings and well cooked rice, but you are not going to find something spectacular here. I like to think of it as the Subway of rice bowls. The spicy«Hot and Jazzy» is not as spicy as I remember it but it is the one, for me, that has the most flavor. Note: Beware of the Yumm Sauce, it’s addicting but not a «free food.» Accessible entrance and large enough spaces to maneuver around in. Order/pay at the counter, take a number, they’ll bring your food out to you, bus your own table. Beer and wine available.

Yumm with two«m“s. Yumm with a capital«Y» for YESS! Yumm with… mfrrmmfmmm…oh, sorry, my mouth was full of delicious food that time. We ordered from Café Yumm! while working at the Convention Center(delivered by Portland Pedal Power). It took about an hour for delivery to our location(not bad) and our order… incredible. I had the SECRETASIANMAN(…nice naming) with tofu: field greens, tomato, carrots, red cabbage, cilantro, gluten-free Crispy Noodles, slivered almonds, Sweet Ginger Miso dressing($ 9). This is a big’ol power salad. Filling and flavorful and texture-licious and absolutely vegetarian-approved! A great lunch option if you’re looking for something light(–ish…my salad was still 650cal) and healthy-yumm.

The ginger-garlic veggie burger is better than any meat burger I’ve ever had. The coffee has nice nutty undertones and everything tastes fresh and light. I wish I wasn’t full so I could eat more!

My friend works nearby and this is one of his favorite lunch spots. I was lucky enough to tag along during a visit to Portland last weekend and I enjoyed my Jazzy Bowl. We couldn’t really tell what was the difference between that and the Original Bowl at the time. Upon reading through some reviews, I realize that the Jazzy is supposed to have more spice, but my friend adds hot sauce to his Original anyway so his was actually spicier. Cost: About $ 22 for 3 bowls. * Jazzy Bowl — 4 stars pic: Really nice! I had to pick out the olives, but I loved the mushy mixture of rice and sauce and flavors. You gotta really make sure to mix it well, get the avocado mushed up in there though! The rice is just the perfect texture, soft and kind of sticky, soaks up a lot of flavors.

This place is awesome, IMO. I’ve only ever had the Café Yumm Bowls,(specifically Deluxe) but that’s enough to keep me coming back. It’s not necessarily cheap for the portion sizes you’re getting, but it’s high quality food, which probably makes it more expensive. A small Yumm Bowl is $ 4.95 and is about the equivalent of a 1.5 cups of goodness. The Dexluxe Bowl comes with rice, beans, Yumm sauce, of course… and«deluxe toppings.» So, avacado & cilantro,(barf) cheese, sour cream, tomatoes and olives. They kinda scimp on the sour cream, but that’s okay. I don’t need it. Honestly a refreshing meal, and the people who work here are very friendly. NOTE: You will *hate* the Yumm Sauce if you do NOT like hummus. The Yumm sauce is like a tangier hummus. So, FYI. And if you don’t like it, feel free to pile it on my plate!!!

I’ve always loved Café Yumm ever since college days in Eugene, where I would consciously try to be healthy after binging on alcohol the day before. The concept is very simple. I really do enjoy their yumm sauce especially chipotle. My favourite bowl to order is the hot and jazzy because I like a little kick with my food. The veggies, sauce, rice, beans and cheese always leave me feeling full and healthy. The cheese is just the amount of saltiness I need to not complain for meat! I sometimes get the wrap which also amazing. I’m gladd they’ve branched out to Portland. Please come to southeast. You are a hipster food and belong in the hipster area, I don’t like to pay for parking for a $ 5 bowl! I’ve learned to buy the sauces and recreate the rice bowl myself at home. It’s expensive sauce but will laat a while! Bonus: you can sub sour cream for yogurt!
